Not bad. Location to convention center was perfect. Room was okay. Expected a more apartment like suite. The breakfast was ready made to microwave. Would have preferred fresh. Waffles station was was a hit with the kids.
I really wanted to like this property more than I did. On the fence whether or not I'd stay there again. Echoing the other reviews, positives are: - rooms were clean, - staff super friendly and helpful, - great location (adjacent to a couple mall/shopping areas, Whole Foods down the street, easy on/off freeway, convention center close, mini-golf nearby too!), - non-smoking (which is nice compared to the casino hotels) - includes breakfast (though pretty basic) The not so greats (for me at least): - Thin walls between rooms, which is kind of a drag when you just want to relax or fall asleep. I had no problem listening to the parents in the room next door talking to their kids. At least it was just talking...could have been worse I suppose. - If you're on the side facing Virginia Street, you're going to get street noise. Ask for a room away from Virginia Street if that's something you want to avoid. - The bathroom door isn't a door. Rather it's a sliding barn door, which is a little lacking for privacy. With the door slid "shut", you can still see into the bathroom and hear everything. - The A/C unit is loud (also mentioned by another reviewer). Got woken up several times each night when it kicked on. A few minor quibbles: - Beds are comfortable, but they are what I'll describe as light as balsa wood. If you just sit on the corner of a bed, the whole mattress shifts. Or if you're sitting in bed leaning against the headboard, the whole mattress will start sliding away from the wall. Would be nice if the mattresses were attached to the bed frame or something so you don't have to keep adjusting the mattress. - The refrigerator door opens the wrong way. It should open from the room side. Instead it opens from the wall side, which makes opening a little more difficult. Would be easy enough to switch the handing of the door. - There are two desk areas, along with a rolling table, which is stored under one of the desk areas (which is a little wonky when you want to use the desk). But there is only one chair in the room. So if two people want to be working at the desk areas at the same time, only one gets to sit. Or if you pull out the rolling table for dinner, only one person gets to sit for dinner. Could use a second chair in the room. There is a sofa and an ottoman, which I suppose would suffice, but not ideal. What would prevent me from staying here again are the thin walls, lack of bathroom privacy, and not being able to have a room away from Virginia Street.
I stayed in Home 2 suites on business trip. The hotel was very clean. The staff was extremely nice. We had to leave early and the staff provided yogurt so we would have breakfast. Friendly staff and a great place to stay.
I was in Reno for business and chose this hotel due to past favorable visits to other Home2's. The hotel is clean and the staff was professional. The breakfast is the standard Home2 fare. The big problem I had is with the wall mounted HVAC units. OMG, it sounded like a freight train passing by 4 feet from my head! It was impossible to have it on during the night. It's inexcusable to install units like that. I expect much higher standards from a Hilton property. I'm currently staying in another Home2 and the HVAC system is whisper quiet. Whomever chose those units should be forced to install one in their own bedroom. I'll never there again.
This hotel was a good surprise. The location is wonderful, close to Reno sparks center, mall (very big Macys) and restaurants. The room (one bed room suite) is like a swanky modern apartment. I was on first floor, the ceilings were 10 feet plus high. The walls had stucco look so almost looked like being in a home. The bathroom have barn doors which cannot be locked but not a problem. The kitchen has big refrigerator, full size microwave, full dining set but no cooktop. I was given a portable induction cooker with a compatible 8" frying pan, when I asked the front desk. Enough for simple quick meals. They have shampoo and bodywash pumps in the bathroom which I like but conditioners was in small bottles. My room were pretty quiet. There were 2 car charging stations in the parking lot. Only problem I faced, I could not watch Tiger winning the PGA tour because they did not have that channel.I missed that part. I will come back to this hotel if I have to stay in south Reno. And wait it is NON-SMOKING.
For a new Home2 Suite, I had expected the decor and the rooms to pop. I choose this specific hotel chain when I travel for the many amenities. Being new to Reno, I was underwhelmed. The rooms were a nice beat western. The staff were pleasant but not the caliber I’d expect from a Hilton hotel. I’m not sure I’d stay here again. Reno has lots of hotel options.
The Home2 Suites is located in an excellent location. It is walking distance from the shopping mall and there are many restaurants within walking distance as well. Nice big rooms with a full size refrigerator.
This place is centrally located to a lot of shopping and food so really I have to say it is great for that. As a long term stay it is nice but lacks burner and pans but not bad other than no seating for the table you get. Not as nice as other Hilton hotels but again the location here in Reno is great.
I chase powder for 2 to 3 months during the winter, so stay at a few different brands of hotel chains. Will be staying in the Home2 Suites more often when they are available on my trips. Very clean and have a full size refrig/freezer.
