Like the free breakfast and proximity to the hospital I was attending a class at. I forgot paper to take notes and the desk clerk was happy to provide me paper. Small thing but really made my day easier. Always a friendly hello and goodbye when I was coming or going.

I was visiting family. The room and facility was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.
From the great reviews, I expected something special. It wasn't. We paid well over $200 a night for a decent room. BART is hiking distance, not blocks away. Breakfast was good not great. Fast food is the order of the day nearby. So I would stay on business if I had an expense account, which I don't so I won't be back. Staff was friendly but you cart your own bags. One very slow elevator for the building. Poor value for the money.

We found Comfort Suites fully updated new beds, TV's , flooring, patios, lobby, fitness room, accommodations were well appointed and extremely clean, new draperies, I could go on and on! I saw one negative review and was surprised as we did not encounter anything even close to that experience. We were welcomed by well trained, professional and friendly staff and I just can't say enough about this resource. Great location - near an updated Castro Valley Village Shopping area that had great little stores to shop - Dried and Tied great gift shop, amazing pricing, Rigatoni's Restaurant and a Starbuck. Rigatoni's served an amazing Ceasar Salad with either fresh shrimp or chicken all was so good and pricing was very very reasonable...! This Hotel has a complete new staff since we stayed there in 2008 - the manager "Shandon" is more than welcoming and takes great pride in this property - the desk clerks were professional and friendly and very helpful...Thank you Natasha! Breakfast was okay...nothing over the top...lots of carbs so for a diabetic not great - wish they had more plain yogurt, oatmeal type food ...I think one of the better places for breakfast was in San Jose - Pruneyard Larkspur Hotel. But this was clean and very nicely set up.
Our handicapped-accessible room was what we needed and all was well, except for the quirk of the shower which had the hot and cold water piped in reverse of what was indicated on the handle! The staff did not explain that until later in the day of our first morning after a second inquiry. The breakfast was okay, but eggs suffered from bad prep even at the moment the room opened - 6:30AM! It was as if they'd been cooked months before and reheated. One guy lost a battle with the wafflemaker, but a staff person retried it for him. He was not in a hurry, thank goodness.
Everything was clean and nice. All staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Made all 5 of us feel right at home. No problems at all!
We were here visiting family and though we stayed at other hotels while here we centralized our stay at this hotel. When we came back from our mini trips from other overnight stays it was like coming home. We felt comfortable and relaxed. We both agreed that the stay here was a winning decision that added to the overall success of our vacation.
Went to spend Christmas with my son's family in Castro Valley. I have stayed in many expensive hotels, but I trully enjoyed the Comfort Suites! The beds and pillows were to die for! I know you shouldn't sleep your vacation away, but with accommodations as comfortable as this, it was hard to get out of bed! The rooms were large, very clean, well maintained, the staff super friendly and helpful, there was TV, microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer, safe, coffee maker and coffee, and continental breakfast. There was also daily housekeeping service, a large hot tub, an exercise room and internet service. I will definitely stay there again!
