Our stay at Newport Harbor Island Inn was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Upon arrival, there were no available parking spots, and the valet was rude and yelled at us about where we parked. The front desk offered no assistance, even after it was noted that some vehicles occupying spaces were not registered guests.
Dinner service was unacceptably slow and inattentive. It took 32 minutes to receive our drinks and over an hour more for our salad and appetizer. We were seated at 7:20 PM and left at 8:53 PM. Several menu items, including oysters and cheesecake, were unavailable, our to-go coffee was forgotten, and little attention was paid to our table.
The room raised serious concerns: glass on the bathroom floor, a burning electrical smell, a loud generator-like hum that caused headaches, extremely low shower pressure, and unexpected handicap shower equipment. Additionally, no spa treatments were available despite being advertised. Overall, this stay reflected poor management, safety issues, and service well below expectations for this property.
