My brother and I checked into the Comfort Inn at Castro Valley on 12/8. We were driving an electric vehicle and needed to be up early. Knowing that there was at least 1 EV station we called as we neared the Comfort Inn and the front desk clerk informed us that another guest was occupying it. That's fine; that allowed us to plan. We pulled into a DC fast charge station and within minutes our phone rang. It was the front desk informing us the other guest was merely parked near the station and wasn't using it; the station was available and we were welcome to charge during our stay. After thanking them we drove to our destination and arrived at the parking garage. To our delight the front desk clerk recognized we were in an EV looking for the station and was waiting for us to assist in plugging in even before we checked in. Take note: this is being a proactive innkeeper. We felt overwhelmingly welcomed during check-in as our front desk contact made us feel totally at home. I'm not entirely sure but I believe his name was Espin or Esbin. Frankly, I would be more inclined to stay at Comfort Inns if I knew he was manning the front desk. As far as the actual stay the room was satisfactory. The morning breakfast was another story, but that's due to the food quality. The lobby and dining areas were clean and sanitary. I was a little bit offended by the portrait of sunny side up eggs and bacon whilst neither were offered at breakfast.

The mattress on the bed nearest the door ss horrible in room 233. It needs to be replaced! It's worn such that there is a sink hole. The mattress topper does NOT solve the problem.
