If "false advertisement" was a thing here on Expedia, this place would be the epitome!! NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING on this site relates to this dump. Check-in and front desk staff were friendly, but that's where "nice" ends! By the construction "goods" in the parking lot, they are at least trying to revamp the place, but it's obvious, nothing here has been "touched" in too many years!! Property is "unkept", room was simply not clean. The only thing remotely clean was the bed, but the linens were at least five years overdue for replacement. Apparently, I didn't get the memo about the 'hood either! lol. Slept withe my 9, unholstered on the night stand, and checked my vehicle at least five times during the night. Felt so uneasy here, I forfieted my prepaid second night and drove all night to go home after the event that brought me to town. I know, it's on me for staying here, but again, this place is way over-rated on Expedia, and Choice Hotels really needs to be a lil more selective in who they align with, IMO.
If you're going to "work" on the place, at least pic up the drop cloth at the end of the day, so guests don't have to wade through the construction zone.

Room was in disrepair. Could not close the glass door leading to the barren balcony. Some furniture broken , burn marks. Gave a coffee pot with no cups or coffee. Glass door to balcony was filthy. Cobwebs on ceiling. Blow dryer not functioning and the plastic was burned. Beds were clean and very comfortable, only saving grace. Oh and the waffle batter for breakfast was watered down, toaster did not work and coffee dispenser was erratic. Bathroom and sink were also cracked and in need of fixing.

We had two rooms. They were so dirty…. We stayed in non smoking & it smelled so bad like smoke so we went & bought some air fresheners. They didn’t help at all. There were holes in the sheets. There was mold in the shower & on the shower curtain. There was hair in the sinks & showers & stains on the towels. The smoke detector had been removed (which is illegal). There were dogs in the rooms next to us & we heard barking late at night in both sides of our rooms. We were not aware that the hotel was under construction & I think that should have been brought to our attention when reserving. We didn’t have anywhere else to stay so we checked out as early as we could the next morning.

The place was under renovation when we visited the hotel. The place was very dusty and there were even construction materials outside the room. I cancelled my booking and asked for a refund but up until this time the refund is not yet sent and the problem is not yet resolved.

I was devastated the first room they put us in had cockroaches running around the entire room. They were doing construction on the bottom half of the second part of hotel,and still renting the rooms above . I insisted to look in another area of the hotel they had offered, thst room was cleaner. When we went to get breakfast the next morning the ceiling was leaking around the food area. We left and ate elsewhere. I would not recommend this hotel in Richmond at all!!

ITS A DUMP, its bad, really bad, only got one room key for 4 adult men, only got 2 towels for the 4 of us, soap and shampoo dispenser in shower were empty, no remote for TV, when finally got remote, TV channels did not work, just said no signal, front desk guy does not speak good English, was always nowhere to be found, place smelled like puke, cat pee, or marijuana depending on where you were, flies everywhere, pool was gross, breakfast was a joke, everything was out of order, ice machine only worked when it wanted to, ni light bulbs in the lamps, etc etc, please find a different hotel/ worse place i every stayed at, Im not kidding.

Not haitful but not as described online

This place has a lot of potential but fell a bit short of expectations. The front of house staff was courteous. To be fair, they were renovating while we were there. It's definitely in need of some updating if they're going to charge the rates that they do. The non smoking units smelled like they were smoking units. All in all, we stayed. the pool look like it was a swamp. if you need a place to sleep for a night, it will do. If you're looking for a place to stay for a family vacation, I wouldn't recommend.
