Towpath Motel2.0 out of 5.0

I stayed at the Towpath Motel for one night and wasn't very impressed. Check in took way longer than necessary and the accommodations were mediocre. Furniture was extremely outdated and the bathroom was closed in and small. The mattress was coated in plastic which made it hard to fall asleep. Refrigerator provided did not work and because of the place the TV was located there was an odd echo when using the TV. The only reason why I would recommend this hotel is if you want to be extremely close to downtown Rochester. If you go 10 minutes down the road you can find something cheaper and a lot better quality.
This is not the Hilton but for the price, at least it is clean and it's in a decent neighborhood. Personally I'd rather pay $20 less and live with an outdated comforter. If you have to have the best of everything, this is not the place for you. The room I was in had a Keurig so bring K-cups as they only provided 1. Owners (managers?) gave off a very uptight vibe but were friendly. I'd stay there again. Bonus: it's only minutes from the Highland Park Diner and very close to most other things in Rochester
The only thing going for this place : location and price ! I was in a pinch waiting for a move -in date for new apartment , and traveling with a pet I needed some place for a few days where I could unwind and relax at a budget rate . This is a no-frills hotel with minimal amenities , basically student quality . One star is a stretch . That said, it was not too bad for a short stay and did have a decent bed and cable tv, inc HBO . Skip the hotel breakfast , a waste of time . Yelp "best breakfasts in Rochester for some great choices nearby , like highland diner and Jim browns place .
I payed $45.26 for a king bed flat screen.cable.great wifi (very fast). Fridge.micro.coffe maker. Blower.iron .and free continental breakfast. This room was clean quite and had the most comfortable bed..i will stay again..im passing the word on Tow path motel to friends and family...%100. Front desk ill give him a 10 yes good service
We stayed here on our second night in the Rochester area after a bad stay at a motel 6 the previous night. The gentleman at the front desk was courteous and professional. Check-in was easy. The room is quite small but has all the amenities you might need like a mini-fridge, coffee maker, shampoo/conditioner, etc. The room was clean. The shower was particularly great with good water pressure and lots of room to stand in. The motel is dog friendly for dogs under 15 pounds with a 15$ surcharge per night. They serve a very basic cold continental breakfast in the morning which we skipped. The wifi was free and adequately fast. Overall, a good choice if you're staying in the Rochester area on a budget.
Me my husband and 2 children were looking for a get a way upon our arrival the man was rude saying he had no smoking rooms i never asked he raised the room price twice we just left never stayed smh very bad
I stayed in the motels before, that is why I didn't expect such nice service. Very clean, no smells, nice bed. The breakfast was good. I think that the Towpath motel meets all the best expectations . I advice everybody consider staying in this motel.
We were in the Buffalo area and needed an unexpected spot to crash for the night. Room was clean. It's an older motel so keep that in mind. Nothing boutique or special. But for a bed and place to land it worked. The advertised continental breakfast was a stretch, it was coffee and apples. Plan on grabbing food some place else.
When we finally set a price for the room. The man behind the desk copied my Visa Number and expiry date down on a piece of scrap paper. Then ran my card through the machine. I asked him why he did wrote in down and the he didn't need the info. Why would he need that info?? He just smiled and ripped it up in front of me. I asked for the pieces myself. In the confusion I accidentally left my drivers licence with him. Later the night (4 hours) later he call and said my ID was with him. Again why some 4 hours later??? The rooms were good for the price. But the shadiness was why I gave them one star.
Every other hotel I have ever stayed in had beds as hard as rocks, not here. The bathroom could use a little updating, but it was clean. We stayed here to visit my newly born Grandson. Rochester General was 10 min. away. Easy to get to and in a quiet neighborhood. Off street parking, good cable TV (not a lot of time to watch). Good, friendly management.
