Good place to stay at if you don't plan to stay too much at the hotel. Great place to just rest at. A little outdated, but they keep it very clean. Has a little kitchenette, which is a big plus. Beds were adequate. Not many amenities to boast about. Warm showers and rooms are spacious.

Nice and quiet Staff is friendly, with washer and dryer, kitchen very convenient,I definitely would stay a gain

Federal City Inn & Suites is located in a quite area in Algiers across French Quarter on the other side of the Mississippi river. The Algiers Ferry Terminal is about 3 Miles away. You can take the ferry to the French Quarter for $2 exact cash, and it takes only 5 minutes avoiding traffic hassle and need for expensive parking place in French Quarter area. The hotel is in a quite area with no walking distance shops or restaurant. My room was spacious, and clean, but the fridge and AC were relatively noisy. They have free wifi, but it was unreliable, with intermittent poor slow connection possibly because my room was at the end of the hotel. Staff was friendly. Parking ample.

Although we did not have any large issue with our stay we had lots of smaller inconveniences that made our stay not enjoyable. Room service did not show up one day, even with the sign on our door. The fire alarm went off 2 times during our stay. The location and the reviews were deceiving as far as convenience, it was NOT easily accessible to the French quarter/downtown. We had loud middle of the night disruptions from guests/or staff every night. I would not recommend this hotel.

We have stayed at the Federal Inn and Suites several times while visiting family that live in Algiers Point. It is very convenient for this purpose. The building itself is dated but clean. They do not offer breakfast or very many other amenities. The suites are clean with a kitchenette and makes a good option for an extended stay. The kitchenette is good because there is not much in the way of shopping or dining in the immediate area. All that being said, the beds are comfortable and the shower is very good (although the hot water is dangerously hot on our last stay). The TV is average only. All in all, this is a quiet place to stay, away from the hubbub of NOLA - a good place to recharge before taking the ferry to the French Quarter for less quiet activities.

Arrived after dark, having to give cab driver directions (?), who said he didn't go over to that side of the river very often. He commented on the questionable safety of the area, which we found totally unfounded. The room was spacious, had a kitchenette, and very comfortable beds (best nights of sleep I have had in a long time). There is nothing nearby as far as restaurants, but there was a convenience store at a 10 min walk at most, which had "Brothers Chicken". After being up for 17 hours and traveling, it was the best option we had. Seriously, it was some of the best chicken we had while in NOLA. The Ferry was about 1.5 miles away, which we walked the next morning, walking along the levee. Excellent walk, excellent view. Noted a Subway restaurant not far away from the hotel while enroute. Made it to the ferry, but unfortunately it was Sunday, and the ferry did not start operating till 10:30 AM, and it was only 8:45. Wish we would have known, but shame on me for not checking this out in advance. Wishing to maximize our sightseeing time, we opted to Uber to the French Market ($11.00). High fives for Uber!!! For those who have never used Uber, I strongly recommend it. Also, they knew where they were going and how to get there (unique concept). I should also mention that there were many conventions taking place in NOLA while we were there, and all of the hotels we checked were running $$$$ per night, making Federal an extremely reasonable option,

Thank you to all o the staff that was so kind and accommodating during our stay! Great group of employees!!

Very plain, although clean and nice hotel located off the beaten path. Hotel was accommodating for the needs of having a place to sleep and rest between visiting New Orleans. Just a short drive to the ferry landing to take the ferry across the river to the French Quarter. plenty of security in the area. Lots of military at this hotel due to the naval training center just blocks away. Very peaceful location. I would definitely return and recommend this to people on a budget or with a family or children.

The hotel was cool. It was quiet and literally away from everything. The run was a little gross but I think it's because it needs to be replaced. Other than that the hotel was good for the price we paid. I would stay again if needed.

This is a nice, good but older and basic motel. Very quiet and clean rooms. Is very old a hasn't been updated in a while. They make up for that by great customer service and keeping everything clean. The evening desk attendant Dionca is friendly, beautiful and very helpful. I would stay here again.

Everything is good excluding far to center of city.

Good location to leave your auto for a cruise! Great staff!

Staff very polite and helpful. Clean rooms. Kitchenettes fully stock with needed ammenties. I will stay here every time I visit the Big Easy!!

We brought our bicycles and found this hotel perfectly located. Ferry dropped us off near downtown and we bicycled the garden district, bourbon street, and town. Best nights sleep in weeks.. Would definitely return.

Even though it's not located in the French Quarters it's still not far and very easy to get there. You can take the ferry but we drove and didn't have any issues with parking.

This was our second stay at FCI. We came back because our first experience was a 5 star! Cleanliness is extremely important to us and we like that our room, sheets and bathroom are clean! The front desk person, Linda was exceptional. She helped me find out mass times and locations to churches in the area. She was also very nice and professional. The location is out of the way, which is good and it is nice and quiet. We felt safe with the police department close by too. the only small inconvenience was that our electrical outlet in the bathroom was not working. so we couldn't use it to blow dry hair or shave. Also there was a toothpaste cap stuck in our bathroom sink. No big deal. We will be back and have already recommended FCI to others!

Take the ferry across to the French quarter from here Enjoy great local cuisine in nearby Algiers. Dry dock cafe for red beans & rice , Tout de Suite cafe for breakfast Large rooms with frig , microwave and cooking facility

This was a great hotel regardless of the low cost. We needed a place to stay before our cruise and this couldn't have been better. It was a short easy drive to the ferry that takes you over to the french quarter and the ferry was only $2 per person. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Couldn't ask for more.

Stayed before a cruise,my second time, great staff, friendly, helpful, will be back next time im in New Orleans

Everything was great! I had a very bad day but when I arrived at the hotel the desk clerk was able to solve all my problems quickly.
