Newly renovated and tastefully decorated. This hotel is a great value for the money. Nice breakfast, snacks, and dinner. Excellent rooms. The gym is a bit small, but that was the only issue I had with the entire place. Superb staff.
This place looks great, but cleaning seems to be less than what you'd expect. The room was spacious, and all of the kitchen appliances were gleaming stainless steel. The place that gets a bit cramped is the bedroom, with a king-sized bed, there's not a lot of room around it to pass by the bed. Breakfast was full of a lot of choices, and there are real plates and tableware to use instead of plastic, paper or styrofoam. The andouille sausage was spicy, and clearly not the mystery meat sausage that you see at the cheap chains. However, my lady noticed that one of the "clean" plates had a spot on it, she told me to avoid that one. It was a bit disturbing to see an unwrapped bar of soap on the edge of the tub, just under the shower curtain, that had obviously been left there by a previous guest. It made me wonder about the rest of the cleaning procedure when housekeeping comes in. Also, it was plainly obvious that the closet doors were off their tracks, especially the left one, that was totally askew. It might behoove management to do some random checks on recently serviced rooms to see if things got missed. The bed was very, very comfortable, and the sheets were fresh and clean smelling. The bath towels were a bit stiff, but they were large and thick, it's so disconcerting to have threadbare ones in the cheaper chains. A note of possible caution on the hot water, it seems to arrive at the faucet quickly, and can get very hot. I really had to dial it down in the shower. It was not a problem for me, but if someone were staying here with small children, they would want to make sure that the child did not accidentally get scalded. The breakfast attendant seemed oblivious to the fact that we were standing there waiting to get coffee, it seemed to be more important to putter around with the tea bags. I sort of felt vindicated when she got pulled into a ten-minute encounter with a rambling fellow guest. This place has all the physical assets needed to be a great hotel, but the human assets need to step up their game a bit to compliment the nice place they work at. I will lavish praise on the night desk clerk who checked us in, he quickly and gladly changed rooms for me, to one that was nearer to the elevator for the convenience of my lady, who was having back pains that night.
We love to stay here as it is always spotless and staff is so accommodating. Ms. Martinez was very accomadating and patient when assisting us with changing our reservation. Because of the excellent standards in this hotel we now stay in residence all over the us. It is so pleasant to return to a hotel that feels a bit like home. Thanks to all of you!
My first visit to this part of the world and I was not disappointed. The Residence Inn was a great place to stay. Large, very well appointed and clean rooms. Friendly and courteous staff. Definitely on my places to stay when in Connecticut.
We arrived after some pretty wretched driving, so we were tired and hungry. Earline checked us in and gave my daughter a snack - enough to hold her until we could get to dinner at the restaurant Earline recommended (it was excellent). Breakfast was decent - not as great as some Residence Inn properties we've visited, but definitely not the worst. We were close enough to New Haven to get to and from our activities without a problem, and there was enough close-by retail and restaurant activity that we had good choices. There's an indoor pool - though I don't know if it's heated, per se. The room was clean and comfortable, everything exactly how I expect in a 1 BR suite at a Residence Inn. It's right by the highway, so there's some highway noise, but overall it was a great place to stay for a couple of nights. My daughter liked the staff (especially Earline) so well she suggested we should move in :)
Very nice, clean place to stay. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was more than expected. Breakfast is served at 7 am and was very good. Place is very close to 95 which is good and bad. Convenient but noisy on that side of the hotel. The rooms are large and the bed and pillows are very comfortable. The shower is large with good pressure and plenty of hot water. Nice place.
We stayed overnight Saturday here as 'walkins' on a busy weekend and found it rather expensive. However, the staff were great, our studio room with efficiencies was lovely and we ordered in a Chinese meal, which we enjoyed. Breakfast was average - the usual buffet, nothing special. Another good Marriott chain Hotel.
Stayed here for two nights to attend a wedding. We arrived very late and the front desk was very accommodating. Our 1 b/r suite was roomy and comfortable and we didn't want to leave half of the time because we felt right at home. Not very familiar with the area but quick eats less than 1 mile down the road. Convenience store-style pantry super clutch late night. Also very dog friendly which was nice to see. Always nice to be offered a free breakfast as well.
Stayed here overnight while travelling along the I95. Was a last minute reward booking but they had it all sorted when we arrived with a nice check in. Room was clean, well kept and very large. Happy we chose this one from the couple of hotels on this block near the i95.
In town for a family wedding! Wonderful king size suite, both clean and spacious. Especially liked the full size refrigerator. The breakfast was the best and Aicha was very pleasant and accommodating!
