The personnel is very welcoming, the atmosphere is relaxed and sophisticated, the rooms are cozy and clean with a nice touch of design. The free drinks and snack at the lobby are a very nice gesture, the beer is 1€ only. The breakfast was very nice, I appreciated the fresh fruit, juices, organic tea and coffee. I will definitely come back
This is a nice newly renovated hotel next to the Munich east train station. I got a Komfort room which is a newer room facing the courtyard towards the back to avoid the noise and traffic in front. In terms of location it's hard to beat this hotel. It's literally right opposite the station and there are direct trains from the airport and also to the city centre which is only a few stops away. Breakfast is good and in a nice room. Staff is generally friendly and there is a counter with free drinks and snacks, as well as fruits.
In Munich on business and stayed for one night only but sorry it wasn't longer. Great location just beside the Ostbahnhof entrance. The staff were amazing - I don't know the gentleman's name who checked us in (arriving late evening) but he couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. Will be back and largely because of the staff although hotel is good too.
Just checked in which was refreshingly simple, with complimentary non alcoholic drinks and snacks in the front lobby. First impressions of a simple clear and modern hotel situated right next to the Ostbahauf U trains. Good prices considering other hotel prices in surrounding area.
I love this hotel in charming Haidhausen. The location is perfect. Entry to München Ostbahnhof is in front of the door; chemist, banks, cafés, tram stops are all steps away, but it's all very peaceful at night. All staff is friendly and helpful. Everything feels wonderfully clean. There is a free beverage mini-bar next to the front desk at the ground floor. The sumptuous breakfasts are served in beautiful rooms. There is also a nice sitting area with a small library. I'm using too much adjectives. Of course it delivers on all the basics, and much more. The heated towel drying rack is a convenient feature. Lighting options are generously varied as to be able to be customised to your preference. There is a generous supply of towels, but typical of German hotels, variation in sizes is another matter. Sparsely but tastefully furnished, the rooms have high ceilings and generous dimensions. Bedding is typical German simplified, and the mattress is a little too soft for my taste, but overall, the attractiveness of the room matches the elegance of the common areas. The guest rooms are arranged around a dramatic central atrium with processional encircling staircase that provides access to all the occupied levels. Its distinctive wallpaper pattern is a motif that is reflected on the hotel stationery-- lovely touch. The only slight hiccup I experienced is the wifi. It may be a problem with my own hardware (but I doubt it, since I only have difficulty getting online in this particular hotel, out of countless others on my travels), but the free internet wifi connection for me was sporadic-- my Microsoft Surface Pro 4 tablet running on Windows 10 ran perfectly and continuously, but my Galaxy Edge S7 phone had trouble establishing a connection throughout my three-night stay. Providing decent value, comfort, elegance, friendliness, and convenience, this hotel is a place I would gladly return to.
Design Hotel Stadt Rosenheim is right next to the East train station (Ostbahnhof), therefore it's convenient to go to everywhere through DB, U Bahn/S Bahn. Bus tops and tram stops right in front of the hotel and can take you to the central area across the river within 10 minutes. It's only 30 minutes train to the Munich airport. I can't emphasize more on the convenient location. The room is very spacious, especially considering you are in Europe. You should be able to find everything you need in the room. It's clean and comfortable. Free bottles of water in the room. There's no mini bar in the room - but free water, soft drinks, chocolate and chips on the ground floor lobby. The front desk is friendly and helpful.
The location of this hotel is excellent- close to the train station and therefor easy access to all the transportation to and from the sights we visited . We slept in the 70's room (which I was not mad about due to the shower/bath combination), but still the room was well equipped and very clean. I felt the bathroom was more outdated than 70's. However our sons room was perfect. I loved the small touches like water and sweets in the room, putting a bookmark in my book as well as the free drinks and snacks at the reception. I especially liked the helpfulness and friendliness of Veronika at reception and even the cleaning staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
Love the minibar here. Softdrinks and chocolate are free and the bottles of excellent beers are only a Euro. A lovely touch which makes the stay seem a little bit more special. The decor in the rooms is lovely and the staff are always helpful. Very convenient location just outside Munich Ost station.
Excellent service, the hotel gave us a bigger corner room (of the price category), spacious! Delicious breakfast, clean hotel, convenient location to S-Bahn (Airport ca 30min) and other destinations. Haidhausen is a nice area with good restaurants and a cosy Christmas market /Weissenburgerplatz! Hope to return some day!
We had a weekend break in Munich to visit the Christmas markets, and were not disapointed with our choice of hotel. Being right by the Osthofbahn it is easy to find and just 30 minutes from the airport. The local area has a nice feel, with plenty of local bars and restaurants. To get to Munich city centre is 5 minutes by S-bahn or tram (day tickets are cheap and allow travel on trains, trams and buses), or about 25 minutes walk. The walk takes you past the posh shops, which also means some posh cars outside them. We left an apple and a paperback book on the table in our room, when we got back in the evening there was a plate, napkin and knife to eat the apple and a Rosenheim bookmark. It is the little things that make a hotel special. Wi-Fi is strong all over the hotel. our room was modern yet cosy and warm. Good sized TV. Our room was at the front of the hotel which does mean there is occasionally noise from rowdy tram travellers at the weekend, in winter it is not a problem with the windows shut, but could be annoying in summer. At reception they have a selection of soft drinks and snacks, and they sell large bottles of beer for only 1euro. Kathrin (Katie), Veronica and Phillip at reception spoke good English and were very helpful, and were able to recommend good local restaurants.
