8/10 Good

Overall, most of my stay was positive. The house was well laid out and the kitchen was well stocked. The house is situated within a housing community just over the bridge, so the backyard looks out onto a major roadway with some traffic noise. We used the community basketball court and playground on the other side of the bridge (a short walk or even shorter drive!), which were a bonus. There is not a community pool in this development, but the house comes with a small pool.During our stay, we noted that the pool heater did not seem to be heating consistently. Also, we heard a loud noise but assumed it was fireworks or neighbor-related. Nothing seemed to be out of sorts in the house. We later learned from the owner that the heater exploded and THAT was the source of the loud noise. He turned off the hot water the day before we checked out for safety reasons, so none of us were able to shower. Problem was we weren't informed of this. Up to this time, the owner communicated very well in writing through the app, but when the heater exploded and the hot water shut off, he said he called me, but I missed his call and did not receive any voicemail or written messages. I asked for a 1 night stay reimbursement for no hot water, which the owner declined. He reimbursed me 30 for one night of the pool heater cost instead. Overall, the experience with the house was positive, but the communication from the owner was uneven, and general heater maintenance was questionable.
