Loved the staff and the hospitality we were shown. The staff really worked hard to make us feel special and well taken care of. The resort itself is by far one of the nicer ones in the area. The resort is relatively small, is clean, and quaint with nice restaurants (2) and lounging areas. The food and drinks were surprisingly yummy (and we consider ourselves a little food snobby-we love GOOD food). Our villa was spacious and private. We LOVED our outdoor shower (there is also one inside). There are not as many amenities because the resort is smaller. No game room or activities. They have two kayaks so if other people have them, you have to wait your turn. They were available when we wanted them, so maybe not a big issue. Our only real complaint is that it was more expensive then we were expecting. The food was quite expensive (we didn't stay all-inclusive) with the average meal for 2 costing around $100 USD. Drinks were also not cheap (average cocktail $14 USD). A spa treatment (50 minute massage and 30 minute facial) cost $236 USD and that was with a promotion! They really nickel and dime you for stuff which adds up quickly. Overall, a GREAT place to stay. You'll feel like royalty. The staff will make you feel like family. If you're rich, even better.

WE LOVED EVERYTHING VERY NICE STAFF AND AMAZING RESORT

Great service and friendliness of staff. Food was good. Drinks average. Need more wine selection. Love the layout of our room. Was a little dated in our pool area. Great service at the beach.

The hotel was excellent! While it rained most of the time during our stay, the room and outdoor courtyard layout were very accommodating for this. The one complaint I had is that there were a lot of mosquitoes and both of the restaurants only had outdoor seating.

Do yourself a favor and book your stay here! My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and it was one of favorite vacations thanks to the staff at Viceroy! We live in Las Vegas and work in the hospitality industry so we already have high levels of expectations and the staff at our resort met and exceeded all our needs! They were also extremely sincere and kind which made our stay feel much more personable. And the villa and the resort is set in the mayan jungle; so it was very private, romantic, and you really feel like you are a world away. Special Kudos to particular staff members that made our stay truly magical and memorable: Rosie, Oscar, Omar, Alberto, Fatima, Jorge, Angel, Edgar, Victor, and Roger--you all are the Best!! We look forward to a return visit for an anniversary. Thank you for making our honeymoon the best ever!

the resort is impeccable and secluded. Private, with its own rainforest. The staff is second to none, food is amazing. If I had to say the worst about this place it would be the wifi that frequently disconnects you. But since you are there to disconnect who cares.

Amazing villas with amazing staff that know you by name and cater to your every need.

The resort, the service, the food, and the villa were all outstanding! Our room was beautiful and relaxing. The staff go out of their way to make sure the highest level of service is provided. The food was amazing and each night our dining experience was new and different. Viceroy has covered every last detail all the way to check out. Pros: Very relaxing and calm resort, Amazing Villas, Excellent Food, Five Star Service. Cons: In full disclosure, the neighboring resort can get loud at times for a couple of hours. That being said, I still give it 5 starts and will go back for another trip.

Everything was top-notch. Especially liked the fact that it's an adults only resort but a family with children under 16 did pop up on the day I left.

Nice resort. Food great. Rooms were clean. Beach was nice and clean.

Hotel was super I was there for a wedding and the hotel did a great job with everything

We loved our stay at the Viceroy. It was so relaxing and the staff was awesome. Especially, Marcos who we made a point of being in his service area each day. It was just what we were looking for in a vacation. The food was very good and everything we ordered was outstanding. We were there for part of our honeymoon and are planning on going back each year for our anniversary.

Breakfast was amazing, staff was excellent. Dinner service was a bit slow, but while one is lounging around it is not that important. We took a car into town 2 nights for dinner and found the food to be excellent. Omar made excellent suggestions. The room was very private, outside shower was great. Plunge pool a nice touch. The place is perfect for rest and relaxation.

My stay at the Viceroy Riviera Maya was fabulous, absolutely fabulous. The grounds are so beautiful to walk..to walk through the nature trails that are beautifully manicured with peaceful sitting places along the way. There is even one sitting place near the water falls. The spa is absolutely gorgeous. And, the messages are out of this world. I had an outdoor message. The pool, beach, and the food/drink service are all outstanding. Now, for the villa. I absolutely love, love the villa. The quality of the workmanship is outstanding. The layout is outstanding. The amenities, including the linen are outstanding. I relaxed in my villa pool, slept in my hammock, and showered in my outdoor shower! Oh! And, my yoga classes with Sam were also outstanding. The staff are very attentive and very pleasant. This place is now top on my list of best getaway places. It is very peaceful and safe. I will be there again, next year. PS---I went alone, a single woman.

We had a wonderful time. It was a small intimate venue with great service, great food, and great amenities. Would go back anytime and certainly recommend it to family and friends.

Peaceful, luxurious in a jungle boutique sort of way. Attention to detail in the design and every little touch is spot on for what this resort wants to be. The service is impeccable. The setting is exquisite. The food is outstanding. Great massages, food, reading, and relaxing. Thanks to [...] and the many others who made our stay great!

The Tides is in a word, perfect. The staff is attentive, kind and english-speaking. The grounds are well maintained and the hotel layout unique. The spa is an oasis of serenity. The food is delicious (a bit pricey). And, the margaritas are served on the rocks with the finest tequila. Seven girls celebrating their 40th birthdays enjoyed every minute of their vacation at the Tides without a single complaint. It was sheer bliss.

Tides is a small boutique hotel and spa on the Riviera Maya but apart from the crush of other tourists. Setting in coastal forest on the beach and low number of very tasteful villas makes for personal space, calm and quiet. Staff is top shelf, knowing exactly where the line is between being attentive and being invasive... and really will follow through on your special requests, whether these be for a special meal or arranging an outing. The hotel spa is also excellent and comparable in quality of service to high end in the USA. Very highly recommended!!

If you want luxury, pampering and peace go here. The resort looks better in person than it does on the site. The rooms are amazing. Take the outdoor shower... you will never want to shower indoors again. Don't go to the tides if you are worried about every dollar you will spend. But compaired to the all inclusives it is almost the same cost...unless you drink all day long.
