Clean, Friendly Staff, Convenient Location, Affordable. Overall pleasant stay.

We rented 3 rooms, while the other 2 rooms were okay our room had cockroaches all around the kitchen, while I explained how this is not acceptable having 2 small children and wanting to speak with the manager the front desk was little help, after already reserving another hotel after nothing was done and packing our bags, they did offer to move us to a different room but i declined, eventually we did get refunded but it ruined our trip due to our new hotel being 20 min away from our family that stayed behind.

Excelent geographic position, great views, big shopping mall right in front. Basic continental breakfast but ok. Overall great.

The property is very old. The lobby as been updated but has torn carpet. The outside garden and pool area are beautiful. The room was clean but not in good condition. Everything is old. The bed was not comfortable. The staff is friendly but didn't ask if are room was satisfactory. The continental breakfast was satisfactory and the coffee was very good.

Great view from the room over the pool, inner courtyard and lagoon, I had expected a parking lot and commercial building vista. Large comfortable room and functional balcony. decent Continental Breakfast. The electrical outlets are all worn out, it's hard to get power cords to make contact. I was charging my phone in the bathroom and the computer in the kitchenette.

The property is clearly old but reasonably well maintained. The rooms were clean, the free continental breakfast was satisfactory, and the location is excellent. The room TV's are old tube based technology that do not display well.

Very disappointed with this hotel. Extremely outdated. Pool was filthy and not once did we see anyone cleaning it. Our door keys would malfunction frequently and at one point, we had to go to the front desk for new card keys. Overall, I would not stay there again and would definitely not recommend it to my friends and family.

The room was not a suite. The carpets were extremely dirty, the TVs were from the 90s and didn’t even work , we didn’t even have hot water the first half of the day we checked in and had to request to shower in a different room, the beds and blankets were extremely old with holes in them and my friends and I woke up in the middle of the night of itching. We would suggest the manager fix up the whole “Suite.” AVOID at all cost.

Older hotel, but clean, quiet, and comfortable Its hard to find an affordable option in San Francisco area. The Coral Reef Inn was a very good value for the affordable price and relatively easy travel to San Francisco and surrounding area. Our room was a classic older style hotel room. It was spacious and clean, but it wasn't especially aesthetically eye pleasing inside or out. My family slept well in the comfortable beds and quiet location.

Clean, friendly but completely outdated. Breakfast not that great options.

The hotel is apparently being updated but the room we stayed in was in serious need. Old everything. Not even a flat screen tv. Wifi was horrible. The location was ideal. Last time we stayed we took the ferry to SF one of the days and it was great. This time we opted not to take the ferry and the traffic over the Bay bridge was horrid. Also, the prices have almost doubled since we stayed here 4 years ago. I would consider staying here again if they are really updating all the rooms. I would probably look elsewhere first though

Overall the experience was good. We were mainly there to site see San Francisco and we got a good experience also in Alameda,CA. The hotel is in a very quite area and is just a half a block from the beach. Got a room with a lake view behind and it was perfect my husband and the kids loved it. There’s also a shopping center across the hotel (very convenient). The rooms are a little run down but ok to stay in at the end you just pretty much need a bed to rest not to take it home. I would definitely recommend your staying at this hotel.

my staying in this place was disgusting i felt itching in my body but we stay because is in a great location.

Upon arrival I was told that we would be unable to use the parking lot for the duration of my 3 day stay because of repaving. No specifics were given by staff as to what was happening on each day. No accomodations had been made and people were directed to park in areas that were, in fact, illegal and many guests got tickets. My room was a ground floor suite which had some problems with a very marginal bathroom and living area that had been arranged in such a way that it was impossible to sit on the couch without bumping your head on a countertop that overhung the back of the very heavy couch. The construction was to start at 6:00 am and I was told it would be best to get our of the room by that time. After the 2nd day I asked a pavinworker if the entire lot would be sealed the next day and he said yes. My room required me to walk on the parking lot to reach the street or take a stairway to the 2nd floor and walk the length with my suitcases and then descend another with 2 heavy suitcases. I had told the desk that I could not carry suitcases to the 2nd floor because of a bad back which is why I had requested a ground floor room. All we heard from staff was that they were "sorry for the inconvenience".No effort was made to make alternative accommodations for guests. Many other guests were upset with this treatment as well and were complaining at the front desk when I checked out a day early because of the attitude and lack of service and the impossibility of my situation.

Carpet needs replacement, drapes are discussing, and bathroom is scary. Should not even qualify for 1 star

the front desk lady was really nice and she even recommended the best sushi restaurant I've ever been to. The hotel was nice and clean

We stayed 3 nights at the Coral Reef Inn & Suites while visiting family in nearby Oakland, California. Alameda location was convenient to Oakland and seemed very safe - nice residential community with lots of shopping - supermarkets, drugstores, etc. nearby. Very pleasant spacious standard room - 2 queen-sized beds plus full kitchenette with mini-fridge, microwave, sink, stove and table with 2 chairs. Balcony overlooking pool and nicely landscaped courtyard. Enjoyed morning walks and runs along the beach on 2 + mile trail just a block from the hotel with bird sanctuary, a park and views of San Francisco across the bay. Hotel desk clerks were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast served from 6:30 - 9:30 a.m. daily was basic (cereal, yogurt, various pastries, apples, OJ, coffee, tea, toast) but adequate for us. Beds were very comfortable and bathroom was clean.
