Stayed here for a two night visit to Rhodes Town, I found the hotel to be in an excellent location and very comfortable. I'm a bit bemused by the negative reviews as the hotel fulfilled all our needs. Plenty of bars surround the hotel, with the beach a two minute stroll away. It's a ten minute walk to the bus station and old town. The Hotel street boasts some of the best reviewed restaurants in Rhodes Town. I would happily return.

The worst hotel experience ever, and we do travel often. There was absolutely nothing about this place that we liked. In fact, it ruined our holiday. The rooms are very very dirty with hair absolutely everywhere. We tried to avoid touching anything in our room as it was sticky and not properly cleaned. The worst part is the bedding- the sheets and pillows are just awful and smell of mold. Twice we were given "fresh" towels that were so dirty we were afraid to even touch them (with yellow/brown stains from previous guests). Air conditioning was broken in our room. The walls are made of paper and you can hear everything happening outside and in other rooms. Breakfast the same every day and not the best quality as per European standards. On our last day there was no power and we had to shower in pure darkness and in freezing water. Never again. This hotel is definitely not a 3 star hotel. Avoid at all cost.

The staff were great particularly the bar staff. Lovely people as were the receptionists and maids -could not fault them. Clean and comfortable. Air con excellent. Breakfast reasonable for price, TV, balcony. Responsive staff - dealing quickly and efficiently with any issues we had! Young drunken guests banging doors and shouting in early hours like 4 and 5 am. Lot of outside noise , chanting, screaming, drunken revellry. Room a little tired. Camp bed collapsed twice but was quickly repaired. Toilet seat eventually fell off and was immediately replaced. No lock on bathroom door - well there was - but it was bust. Minor gripes. I wouild go back here anytime. I bet it is greater still when the young party people have left the area. told Booking.com there were five of us and only four people on booking form so was not as big as we would have liked. This happens regularly with Booking.com. Sorry but true.

Our stay a Hotel Athena was really bad.. we've got a room on the 6th floor and there was a lot of noise coming from te bar street, so we couldn't sleep.. The airco in our room was leaking... everyday i went to the reception but the staff was a bit rude and not helpfull! After 5 days we've got an other room on the 1st floor, and also in this room the airo was leaking.During our firts night in our new room there was a big fight between young people on the hall so again we didn't sleep. The rooms where not very clean. I will definitly not recommend this hotel to other people. there are a lot of restaurants/supermarkets/cocktail bars close to the hotel, also the Old Town where you can find good restaurants (especially in the small streets) is close (15 min walk)

Very nice 3* hotel! We had double room with extra bed on 6th floor, it was pretty quiet and we slept ok, although bars are everywhere and next door hotel had loud young visitors. Spacious room, big balcony, little kitchen. Bathroom was a bit old, but clean and everything worked just fine, so no problems. Good air conditioning. Breakfast was ok, almost the same every day, but there was choice. Very good greek pastries, loved them! Nice bar with snacks and food. Pool area was nice, pool is 1,1m - 2,5m. There is no all day sun, so you have to move around for that. Or enjoy the shade, that is enjoyable if it's really hot. Hotel is very close to bars, lounges and tavernas, lots of choice. Many supermarkets close by, 2 ATMs across the street. Orion car rental just the opposite of hotel, they keep you a parking space. It's very crowded, so it's a good thing. Windy beach is 5 minutes walk and Elli beach 10 minutes. Windy beach really is windy (specially in the evenings) and has big pebbles, so we preferrred Elli beach which was nicer (although very crowded) with small pebbles and super clear water. Mandraki harbour, bus terminal and old town are nice 15 minutes walk, so really close. Because of good location I would go again.

Hotel Athena is good hotel with spacious rooms and big balcony. We had paid for a deluxe-room but it seemed to be same like other rooms. Personal is nice and helpful. Breakfast buffet was good a usual. Rooms were cleaned every day. The hotel has a little pool and water was quite cool and chilly.

The room was clean with all facilities and even was hot in the island you feel really nice. The breakfast was great with a lot of different choices.Pool is great to relax with a lot of services if you need something are people to serve you.The night in the bar is great nice atmosfere nice music!

after my hotel double booked,i went to the ATHENA HOTEL.greet by a lovely lady called margaret.given a very large room with a double bed and balcony.very clean done every day by staff, christos the manager made me very welcome, the pool is big with sunbeds all around, and it has a really good bar with attentive staff and a nice seating area near the road, this hotel i have recommended to other friends who have also enjoyed thier stay plenty of bars, restaurants to choose from the tact bar to mention just one the old town is just 15 to 20 minuetes away, the beach just 5mins away.if your looking to stay in rhodes i would strongly recommend the ATHENA for your stay.

Just arrived back from another holiday staying at the Athena, once again had a lovely stay, the Manager and all his staff are so helpful and friendly, excellent choice for breakfast and also have a lovely choice of snacks and meals. Love the Athena and have already booked for next year

The worst hotel room, better sleep on the street. Hotel cleaning service enter the room without knocking every morning round 8 o'clock while sleeping. If you need to relax run away, very noisy hotel walls made out of paper. I would not recommend it to anybody
