A little disappointed because the bathroom had used towels and trash that had not be cleaned out. When I checked in, the receptionist asked me to wait to see if a room was clean, she verified and then gave me the key, once situated, I noticed that the bathroom had towels neatly folded but also used washcloths hanging in the shower.
Older and sparsely furnished room. Clean and comfortable. Reasonable breakfast included.
Fastest checking I’ve ever experienced. The desk clerk was organized and very pleasant.
I wish it had a pool. I wish the cleaning staff would at lease come and vacuum my floor doing my 7 day stay there.

The room was not clean - tv screen was wiped with a wet cloth and streaked, barely able to watch. Room was very dusty which made allergies worse. Breakfast buffet was the worst I’ve ever experienced at a HI Express - eggs were not consumable. Luckily there was a Chick-Fil-A close by.
Stay was great, staff was great, the breakfst was EXCELLLENT, but the bed was a little hard and really short. It was like it was missing thr boxspring.
Hotel bedding was rather shabby. The hotel wanted a credit card for incidentals which there were none! The elevator was substandard...kind of rocky.
Holiday Inn Express was my go to hotel in the past. However this experience changed my opinion. My first room had a broken toilet causing me to change rooms and neither were what I originally reserved. The staff were friendly but unprofessional. There were two benches outside the front door where smokers sat throughout the day. I don't believe they were guests. You had to walk through a cloud of smoke to go through the only access door. I awoke each morning with a back ache because of the bed. There was a small table and two small kitchen chairs for furniture with no place to relax and read except the bed. Perhaps this was a privately owned hotel but it wasn't up to the standard of my visits to Holiday Inn Express visits in the past.
Refer inop & bulb burned out in reading lamp. Maintenance staff not available, so moved to another room.
I needed a place near Powhatan just for a night. Found this one on the web at the last minute, only spent from 11 pm to 7 am (just sleeping and showering) but everything was as it should be for $200 per night - clean, comfortable. Well done!
The place seemed clean, but whatever they used for cleaning was heavily fragranced and really gave the impression that it was there to cover something less desirable. Gave me a terrible headache for the two days I stayed. The air conditioner in the room was either too cold or too hot with no in between. The shower drain was too slow and had you standing in ankle deep water by the end of a shower. Had to wash my feet again once I got out. Would seek a different hotel if I ever need to stay in Midlothian again.
I have stayed at this hotel multiple times -- very convenient to Brandermill, good value for the price, and located close to many types of good chain restaurants. Breakfasts are good and fast as well.
Hotel staff was friendly, but not very efficient. Check in process was long. Room was nice and comfortable. Hotel a little difficult to find
The room was pretty nice. I had a semi-suite (separate areas to sit and for the bed, mini refrigerator, microwave oven). Watching sports in my free time in HD was enjoyable. The bed was king size and comfortable, which was great. It worked for me.
