The room was clean and comfortable. The TV was small and the room was only partly carpeted. The bathroom was large, with a full tub. We visited the area for a popular local event and were lucky to get the room at all, so we paid more than the room is worth. I hope the usual rate is more reasonable.

Large, clean room. Lobby needs upgrading. Rooms are spacious, lobby not so welcoming

Deceptively simple looking, this hotel was clean and pleasant. The room was spacious. A firm, but comfortable bed and basic amenities. For a few day stay, it was well worth it.

Chose this hotel for it's proximity to an event we had to attend the following day. Got a wonderful night's sleep and a good breakfast before getting out for the day. Just what we needed.

From the outside, I didn't think that the hotel would be nice..but when I got inside, I was pleasantly surprised! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

too many renovations, beds where not very confortable, and cable had issues

The room had been completely renovated and looks great. Bathroom was large and clean, the flooring was a wood laminate and ceramic tile rather than carpet. Everything looked light, open and clean, kind of European. One of the nicest looking rooms we have stayed in.

This hotel was good, only the thing that we had cold shower.

In process of renovating and lucky enough to be in a renovated room - faint paint smell, unfortunately lobby and halls smell of smoking past. Room was functional and comfortable. Included continental breakfast was nothing fancy - breads and cereal. Staff nice and helpful. Good enough for an overnight stay for a family of 4 at decent price. Value should improve once renovations finish.

Average hotel but good location. clean room. Would recommend to friend.

This might be due to new staff or new management, but when we checked in the front desk agent was working with another guest to get them into their room. She gave them a key to a room that a different party had not checked out of yet and was really just unfamiliar with all of the computer systems, etc. Another staff member assisted me and I was thankfully allowed to check in early. However, the following morning at 9:00 am (nowhere close to check out time) a staff member entered our room without knocking and that was startling as we had just woken up...just seems like no one has any idea when people are checked in or out of the rooms. Continental breakfast was decent and they allowed pets, so all in all it was ok, but the disorganization would probably keep me from staying here again.

It was what I'd expect from a cheap hotel. My biggest issue was that I chose a more expensive room marked non-smoking. The room I was in had definitely been smoked in. The breakfast was pretty bad too. They had frozen waffles set out so they thawed and were soggy. Overall, I got what I paid for in a good location.

In a good location in relation to Poughkeepsie and Hyde Park. Room was clean and comfortable.

This is one of the best Super8 motels we have stayed at in all respects but one. The "breakfast included" was dismal. Only one kind of cereal, no fruit, ran out of cinnamon rolls and yogurt, no bagels. Coffee was good but don't count on much more. All in all though, we were not displeased as everything else was quite nice. Staff friendly, spacious room and very reasonable price and good location for our visit to the Culinary Institute.

Good experience. TV volume did not work very well and cable went down at one point, but got it back with the help of the front desk. Charged too much for pets in room. Room heating system was difficult to regulate to right temperture.

nice employees clean rooms and comfortable bed just what I needed, reasonable price for out of town contractor working in area.

Just what we needed -- a comfortable place to sleep. (Only missing item was a box of tissues. Fortunately we had our own. I'm sure we could have asked.) Like the "green" policy. Nice restaurant nearby.

I stayed in a non-smoking room, king sized bed on the first floor for 3 nights. The room was very large, easily could have fit two kings. The mattress was firm and had very warm blankets. The heater worked extremely well, but there was a slight odor when I first turned it on. From what I could tell, the room had always been non-smoking. There was a mini-fridge, however it was set to freeze everything. There is a microwave in the lobby however, so that was not a problem. The room was clean, and the staff did a nice job of putting the room back in order every day. A few negatives about the room- One was a small thing; the hotel only provided shampoo and not conditioner. The second, a much larger issue, is noise. While the halls are quiet and the staff is quick to respond to noisy people in the halls/common areas, I ended up awake half the night because I could hear the ceiling creaking as the people above me walked around their room. If you're going to stay at this hotel, a second floor room is a must- but then you'll have to use the stairs because there is no elevator. The breakfast is standard fair- plain bagels, two kinds of cereal, and some mini-muffins. The juice machine was functional although the juices were rather off color from what I expect orange or apple juice to look like. The toaster was too enthusiastic, and had to be watched constantly or the bagel would burn. There is no sign posted to this effect. The staff wasn't overly friendly, but did everything I'd expect. I had no problem checking in late, 9pm. The hotel is in a very good location- it's about 5 minutes drive from the local mall and maybe 15 to downtown. I was easily able to drive around to Poughkeepsie and New Paltz without stressing out about the drive 'home'. The only thing I'd mention is from Route 9 it looks like there is only one entrance to the hotel (which is off of a one way street), but if you go around the other hotel and restaurant in the same plaza then you come out to an exit which goes out to a light, allowing you can turn in either direction. For an inexpensive hotel, it met my expectations in most respects. The only issue was the noisy ceiling but a second floor room would solve that.

The room was clean but the hallway had a horrible smell and the carpets were filthy. There was not an elavator so I had to carry my bags up the stairs. The staff was very nice and the location was great.

Stayed overnight for a graduation. Convenient location on route 9. Continental breakfast include. Very simple, but convenient. Room as clean. Staff friendly.
