Hampton Inn at Roanoke was just like all other Hampton Inns very nice.

This Hampton Inn is fine, but it's not as nice as many out there. It's getting a bit beat up, and doesn't feel particularly well maintained. Much of the property feels more like a typical "Super 8" or so, which are just fine for what they are, also, but are also typically $25-30/night cheaper. The pool is gross. Our bathroom was pretty beat up. Meh.

Receptionists not friendly and indoor pool looked dirty - we did not dare swim. There was no microwave in the room which surprised us.

Property was dated and a bit run down. xxxxxxxxxxxx

Just an all around great hotel experience. Would stay at this place again.

Location was convenient and close to I81. They had an excellent breakfast and the staff was very helpful and accommodating.

Rude older man checked us in. Didn't say anything to us besides asking our name and advising he couldn't check to see if we could get a better aarp or aaa rate (which I have never had happen before after many hotel stays). So much so I asked at the end if we were checked in. Tub needed extraordinary strength to turn on and then dripped when you turned it off. Young man at check out was very nice. Not likely we will ever stay at a Hampton Inn again. My mother had wanted to stay at a Quality Inn or Best Western and after the experience, I have to agree.

The room was clean and comfortable, nice size with plenty of room. Hot breakfast the next morning was a plus. The hotel had an indoor pool and exercise room that we were unaware of when we booked the room, otherwise would have brought bathing suits.

Continued to be impressed with this Hampton. This was the break we needed, traveling both to and from visiting family up north. All areas impressive, from room to breakfast and amenities and great staff.

It was a very pleasant stay. Wish you had a hot tub at the pool.

Little things make a difference. The ironing board pad was literally disintegrating staff replaced the board. The shower curtain rod was barely attached to the shower enclosure, which was cracked. Reported to the front desk. For whatever reason, water tended to escape the shower and end up on the floor, soaking the bath mat. Reported to the front desk. The chocolate chip cookies are a Hampton signature, but there were only a few available on one of the three nights of my stay.

Clean and easy to get on and off interstate. Easy to get over to mall shopping area if one so chooses. Breakfast was well stocked.

About 30 minutes north of VT so it is a good overnight either for a night before or after a game. Much better value than close to town. Rooms were nice and very clean, however the free breakfast was the relatively spartan version usually offered by this chain ( but at least you could get Cheerios rather than generics.) Beds were very comfortable. My only serious complaint was that the cable TV was not receiving half the channels (most of the ones I wanted.). When I called the front desk to inquire, they said they would be right up to check it out. No one ever came up and the full cable service was out until the next morning. Wish they would have just been honest with me about the problem.

I stopped at this Hampton as an over-night passing through on my way home from a week long New York vacation. It is very conviently located right off of I-81 south. They're lots of good restaurants nearby. They've got a nice indoor swimming pool. My room was a little dusty, but good none the less.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Roankoke/Hollins while attending the FiddleFest at Hollins University. Check in was smooth and manager on duty was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and bed was comfy. Our room was on the side of the hotel with all the road traffic which was a little noisy but after 11 ish the traffic slowed down a good bit. Pool water was "dark" and we decided not to swim after all. The evening attendent at the desk was a bit rude, when we asked for bottled water, which we were offered earlier in the day as "free", he asked our names and if we were "Hampton Honors Reward Clients". He gave it to us anyways. Breakfast was averaqe and the tables were'nt being cleaned up fast enough for all the families wanting to eat. The "hot food" was cool. Overall the stay was average. We usually stay at Hampton Inn's but this wasn't the best experience we've had.

Hotel was very clean and quiet. A nice stop on our way to Virginia Tech.
