Completely fitted our needs during our trip to Munich. Very good breakfast for this type of hotel. Not noisy. Rooms very clean. Internet connection good. Staff friendly and helpful. Basically, have nothing bad to say about our stay :D
Just returned from a weekend break with friends. This is an excellent hotel with fantastic staff. In a superb location. Raquel on reception was very friendly and helped us with the activities. The breakfast buffet was huge and excellent quality. This hotel ticked all the boxes for us. The rooms were very comfortable and cleaned to a very high standard. I will definitely be back here again during the summer. Highly recommend it.
I want to give the hotel a better rating, but I just can’t find the justification. Mind you I was checking in during Oktoberfest, so maybe the staff was fed up with travelers/tourists? But still no excuse. I made the reservation through Travelocity, which went through just fine. I was not aware that the breakfast is charged on a per person basis which is fine and understandable. I did not argue with the receptionist, apologized for the misunderstanding and paid the additional for my husband to dine with me. However when I told the receptionist that we had to checkout at 3am and asked if I could either decline the charge for breakfast for that day (since it’s only available 6-10am), or if we can at least be provided a croissant or piece of fruit to leave with the receptionist harshly said no. I find it unreasonable to require guests to pay for a meal which they clearly cannot partake in due to flights/transportation time. We asked where we could find a local grocery or food store, and were sent very out of our way. When on the walk back to the hotel, we passed a grocery store that had everything we were originally looking for. It just seemed that most of the staff did not want to be bothered with anything. Again it may have been from the time we were there, as the city was flooded with tourists for Oktoberfest, but either way, if you’re in the hospitality industry, it’s important to at least have guests satisfied with their stay. The room we were given was very nice. Some would complain about the clear/glass wall for a shower between the bedroom and bathroom, but I thought it was interesting with the shades. Have never seen that before. We even had a small balcony to sit on which was nice. Overall the room was great, the breakfast was great too (even had mimosas!). Could just do better with the front desk staff.
Had I known in advance that Munich was to be as fascinating as it was (especially during the Christmas season), and that our stay at the Hotel Europa would be such a very pleasant one, I would have wanted to stay on longer than the 4 nights we were there. The hotel and the room itself were delightful, cozy and welcoming, surpassing my expectations in every respect. I could find nothing to fault. They even offered us free gluhwein in the evenings - an especially nice touch at that time of year! The location was very good as well, with a 20-minute easy walk (no inclines) to and from the railway station, and only slightly more to the places of interest & shopping areas just beyond. The staff were warm, friendly, helpful, and gave valuable advice on getting round town. Breakfast was excellent both in terms of quality and variety as well. The kitchen staff were obliging in that they packed breakfast for us as we had a very early train to catch the morning we checked out. Special commendation must be given to the gracious, kindly Mr Ali who was full of warm well-wishing when we left. In short, when next in Munich, we would return to this hotel in a heartbeat!
We booked this hotel through a travel agent and we were very impressed by everything. This hotel is very close to Munchen HBF, not walking distance but frequent trams to take. Room was very spacious for 3 people, kind of two rooms and lots of moving space. Breakfast was excellent, served lots of dips and other veggie options. Total value for money.
I want to give this hotel a higher rating based on breakfast and the few staff I met who were really nice, but I can't. Overall the hotel had too many things working against it. Starting with reception staff, who ranged from mildly friendly to indifferent to hostile (the guy who launched into a political tirade about Brexit was actually offensive). The room was okay, but wayyyyy too hot, we ended up sleeping with the window open 3 out of 4 nights, it was below freezing out but boiling in the room. There didn't seem to be a way to adjust the thermostat in the room. Housekeeping didn't give us toilet roll for two days, come on, it's a basic necessity, you shouldn't have to trot down to reception to get loo roll, seriously. Get the basics right and you'd have a good 4 star hotel here. Food was the saving grace, breakfast was really really good. Dinner wasn't bad either, service was pretty quick, it was fairly basic but tasty and filling. Hotel was a bit too far from town but close to the tram (although that is a nightmare at rush hour trust me) and tube stations. Overall I'd stay somewhere else next time and pay extra.
Stayed in this hotel in late October. Very impressed with the facilities. Great breakfast, something for everyone. I noticed the children (and adults!) were particularly impressed with the cake on offer !! The staff at breakfast were very attentive. Although the hotel is a little bit outside the city centre, about half hour walk, there is a tram line a few minutes away which takes you into the centre. The superior rooms are spacious and have a little sitting area. There is also a Nespresso coffee machine.
I stayed here in Dec during my business trip. Rooms are ok but not that great as expected from 4 start hotel. Breakfast was nice with good spread. Sorry but people at front desk and breakfast doesn't seems to be welcoming with their guests and absolutely no smile at all on their face. Kindly greet people with smile and off course smile is free and doesn't take much efforts. Overall ok stay.
We loved this hotel, it's close to the center & to the train station, the rooms are very nice ,much more than we expected for the price, the breakfast was also very good, a lot of variety & great quality, I highly recommend it.
On the foto hotel looks like better than I've seen. I had stay for 1night.Choose this hotel based on reviews. The room not big, but very dust. Breakfast-typical hotels breakfast. But quite closed to city center
