2BR Upper unit - Sleeps 4 - Trendy Area - Walk Everywhere
Summary:
Welcome to our apartment!
Location, location, location! A walker's paradise with a walk score of 99, our 900 sq ft listing is fully equipped with brand-new stainless steel appliances, blazing fast Wifi, and can sleep up to 4 guests comfortably.
Built in 1907, our charming yet modern and updated home, newly remodeled in Fall of 2021, is located just steps from historic SE Hawthorne Blvd—less than two minutes' walk from bars, restaurants, independent bookstores, and shops.
The Space:
Nestled in the vibrant SE Hawthorne district, our home is just minutes away from dozens of eclectic, independent clothing and antique shops. A few blocks away, you’ll find Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, Starbucks, local coffee shops, Portland's famous Powell's Bookstore, McMenamin's Bagdad Theater and Pub, various bars, and an array of food carts offering diverse ethnic cuisines.
At The Hawthorne Hangout, nothing is more important to us than giving our guests easy, quick, walkable access to the best that Portland has to offer. We're also just a nine-minute drive across one of Portland's famous bridges to downtown and the Pearl District!
Our beautifully remodeled, modern 2-bedroom, 1-bath home is in the heart of SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland, Oregon, boasting a walk score of 99. Designed with luxury and comfort in mind, our space is truly one of a kind in this area. Adequate space featuring two brand-new queen beds with comfortable down comforters, duvets, and large pillows.
The bedrooms include large closets, dressers for clothing storage, and luggage racks for convenience. One bedroom is bed-frame free due to the ceiling angle but is ensuite with the bathroom attached. Each nightstand has bedside lamps with USB ports for charging your phone and other electronics. The unit is equipped with brand-new stainless steel appliances, a new couch, and stylish furniture for your comfort and convenience. The kitchen features quartz countertops and a large table that can seat up to eight for small gatherings. We provide plenty of dishware, cooking utensils, and a single-serve coffee machine with coffee pods.
The living room has a smart TV with Netflix and many other channels for your viewing pleasure, and high-speed WiFi is available throughout the house. We supply shampoo, conditioner, body wash, laundry soap, cleaning supplies, and extra towels for our guests' comfort. This space is perfect for business travelers, families, or a quick weekend getaway, with ample room for everyone. Enjoy nearby parks, nature in the Columbia River Gorge, or dine at one of the city's many renowned restaurants. The home also includes heating, air conditioning, and a gas fireplace in the living room.
There is free parking with room for two vehicles in the driveway. Please note that this is an urban area with nearby traffic and walkable restaurants, which may not suit everyone.
There is a short yet steep flight of stairs to enter and exit the home, so those with accessibility issues should consider this feature. The home is well-lit with windows in every room. We’ve added touches to make this place feel like home, including local books, board games, and an interactive map where guests can share their origins. It’s our way of showcasing what this fun city has to offer.
Thanks for considering our home, and we hope you'll stay!
The Neighborhood:
Often compared to San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, Portland’s Hawthorne District is renowned for its vintage shops, restored theaters, street performers, and vibrant creative characters. This eclectic mix makes it one of the city’s top destinations for both locals and visitors. Adding to its charm, the neighborhood boasts a standout food scene, making a day spent on the bustling Southeast street an effortless delight.
Getting Around:
This centrally located spot offers numerous convenient transportation options to help you explore the city with ease. The neighborhood is highly walkable, with an array of dining, shopping, and entertainment options just a short stroll away. Enjoy a leisurely walk to nearby cafes, restaurants, and boutique shops that capture the unique charm of Portland. Portland is also known for being exceptionally bike-friendly, with dedicated bike lanes and the BIKETOWN bike share program available. There are bike racks nearby, making it easy to explore the city on two wheels.
TriMet, Portland’s public transit system, provides a great way to get around the city. The #75 bus line runs along SE Cesar E Chavez Blvd, offering easy access to various parts of Portland. Additionally, the nearby #14 Hawthorne bus line can take you directly to downtown and other key areas. Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are readily available in the area, offering a convenient way to travel further afield or when you’re in a hurry. Traditional taxis can also be hailed or scheduled in advance.
If you have a car, on-street parking is available, although it may be limited during peak hours. Be sure to check parking signs for any restrictions. For longer stays or guaranteed spots, there are nearby parking garages and lots that offer hourly or daily rates. Portland also has several car-sharing services, such as Zipcar and Getaround, which provide the flexibility of a rental car without the need for traditional rental agencies. With these transportation options, you'll find it easy to navigate Portland and enjoy all the city has to offer. Enjoy your stay and happy exploring!
Other Things to Note:
This property is the top floor of a duplex with guests staying under you.
** Please note this property requires steps to the front door and an internal staircase inside to reach the listing - the stair case isn't long but the angle is on the steeper side
