We stayed during the New Year holidays and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. During check-in one of the people at reception, a wonderful and friendly girl named Pia, personally took care of us, took us to our room and gave us a great welcome that actually set the tone for the whole wonderful experience. Pia made sure that during our 8-day stay we never had a problem and she was very responsive to all requests and questions that we had. The three of us give Pia a big 'Thank you' for her very positive attitude. I have to say that all staff was very friendly and smiling. They made sure we were welcome at the hotel facilities. The room we had had a stunning view of the ocean. Viewing the sun-set from our room's terrace was amazing. The room was maintained clean and well ordered all the time. it was great indeed. The food was also very good - the buffet has a large selection of foods from all over the world. The hotel offers shuttles from/to the reception area to the outside road, which we found to be very helpful. I am saying this because the complex is on a hill and the shuttle saves much energy. The hotel has excellent excursions desk. The person who took care of us, Khun Tok, accommodated our needs very nicely, so big thumb up for him. We visited Phi-Phi - another amazing experience, and there are various trips going all over the place. So anyone interested should contact the Excursion desk and Khun Tok. Finally, we are very grateful to have selected the hotel for our stay in Phuket. Next time on the island we definitely will stay in the same hotel. Khun Nina, the reservation manager, did an amazing job to choose a great room for us, to arrange our New Year party reservations, and also to assist with questions during the stay. Thank you all you people at the hotel and hope to see you soon! We fully recommend this hotel for a stay in Patong.

Our family of 6 stayed at the Novotel Phuket Resort for two weeks over Christmas. We loved every minute of our time there. We had a family suite which accommodated the 6 of us beautifully. The children loved having their own space, and especially loved the playstation in their room. My husband and I loved having our own space as well, as well as the full-sized refrigerator. The room was well-kept and the housekeeping staff was always super friendly. The grounds are beautiful, and the view is absolutely stunning. Breakfast was included in our room rate, and this was one of the kids' favorite parts of each day. They filled themselves on french toast, pancakes, eggs and fruit each morning. I have seen some critical reviews that the breakfast is the same every day. I don't know how they could offer more! This breakfast is top-notch. We have traveled to over 30 countries in the last three years, so we know a good hotel breakfast. The only complaint I had was that the coffee is not very good. For a good coffee, you must pay an additional charge. After breakfast my kids would all go wherever they wanted! For two of them, that meant kids' club. At first I was disappointed with the small size of the kids club, but my kids LOVED it. I cannot stress enough how impressed I was with J-Wi, the supervisor. She became my kids' "cool auntie" while we were there. If they finished breakfast before 10am when kids' club opens, they would set an alarm on their watch so they would be there right at 10, and they complained about what they were missing if we went on an excursion! They made crafts, watched movies, played games and just had a good time. This was perfect on days when they needed a break from the sun. My other kids would rush from breakfast to the activities pool and swim all morning, until it was time for boxing lessons. Joy and Mad do a great job with the kids in Thai boxing. My oldest son went as often as he could. Mad also does a great job with the water aerobics classes for adults. Overall, Tok, the activities manager, does a great job with his team, and he is SO friendly! By the time we left, we felt like he was an old friend. While the kids were busy with their activities, I took advantage of the spa. I had a wonderful Thai massage. I would not recommend the pedicure, only because they don't have the option for gel, nor do they have the resources to soak gel off if you have it. I used the gym several times as well. It was clean and never too busy in the morning. One thing I cannot comment on is the lunch and dinner options on site. We ate at the buffet one night, but otherwise we ate offsite every day. We appreciated the free shuttle to the mall each evening. We didn't always go to the mall, but we could walk anywhere from there. Be aware that you must have a queue card for each person in your family for the shuttle. You can get these cards one hour in advance of the shuttle you want to take. We did take advantage of the happy hour specials for drinks. At approx. $4/drink, it is still pricey, but much better than paying $8 for a cocktail! In addition to price, my complaint on the happy hour special is that you must order two of the exact same drink to get the special. Even though the prices are all the same on different drinks. That didn't make sense to me. Also, they will not make variations on drinks for happy hour. For example, I wanted to order 2 vodka sodas. Soda water is included in the special, and other vodka drinks are included in the special...but a vodka soda is not. This seemed like bad business, and I ended up buying vodka and soda water from the family mart by the beach and mixing my own drinks. That being said, the staff was very friendly and always knew who we were and our room number. Mat was always especially friendly and worked extremely hard. Because my husband has Accor Gold status, we were invited to an afternoon tea each day. This was wonderful! After a huge breakfast, I usually came to the tea for snack in lieu of lunch. The kids loved it too. The staff in the V-lounge and at the Accor Gold desk were extremely friendly and helpful. We participated in the Christmas Eve celebration and dinner. This was a wonderful event! It would have been nice if wine and beer was included, considering the high price for the event, but it really was a wonderful night! The band was excellent, even though very few people were dancing or even stayed late to enjoy it. Overall, I highly recommend this resort to families staying in Patong Beach. The negatives are few and trite, but the positives are too many to list, and significant. Thanks for making our Christmas so special!

It’s difficult for me to say anything bad about this country and it’s wonderful people, but my experience with this hotel was frustrating to say the least. Part of it is my fault for picking a hotel that I wasn’t familiar with. I generally opt for high-end properties with great service and amenities - and that includes talented bilingual staff. This time I decided to pick my hotel based on a great location and a good price. Lesson learned. First of all, let’s talk about the good. There is quite a bit. 1) First and foremost, this hotel has a perfect location. It’s perched on a bluff overlooking the non-crowded part of the world famous Patong beach. You are walking distance from the war zone, yet far enough that you actually have some peace and quiet. And you can easily walk to the beach or you can take the complementary shuttle which is convenient and comes every few minutes. 2) The air-conditioners work very well in the hotel rooms, which is important when you are in 90° weather with 100 percent humidity. I was very happy with this, even though my girlfriend was freezing cold entire trip LOL. 3) The response time for guest services was very fast. I made several calls to room service and housekeeping for ice, towels, bell desk to come get my bags, etc. Almost every time, they arrived lightning fast. It was impressive. 4) The breakfast buffet was pretty good. Good variety and great coffee machines. Fair price. 5) my room was acceptable, and I believe for the price it was fair. Nice big California king bed, private access to the pool off my patio. We were pleased. Now let’s get to the not so wonderful parts: 1) this hotel needs an upgrade. It’s almost sad, because you can tell that one time it was one of the nicest hotels in town. Now it just seems like it needs a facelift. 2) The common areas are uncomfortably hot. Trying to sit in the lobby, or any of the restaurants is an excruciating experience. I just sat there and sweated - and I wasn’t alone. If I want to sweat I’ll be hot, I go to the beach. If I am in the comfort of my own hotel, I would like to feel comfortable. They were not even fans working in the common areas. It was just an uncomfortable hot box. 3) The staff is not bilingual. A few of them speak very butchered English, but in general it was very difficult to communicate with anybody. Perhaps I’m being presumptuous, and maybe if I was at a higher level category hotel this would not be an issue. But trying to have basic conversations regarding Taxis, activities, directions, etc. was painstaking and almost impossible. This is what you get when you pick a three star hotel. It’s difficult for me to say anything bad about anybody, however, because everybody was smiling and trying to make me happy. Just didn’t work. 4) The breakfast buffet, as noted above, was pretty good, but the service was dreadful. My girlfriend and I sat during breakfast watching our dirty plates accumulate on our table, as well as our used paper-thin napkins which were not being replaced. There were only a few people in the dining room in the morning, and plenty of staff, yet our dirty dishes remained in clear view of everybody. 5) I tried to call a taxi 4 different times from the lobby. The first time they told me there were no taxis available. The other three times they just simply told me they could not call me an taxi. Instead, they want to me to use their shuttle to take me down to the street where I had to barter and argue with taxi drivers who are always trying to rip you off. We’ve all been there, it’s wonderful to have a hotel call a taxi for you and tell the driver where you are going. You also know you’re going to get a fair price. It’s not gonna happen at this resort. And trust me, it’s too far up the hill for you to walk down by yourself. Not to mention the weather and the sweating and the heat. 6) In 30 years of travel, I never check out of hotels. It’s a relic from the past, in my opinion, and completely unnecessary. They have my credit card and it’s never an issue anywhere else in the world. As I was loading my bag into my private transportation to check out this morning, I was basically accosted by the bell desk demanded that I check out. I took a deep sigh and ran back up the stairs to quickly check out, and was greeted by at least 50 tourists all waiting to check in, and a staff that was extremely busy. The bell desk told me just to wait in line to check out. My girlfriend was in the car, my bags were in the car, and I was not about to do that. I told him he could check me out right now or they can run my credit card and I will leave. They told me just to leave. Which I happily did. Let me sum it up. Some of my displeasure rests on my own shoulders. The price looked too good, and generally that means it really is too good to be true. I don’t know what the star ranking actually was, but this is a solid three star hotel with a lot of potential. If you are used to top-notch service, and like to have the simple things taken care of while you are traveling, this is not the place to be. Once again, The people are incredibly kind, tried very hard, but the communication issues were unbearable. I’m a pretty experienced world traveler, and I am definitely not somebody who expects everybody to speak English. But at the same time, I am used to staying in hotels where the staff is truly bilingual and I am able to have conversations. This is not the case at this hotel. I guarantee you if I stayed at the Banyan Tree or the Four Seasons, I would’ve not had any issues. But keep in mind I would’ve paid triple what I paid at this hotel. If I had to do it over again, I would be happy to pay more to not be frustrated or uncomfortable on my vacation. I would recommend this hotel to families on budgets, for people who don’t mind walking a lot. I would not recommend this hotel to people who are used to staying in nice properties and like great service and more attention to detail. It does not exist here.

Our 4 times here and we found every member of staff to do all they could go above and beyond for customers. Check in was extremely efficient and warmly welcomed by Guest Service Manager Patty. The location is always perfect for the beach and night life. Overall this is an excellent mid range option for staying in Patong with excellent service, excellent value and excellent location!

definetly thank you Novotel from making my holiday wonderful and memorable for me and my wife, specially to Rose of Reception who help us to make our stay amazing. Thanks also to all staff who always greet you warmly. :) :)

We spent 10 days staying at the Novotel Phuket and had an amazing time. Everyone at the hotel is exceedingly warm and kind. We stayed with our 2 young kids in a family room and it was one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever had. Everyone who works at the hotel was fantastic but we especially appreciated how awesome Tok and J-Wi were with our kids. Tok, J-Wi and the team (Joy, Aod, Few, Mad, and Wut) made it so much fun for our 2 boys and we were sad to say goodbye! We would definitely return to the Novotel Phuket!

We visited this hotel while we were on our honeymoon. The service and staff were amazing. The room was beautifully designed, spacious, and luxurious. There are three different pools and there are different activities and interesting classes that the hotel provides. I recommend booking this hotel when visiting phuket.

We had pool access room which was great. Maybe a bit too far away from the action. 200 baht to go anywhere. Very friendly and happy staff. We booked for the New Year buffet, which was included in that nights accommodation fee, it unfortunately was washed out by 9.30, but to the staffs defence they all carried on professionally under extreme circumstances.

I spent 10 days over Christmas period at Novotel Phuket Resort with my daughter son-in-law, and 2 of my grandchildren. The resort was perfect for small children, the bottom family pool was ideal and we spent most of our time relaxing, meeting other families and playing there. The views over Patong Beach are spectacular especially at sunset. The Christmas Eve party was most enjoyable. Kids club, kick boxing for kids and adults, was great, the instructors were very good with the children. We did aqua aerobics every morning with Madi Sport, he was a great instructor. Thank you to management and staff for a wonderful family holiday.

We stayed here for 5 nights and had wonderful days. The hotel because of the location is not made for a wheelchair - however there was always somebody to push me up the hill and there is a shuttle from the entrance (at sea and city level) to the lobby also they installed a ramp (especially for me) to get to the restaurant. The GM was frequently present during all our stay and took time to talk to his guests - even during the period where the hotel was fully booked. As we were fortunate to book a rental car we were to explore the beautiful area which I definitely would reccomend. We only pool we used was the closest (uppest) which is perfectly situated with a very nice view - just would have wished to find some service staff every day to order some drinks. I'm taking you by the word, Mr. Wutty to find an elevator on my nex stay...would be useful also for other guests I assume. In think we got a delux room which is bigger than standard in other hotels with a sea facing balcony - where we enjoyed breathtaking sun sets. The loungue is small but cosy and we enjoyed a drink (no alcohol) every evening as "VIP" and staff is very professional and helpful. The only area where the team might focus on in improving the performance might be around the restaurant. Breakfast buffet is good but nothing to remeber - service, as in all the hotel is excellent considering the huge number of guests coming at the same time. One evening we had the seafood buffet - which didn't meet our expectations, very basic and it didn't seem to have a overall concept - just reminded is to "we too offer a seafood buffet" One example: gravy salmon is not quite a standard of sashimi and not sure Surimi should be either, so there was only partially salmon as only sashimi. And we desperately missed some thing more such as Tuna. Definitely a place to get back when back in this area. Thank you Mr. Wutty and team for this fantastic experience.
