Absolutely beautiful resort and the location on the water was gorgeous!

The food at Scarpetta was not great and took a very long time to come. The hotel bar had great food though. The pool could use updating and although our sheets had a hole in them we were happy with our room and the service otherwise.

Great location, close to other attractions but far enough away not to be disturbed. Great spa. Wish they had a hot tub

One of the nicest places I’ve stayed at. Great views and good food. Staff are great.

The exterior and pool area were fantastic, wait staff was also great! Rooms was extremely pricey for what we got!

Good service and clean, modern rooms. Friendly staff.

Great hotel and staff! All around atmosphere of the hotel is excellent. We came off season, but still had a great time. I would definitely recommend this to any friend or family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spent the night at a wonderful hotel and had a great spot experience the room was comfortable it was just very oddly located in the bottom back entrance of the hotel. It looked like it had been a conference room at one time. Next time I will definitely visit the spa but will ask for a bedroom that is on a higher floor so that I could have a view of the water. Staff was great food was awesome at scarpetta's and I will definitely go again

Great meeting room for over 300 amazing people from Athena’s! Very friendly staff, seemed very clean. We even had robes and slippers in our room! So nice!!! Thank you!

The Gurney was a nice spot for a two night stay on a long weekend in Newport. Loved the shuttle to Bowen’s Warf. Had a nice room looking out on the Pell Bridge and sunset across the bay. Looked like they were doing a lot of renovating, since it is the off season but that was out of the way of the guests. Could only see the maintenances people from the balcony, making the deck on the ground floor look great for next summer. Just needed some repair on the balcony floor, and the door lock to the balcony of our room. Found it a little stingy that the hotel charges $20/day for the “Gurney’s” waterbottles in the room. Live music in the lobby bar in the evening, and a lot of happy hotel staff in the lobby area.

Was very pleased with the hotel , rooms were clean , great service

Hotel is old. Needs a refresh. Staff not very helpful. Courtesy vans awful.

My husband and i came here to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, it was pouring that day in Newport so instead of venturing downtown we decided to stay in the resort for the night. I must say that all the food we ate was so good and the service we received from out waitresses and room service person was outstanding. However, for the price you pay (and I understand that you are mostly paying for the view and the proximity to downtown Newport) the rooms were underwhelming. The indoor pool was tiny and I just feel like the rooms, including the bathrooms, could have been cleaner. The outside balcony still had ash on the table from the pervious person and the floors were filthy.

Friendly staff. Nice room with balcony, great ocean view. Balcony is dirty with cigarette butt and other stuff

This is by far the best hotel in Newport, wonderfully renovated to create a relaxing resort vibe. Service level is high and all the outdoor seating makes the hotel feel very relaxed and welcoming.

Hotel is a bit secluded on Goat Island, but has excellent water/van shuttle service to shopping area and restaurants. Hotel staff are super friendly and amenities are excellent. Some small service issues made the stay a little annoying (like never enough towels in the room, not alerted to the fog horn at night and the indoor pool wasn't opened on time-not stocked with towels, phone didn't work in room, room service forgot parts of the order). Also, housekeeping woke us up at 9am by knocking and entering the room (our kids were so tired from the previous day). To be fair, we did not put the do not disturb sign on the door. The hotel staff was quick to correct all of these minor issues that could have been a function of the recent change in management. Overall, we had a good experience and would book again.

We were charged a $20 resort fee that was not included as what I paid on Orbitz. This is a total ripoff and I would like to be reimbursed

This hotel just changed hands from the Hyatt. They had more people cleaning than staying. Restaurant was not open except for breakfast. The bar was open, but not busy. Enjoyed the pool. Beautiful water views everywhere.
