Kimpton Hotel Vintage Portland

4.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

When looking for a recent staycation getaway within Portland, I spent a huge amount of time looking through different hotel listings. The Kimpton Vintage looked to offer just the right blend of character and cleanliness. Upon arrival I was so glad to see I hadn't been wrong in my assessment.

Kimpton Vintage was a beautiful hotel with kind and courteous staff.

Portland has so much to offer and the Hotel Vintage is located by all the fun! Staff is courteous and helpful! Room is slightly small but with a comfortable bed. Lobby bar serves tasty cocktails and we enjoyed a couple rounds of pool in the game room. Check out the food trucks nearby! Lots of shopping as well!

Hotel was very good for a business trip. Friendly staff, nice, clean rooms, etc. No complaints!

Location, location, location-this hotel gets 5 stars for being in the heart of the city and walking distance to all the sites as well as public transit. Minor issue with street noise, especially early morning trash trucks but that goes with city hotels. Great older building completely updated with all modern conveniences and decor. Staff was very helpful with valet parking and local directions. Housekeeping was a little spotty especially on the weekend but the manager comped parking for the service shortfalls.

a great experience overall. the hotel had good ambiance

This hotel is mid-renovation and re-branding and it shows. I would wait a while before attempting to book here again, because while it shows promise there are a LOT of kinks being worked out right now. I was moved in the evening from my huge suite to a tiny room (the only one available) because of a backed up sink and bathtub. The elevator broke and we had to use the stairs to get to our room on the 7th floor. Room service brought me coffee without bringing sugar, and so on. There was a spider in my shower. It took 30 minutes for valet to bring my car up and there was NO ONE else around.

I stayed here for one night as the Marriot next door was booked. I wish I just stayed here the entire time. I was with friends and plan to return with my wife. Great atmosphere and rooms. The aromatherapy thing was actually nice and I am far from an aromatherapy type guy. Highly recommend staying here whether it be for business or pleasure. Not a family place though so if you have children you should stay else where.

I had heard that Portland's transit system was amazing, so I just had to go visit the city and see. It was everything I expected it would be. The hotel was nice. It was right over a really good restaurant and it was near the totally awesome bookstore, Powell's.

My girlfriend and I went down to Portland for the weekend for Valentines Day. What made it 5 star was the staff and the restaurant attached to the hotel, which I would also give 5 stars. You wont regret staying here.

I really enjoy the stay:) We just stay for a night. And the hotel is so sweet. The man at the desk was so kind. If there is a chance, I will still stay in there in portland.

Kimpton hotels expect to be held to a high standard and this hotel meets such a standard without being in any particular respect outstanding as compared with other luxury hotels in Downtown Portland.

Was supposed to get top floor, but got 7th floor. No view of any kind. Had to request coffee machine which was never serviced unless called. Room which was advertised as large was actually a small room with a poorly lit and poorly furnished ell. Parking was an additional $37 per night. The good bed sheets don't make this a three star, let alone four star hotel. This room should go for $200 not $600 per night. Never again. The ice bucket was always left with melted ice in it, and wine glasses never washed or replaced. Bad

I had an early business meeting the next day and was allowed to get a hotel room in Downtown Portland. I chose this hotel and it was good! Clean room. Very nice. The staff was very nice too. I was only there 1 night but would stay here again. The only complaint was my view from my window was of the building next door. Not the best view, but nothing I can do about that. Also, the top floor was hot. Not the rooms, theres AC, but getting off the elevator it went from cool to hot and was very odd. Still, a nice place.

Fantastic location in the heart of Portland. Ever staff person we encountered was friendly and responsive. We got a great bar/restaurant recommendation from the valet as we checked in. So we went there for dinner(right next door). We didn't like our assigned room so asked to move (Only a skylight with no windows looking out!). This was easily accomplished with a smile. I will strongly recommend this hotel to others. An added bonus was that we got 50% off the parking fee for driving a hybrid!

First time in Portland and found the staff top notch. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating.

Great hotel, very clean room, friendly staff and perfect location.

The best part was seeing Tyson, the doorman's, smiling face when we pulled up after a long day of driving. Very welcoming, like coming home.

A good hotel that is centrally located in Portland. My room did not have a window, which was a little disappointing, but otherwise I had a pleasant stay.

What a wonderful hotel! The staff was friendly, courteous and so helpful! The location was perfect, right in the heart of downtown and we were within walking distance of so many things! We are not alcohol or coffee drinkers but would have loved to have been offered an alternative--juice or soda for example. I also loved the valet service! Our room was quiet and spacious! We stayed in the 1000 Sq Ft Townhouse. There are a few things that I wish were better about the room itself--the carpet needed a good vacuuming, especially around the edges and stairs. The toilet upstairs often required some jiggling to get it to stop running. One side of the king bed was quite saggy and my husband felt like he was leaning the whole night-I slept wonderful on my side though! The room showed a bit of its age from wear around the bottom of the bathroom vanity and in the bathtub around the jets (also needs to be re-grouted). I feel like I'm being very picky with these things, but they are simply things I would expect not to have in a $300+ a night room in a 4 star hotel, but really we had a lovely stay and were overall happy with it!
