Stayed four nights. Couldn't beat the price. A great value inn. Renovated rooms. Staff was polite and helpful. Walked to Subway neighborhood was safe and people friendly. Be aware parking lot has very small spaces so a compact car is ideal. Definitely not an upscale hotel, but if you're checking it out you're probably on a budget like me. This was a clean safe place to rest each night after an exhausting day exploring everything Oakland and San Francisco had to offer

Check-in was a jankedy. Signed a blank keypad and received no receipt or other means of knowing what I have been charged. The room was decently furnished and with clean bedding and linens. The wall heater smelled like human urine when first turned, but, seemed to lessen as it ran longer. The television does not work. There was a 10 inch place between the commode and tub where the paint and wall covering had rotted away, the tissue holder was rusted and corroded, the sink drain has no pop-up mechanism making it difficult to remove the dirty water. The lights are on motion sensor switches and go out after about 30 seconds making it difficult to shave, etc. Parking is horrendous and not sufficient for the property. You must squeeze the front of your vehicle into shrubs cut out to fit against, and scratch your car. Housekeeping stole my basket of snacks and drinks. No desk service available at night or early morning.

difficult to exit parking lot, have to back out room clean furniture needs upgrade bathroom door can't close toilet is the small type, not elongated sink has part of a towel hoder that obstructs access old AC needs replacing, kept us up all night
