The Palace is an easy place to stay! Reception was quick, polite and efficient. My room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, with plenty of natural light and windows that open! Linens are luxurious. Staff are super efficient--the service is excellent. I ate the breakfast buffet each day. The highlight--fresh, delicious bread! I loved the location. It is on a quiet street, but excellent restaurants are nearby (try Kafer just across the street!!). The park is only a few blocks away--a great place for a run. The paths along the nearby river are beautiful and extend for miles.
Exceeded my expectations in every way. Lovely hotel, quiet and comfortable rooms. Will definitely stay here again. The rooms were spotless, as was the hotel. Loved the bar but would like to see a better selection of wines. One of the finer places Ive stayed in all of Europe. Will stay here again.
The Palace is a very nice hotel that is greatly located, very friendly staff and clean rooms with wooden floors and sufficient space. Only little downside is that if your room is located towards Trogerstrasse you can hear the Prinzregentenstrasse when your windows are open. Definitely a place I would return to.
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Muenchen Palace in November on our trip Germany and Austria for two days. Although the hotel was well-appointed, breakfast was delicious, and the beds were very comfortable, we left with a somewhat sour taste in our mouths. Before heading out on the town or on day trips, we'd ask for a bottle of water for each of us. While they were given, we were pretty put off to see that we'd been charged for them upon check-out. Not only had we not been told that we'd be charged for them (there was a store across the street where we could have purchased them every day), but after spending hundreds of dollars a night at a five star hotel, it seemed ridiculous to nickel and dime us for bottled water, especially (1) when the 7 (yes, SEVEN) other four and five star hotels we stayed at offered bottled water to us on a complimentary basis every day, and (2) when we had no alcohol whatsoever to drink from the mini bar (which was free). When we asked about this upon check-out, the receptionist said, "Of course we charge for that." Period. No explanation. No apology. No act of good service or faith to just remove the charge. We just spent $1000 at your hotel, but fine, charge us for water. Admittedly, that's the thing that stayed with us after our stay at this hotel and is that same reason we can only give it 3 stars.
A high quality boutique hotel located in a very interesting part of Munich, convenient to public transport and close to city centre. Staff very attentive, great breakfast, basic gym and sauna. Rooms well appointed. A little disappointing to not have in room tea/coffee making facilities but not uncommon in European hotels. I loved the decor, and the property is very well maintained. Will definitely go back
A beautifully decorated, warm and cozy hotel. The staff were incredible. So helpful and so friendly. Rooms were very comfortable, warm and spotless. The palace is close to Christmas markets, the river, gorgeous shops and the bus. We had 3 wonderful days in Munich at the palace and loved the Lindt chocolates at reception. Highly recommend this amazing hotel.
The best option while in Munich. Again everything was fantastic. The breakfast is already something which should not be missed. The super personalized service is a home away from home. I would not stay anywhere else.
The hotel is some 30 mins walk from the main shopping/market area, or a couple of stops on the underground. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small and beautifully decorated, no kettle for tea or coffee, however, the mini bar is free ( couple of beers and a few soft drinks) the breakfast is a cold buffet style with a choice of eggs! It's very expensive for what it is €33 each! My only grumble is there is a lot of noise from doors slamming & people talking in the halls which goes on until late and then again from early morning, Walls and doors paper thin!!!!!
Always nice to come back - Very friendly and helpful staff no matter what time you arrive or leave again With the recent renovation works almost completed it added further to the quality - keep it up...!
In short, book it and dine in the restaurant (say hello Wolfgang)! Or continue reading below to see all the other things I love about this hotel. CHECK IN: After a week of driving through Bavaria we finally arrived to Munich. They do have parking for a fee which was helpful while we had a car for a short time. We were greeted by a doorman to help us unload our things which was especially helpful as it was raining. The foyer is lovely and we were greet warmly. The decor is fresh but still has an old warm charm. Once we were handed our nice key we were escorted to our room and shown where everything is. ROOM: The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was quite comfortable and probably the best bed of our entire trip. There was plenty of room for our luggage to store it and we loved the view over looking the garden. We were gifted a nice fruit basket and welcome message along with stock mini fridge -- restocked daily free of charge! The bathroom was huge especially considering most European bathrooms are quite small. Overall, the entire room was spotless. DINING: the Staff advised that we have enjoy a meal in the restaurant especially since Wolfgang was working. He is more than just the bartender and has worked there for 20 something years if I recall correctly. He had wonderful advise on what to eat. We ordered the Tuna Tartar, Duck, and Creme Brûlée all paired with a nice Riesling for me and a beer for my husband. To this day we are still talking about how delicious that meal was. Especially the Tuna Tartar which I have never really liked before. Kudos to the chef because it was phenomenal!! The sauces on the side truly complete the flavor. The duck was lightly seared and served with sweet.vegetables that I can still taste. We later had drinks at the bar and Wolfgang kept us non locals entertained. BREAKFAST: The breakfast is also tasty with a buffet covered in a variety of savory and sweet foods. Also the buffet was fresh and constantly restocked. You cannot go hungry at this hotel that's for sure! STAFF: There was always plenty of staff ready to assist. They were pleasant and helpful with arranging airport transportation plus tourism recommendations. The hotel even offers bikes to borrow for the day. LOCATION: This was our first time in Munich but it appeared that this area was nicer that some others. It was convenient enough to everything we wanted to see by cab but we also walked to and from as well during the day without any issue. Some of the local architecture is really beautiful. We never noticed any street noise either while in our room. NEGATIVES: the only downside is that I would say this hotel isn't for the thrifty however they do seem to have some nice seasonal sales for room rates. Parking and breakfast is additional but every penny we spent was worth it for the sake of convenience plus great service, peaceful rooms, and delicious food.
