This was a terrible property. It was under renovation, which I can understand. However, the rooms were disgusting, crawling with black mold everywhere. Nothing about the place was clean or even habitable. The front desk staff had no care whatsoever for the conditions or towards my efforts to live with them if just a few things could be handled, we were only going to be there one night. Zero willingness to help. Reeked of weed. They did refund my stay when asked, but then I needed to find another place last minute of course. This property should be removed from Orbitz until it passes some sort of standard. I have never written a negative review before... so this one is a winner there I guess.
There wasn't much to like about this property. It was an uncomfortable bed to sleep on with mold everywhere and a homeless man sleeping in the stairwell. The sheets had cigarette burns and the towels had stains. Our window was broken. Wouldn't recommend it but it was close to where I needed to be.
They didn’t have the smoking room which I reserved. I had to take another room that had a balcony so we could smoke. The balcony had cigarette butts all over it from previous guests and nasty cup filled with butts that had been there for days. The stairwell had old food spilled all over. This was during Covid 19. We sprayed disinfectant throughout the room and bed. The pool was filthy but closed and due to covid no breakfast, not that we would have eaten it.
The location to Downtown Richmond was great, very quite although right next to highway. Appeared to be a bit old but was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was voucher-ed at the attached diner..which was good. The only odd thing was all the sliding doors to patio's and balconies were now windows that did not open...not sure why but it was still fine and I would stay there again.
Very surprised by the drug and prostitution activity surrounding my unsecured part of the building. There was no iron nor working phone and i only had 10 working channels on my tv 6 were sports only and 3 were spanish speaking in which i regret never learning because the shows actually looked pretty good.
1. When I went to check in there were two workers at the desk. One was helping another guest check-in but was not understanding the language. I'm not sure what the other "worker's" job was except to put people on hold indefinitely. I finally stepped up to the desk after about 20 minutes. 2. When I booked the room, I am positive it was a non-smoking room but my reservation said smoking. No big deal except I couldn't get the worker to understand I wanted to change. She finally got that fixed and I was able to finally go to my room. 3. After about 20 minutes in my room (which was STILL a smoking room), I hear a keycard slide and my door opens. Luckily I had engaged the safety latch so I packed back up and went down the the front desk. 4. Again the desk agent didn't seem to understand what the problem was, luckily the other guests were there as well. Finally I got switched to a new non-smoking room (King to double Queen.) 5. About 30-45 minutes later, I hear a keycard and people trying again to come into my room! I was quite upset at this point, but bit my tongue. 6. About 20 minutes pass and I receive a phone call from the front desk. It was the other agent asking to verify my last name and that I was in room 208 (which he had just called.) 7. I was finally able to rest but it wasn't restful as I jumped at every sound, afraid the front desk had once again given my ro to someone else and at any moment a stranger would come into my room. 8. The property itself was rundown.
Staff did a wonderful job of making my trip a wonderful experience. Months ago, when I booked my trip through orbitz, there was a problem. Orbitz had, in print online, "Reserve now book later" statement. Orbitz reneged on the deal, saying it was not so. The manager Victor, took care of everything. He assisted in cancelling the trip and rebooking the trip without a glitch. I would stay there again. I highly doubt I will use orbitz again with all the trouble they gave me.
poorly kept property phone did not work. keypads did not work. No shower curtain in room but was finally placed there when I complained.
Welcomed cheerfully by attentive staff. Lobby area clean and neat. Entrance to rooms from parking lot was dirty. Breakfast is in attached grill. Limited selection for free breakfast but similar to what you can expect in similar class of hotels.
The room was nice, the toilet was dirty, the hallways smelled like smoke and very musty; overall the it was fine for a one night stay but not long term..... And the breakfast was horrible....we will not return.
For the price, it is one of the best hotel options in Richmond, VA. Rooms are decent, beds firm, nice pool, complimentary breakfast is a true breakfast at attached diner (get voucher from front desk). Safe area, quiet, close to route 95. Wifi is ok, tv comes with HBO and about 25 other chanels . Again, this is the best pla e for the pri e around.
Full breakfast with eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, juice, waffle irons, fruit, cereal....you name it. Wonderful in the morning after a long day on the road the night before. :) Thank you!
The hotel stay was worth the cost for weekday stay. They actualyl offer a breakfast voucher for the diner next door, which is really good. So that was a pleasant surprise. The price does increase on the weekend and at that point may not have been worth the cost for the overall stay. Unfortunately when I arrived my bathroom was not fully cleaned. Also they have pest control on site, which let me know that they have a bug problem, likely an outdoor bug problem as I saw a few large bugs by the window. What is fortunate is that the staff is very accommodating and understanding They sent housekeeping to clean my room. Overall for the price and location it is a 3.5, brought down to a 3 because of the hassle of cleaning my bathtub.
The room was fine for a brief stay while traveling on a long road trip. The room was smoke free but the hallway stunk of smoke. Beds were small but sufficient for our purpose. We got vouchers for breakfast at the adjoining diner.
Not the fanciest place, but was great for our family of 5 and dog to get some much needed rest and stretch our legs some after a very long day of driving. Breakfast was good too.
Good for the price, excelent location, excelent breakfast included
Visible black mold in shower/bath. Filter in air conditioning/heater very dirty. Plastic corner to box spring hanging loose with nail exposed. Ice machine in hallway has mold and dirt in the drain, making you wonder if the ice is safe to use. Will not stay there again. Room 102.
The hotel have and excellent location, near to food and stores. Great breakfast included.
Arrived about 10PM left at 8AM. Motel light was out so it took several turns to find the building. It was an ok/ fair place for an overnight stay.
