Its all been said before but clearly not much is done about it. Very tired desperate for a revamp. Reception staff void of personality an were more concerned about wanting me to give them $100 to hold incase i wiped out the minibar WTF , restaurant food an staff really good.
This is my favourite hotel in NZ rooms are spacious we stayed during netball tournament it is lovely the food is great love the breakfasts along with the Service in particular an older maori woman with short hair she is the best
Room tired, handles missing, bathroom not clean, dirty glasses, mold on wall and smudge of blood above toilet roll holder. Email sent to me 2 days prior asking if I would like to upgrade to a luxury room for $10 which I said yes to and this was confirmed by hotel but on arrival lobby staff knew nothing about this and no luxury room was available initially but after 15 mins of unnecessary fussing in the lobby one miraculously became available which was the tired and dirty room described. I have stayed several times at Rydges but not again. It really needs to lift its game. Disappointing!!
My family of 4 stayed at Rydges Rotorua for a weekend trip while visiting from Australia. We had 2 adults and 2 early-teenage kids in one room and had plenty of space. The rooms are very spacious and we did not feel crowded in at all. The staff were amazing - from helping us with bookings and making calls for us, to just being generally friendly and helpful. The breakfast had plenty of options for all and also plenty of space. We also managed to have some down time in the bar, which nice to chill in for a while. Would absolutely be back and would stay here again.
Very spacious and clean rooms. I don't think there was a/c, we had a big ceiling fan in the room we stayed in. Breakfast was very good in the very large high ceiling restaurant. Mini bar in room and also a Hotel bar.
The hotel room is big, clean and spacious and itself is nice. The window can be opened as well. The staff very friendly and provided us with porridge even though they've taken it insides since we came down late for breakfast. This is the biggest hotel throughout my stay in NZ for this trip.
A complete waste of money. The food discusting The show rushed and unproffessional Cold atomesphere Worst Ive ever attended. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY The show couldnt have been more than 30 minites long.
We stayed here for a couple of nights and were drawn in by the Rydges name and photos that must have been taken some time ago, but have to say that it doesn’t live up to the brands name. I think it was last time it had any renovations done was back in the 1990’s. It’s old and tired looking, had a funny smell in the room and the road noise was terrible. The biggest problem was the price, paying a 4 star price for a 2 star property. They need to invest some money and bring in into the 21st century.
The hotel itself is nice and the staff very friendly. The service was awesome at the bar amd dinner although our meals were a bit basic for the price and small which we told our waiters who apologised and gave a discount. I can't say how amazing the staff was. Very polite and attentive. The rooms were nice, clean and spacious. Only other complaint was the pool was closed but other than that a nice stay
I booked a "Deluxe King Spa Room" for 2 nights and it was huge with a decent size balcony (looking over the racecourse) and clean. No faults with the room at all and I would more say I was very happy when I walked through the door. Sadly the bar was shut on Easter Sunday and the pool was closed for maintenance (although I was advised about the pool with my booking confirmation). Staff at breakfast, dinner and at the bar were very nice and did a great job. Food at dinner was great and good service. Breakfast was okay and just your normal buffet style but did the job. Based on this stay we would have no hesitations staying here again.
