The GM and front desk staff went ABOVE & BEYOND on the day of our daughter's wedding. He washed, dried, and ironed two white shirts for my husband! Where else would you find such outstanding service! The morning of the wedding, my husband was ironing his white shirt. There was something amiss with the in-room iron, and the shirt now had some brown spots on it. We rushed to a local Kohl's to buy another new shirt. While my husband was ironing the new shirt, the collar turned brown (singe mark, we thought). We took the iron and the two shirts to the front desk to say we have an issue with this iron. First, the manager said he thought the shirts could be saved. He washed and dried them, and then ironed them and brought them to our room just in time for us to leave for the ceremony. We were SO GRATEFUL. We offered him a tip to help pay for this services, but he refused any compensation for his troubles. Later we were told that, had he not been able to wash out the brown spots/marks, he would have purchased a new shirt and would have washed and dried and ironed it for us. He also had Mtce replace the iron in our room. The Mgr and and staff are THE BEST! AND the complementary food was excellent. And the staff we met in the halls during our stay were very friendly and personable. Very nice ambiance to this hotel. We can't say enough about this venue. You MUST stay here if you are in this area. We highly recommend this Homewood Suites in New Brighton, MN. (We are from the Milwaukee, WI, area.) One more thing! My husband's mother forgot to bring her walker (she flew to MN from OH), so we bought her one. Her walk to the breakfast and dinner (lobby area) was a long trek from her handicap-equipped room, however, so the front desk (Lea?) graciously offered the use of their only wheelchair during her stay, so that my husband and I could easily get her to join us at the buffets. We were very grateful for that, as well.
The Homewood Suites is in a very convenient location right off the freeway. No need to worry though as my room was facing the freeway and never once was I worried about the noise. The complimentary breakfast was your standard hotel breakfast(cereal, waffle maker, yogurt, juice) but did include an added bonus of a unique item each day. The first was a cream cheese and egg quiche which was quite tasty. The second day was biscuits and gravy which were a bit cold and not as good as the eggs the first day. It was also nice to see the General Manager of the hotel walking around greating guests at breakfast and helping the staff clean up the tables. They do host activities each night including complimentary dinner, wine and beer which is a nice touch after a long day. Some things that were a little frustrating was the elevator being slow. Nothing the hotel can really do unless they replace the entire system. The staff being beyond pleasant and walking around with a smile more than made up for the slight wait for the elevator.
Had a night with my family in the suite and they loved it. And so did I. Excellent service and very charming hotel. Will be back to stay. Nice pool and whirl pool. Like the set up of the suite for sure you have everything that you need.
The Homewood Suites was in an area convenient to where I was planning to do business and easy access to major roads. Room was nice and all of the amenities were good, all of the equipment in the fitness center actually worked!
Nice big lobby, roomy for breakfast. Good breakfast selection. Nice patio with basketball court with two big barbeques. Rooms were clean, roomy, nice kitchenette. Great for our hockey team to stay in.
The manager on shift at the time of my arrival was short, and abrasive with me. Making feel worse than I did after a 30 hour drive. I would come back there again, minus that particular manager, and the not completely clean room.
Very clean hotel, with kitchens for an extended stay. If you have business in New Brighton, its pretty convenient. The free breakfast and evening meals are a nice touch. Nothing spectacular, but the ladies are really nice. It's a pretty quiet hotel. Just know that there is virtually NOTHING to do in New Brighton if you are looking for something for something away from the hotel. Be prepared to drive 10 miles if you do. But if you just want a nice quiet place to relax, get some nourishment and have some peace and quiet, I would recommend it.
If Lea (front desk) went to Hollywood she would star in Top Gun since she is the 'Best of the Best'. Whenever, we are in MPLS, Homewood Suites New Brighton is our #1 choice. This stay the computer did a little teaser with 'Two Room suite'. I signed up for it, but when I did the digital check-in, just got a regular room. Upon arrival though, Lea noticed that I didn't get the upgrade and she worked it out so if we waited a little bit, we could get the two room suite. Was travelling with my wife and adult daughter and this made all the difference in our weekend getaway. We had the common area together (much better than two separate rooms) but sill separate sleeping areas and two showers. Nicely done Lea. Have been staying here for about 5 years since my son has been going to U of MN (he did graduate recently - yea). Never had a dissapointing experience with this property. Keep it up Lea!
I stayed 1 night with my wife and extended family after attending U of M graduation. I chose this hotel because of it's AAA sale rate of $101/night and the easy 15 minute drive north of campus. The hotel was quiet despite being right next to the interstate. The room and breakfast was the same great quality I expect to see at any Homewood. I used the online check-in with digital key and let myself into the hotel and the room late at night without seeing any staff. I didn't see any restaurants within walking distance so that could be a drawback for some. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and would stay here again.
This is a fabulous place to stay. Loved it!! Staff were fantastic. The breakfast was incredible and there was coffee and tea as well as fruit left out. There were a couple of sports teams staying there and we still had a fantastic sleep because there were other places for the kids to have fun together other than running all night through the halls (which happens other places)
