Overall, I would recommend this hotel for travelers to Munich. Pros: Central location: easy walk to the central railway station and major tourist spots. Great breakfast. Great WiFi. Friendly hotel staff. Functional Gym. Cons: Neighborhood is a bit dodgy, especially during the evening hours. We didn't experience any trouble. Gym is small and claustrophobic. Would have been nicer to have a window or two to let natural light in. TIP: instead go out RUNNING!
Room clean and quiet, excellent helpful staff, great restaurant, excellent breakfast; near public transportation and many city sites of interest nearby.
My husband and I went to Munich for a long weekend and even though it rained the entire time, the hotel was beautiful! It was nicely located within walking distance of the main square and the tram line and all the good restaurants. The breakfast buffet is incredible...put most American ones to shame. The bar area in the evening was a fun place to relax and enjoy a few beverages with some locals as well as other international visitors. I highly recommend this hotel.
Large rooms by European standards. One complaint is the relatively high cost of internet access in the rooms.
Hotel was in a great location. Easy to get around, the Central Train Station was only 2 blocks away. The staff spoke English and was polite and friendly. Helped with all our questions, gave directions and suggested places to see.
This hotel was very similar to a Marriott experience you would have in the States. The rooms were well organized, clean, and contained all the necessary ammenities. The beds were very comfortable. The staff was very helpful and patient with American tourists. The only thing that was not pleasant was the surrounding neighborhood, which had several adult shops and clubs, but overall I would not let this keep me from staying at this hotel again in the future. It was very close to the train station where many of the site-seeing tours meet to leave, and it was also very close to the main marketplace, which was the central shopping/pedestrian district.
Hotel was very convenient as it is walking distance to Train station and the City Centre. Staff were very friendly and courteous. Arrived too early for check-in but was given an available room which was a treat. Restaurant Food was excellent. Best value for what I have paid for.
We stayed here with our children for a week. The hotel is in an excellent location with a friendly staff that speak excellent English. We walked every day throughout the city with our children and felt very safe and centrally located with our hotel choice. The main train station is just one street over as well as many of the tour companies. Munich is a wonderful city and I would recommend staying at the Courtyard City Center.
This is the perfect hotel for visitors wanting to see Munich --- the location is fantastic! Close to Christmas Markets, train stations, churches, tourist information, and wonderful Munich restaurants. The hotel management is based on customer service -- ask a question, they have the answer, or will find out the information for you. Trust me, we found their information invaluable! It was perfect home base for our twelve day Christmas holiday.
Quiet yet near central Berlin. Excellent food and staff.
The Courtyard by Marriot was a luxury hotel at an economy price! Perfect location just a few minutes walk from old downtown and the train station. Everything was extremely spacious, clean and modern, from the carpet in the hallways to the pillows on the comfy bed. Large bathroom, flat screen TV, plenty of storage space and above all else extremely quiet despite the fact it's located on a busy street. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful as well and all spoke very good english. Breakfast wasn't included but was available at a trendy restaurant on the first floor, but for the price, I wouldn't expect breakfast and savings on the rate made up for it-there's plenty of bistros and restaurants to stop by in the neighbohood. Whether on a business or vacation trip with or without children, I would stay at this hotel again for sure. The best hotel value I've experienced in Europe by far.
Its a good basic hotel for sleeping in a good location near to the main train station and old city. There is a restaurant and some food items for purchase in the lobby but no mini-bar. The rooms are small but the beds are comfortable and quiet.
Great location within 10-15 minutes walk to Christmas Markets, Glockenspiel/New Town Hall as well as Octoberfest grounds. Staff was great, courteous, helped with directions and dinner reservations.
took a little time to find the hotel so it would be good if they offer exact directions from the train station. but it is very accessible from the station and not far from main tourist area. staff is nice and hotel is clean and update. it is a good choice overall.
The hotel was located near all the main sites in Munich, including the Oktoberfest fair grounds. The staff was very helpful and polite and the rooms were very nice and comfortable. It met our needs very nicely. The only negative was that they did not replace towels very regularly.
We were in Munich for vacation and sight seeing. The staff was very helpful in giving directions to various places to see and restaurants to eat at. One referral to a restaurant called the Augustiner (sp?) was disappointing in that the service was poor, seating was poor but the food was delicious. The room was spotless. We had drinks in the bar both evenings we were there and had a communication problem on the type of drink to order. The staff was wonderful in accommodating us and explaining the differences between American ordering and German ordering (very educational). All in all it was a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone. Thank you.
Hotel was within an easy 5-minute walk to the main train station so access to the city was great. Lots of casual eating places close by as well. Restaurant in hotel has a delightful Mediterranean selection.
We spent 3 nights in the hotel, traveling from Riga, Latvia to San Francisco. We paid very reasonable price of $80 per night. Our room was very clean, quite and super comfortable. Spotless bathroom, with nice size bath tub, powerful shower, hairdryer, lots of counter space. Really comfortable bed with nice bedding. Good selection of tea and coffee, teapot, refrigirator, safe, tv, even window could be open. The only thing that could be better is lacation, though it is not too bad and very close to the central train station, however to get to the city center you need 10 minutes walk on the street populated with sex shops, low class shops and people. It is not dangerous, but unpleasant.
We walked about 2 blocks from the station.
We had a great time with our stay at the Marriott in Munich. The location was within a short distance to the major train station and local attractions. We walked safely to all the main tourist sites and restaurants. Would be happy to stay there again. One of the staff members even guided us on a 5 minute walk to the train station so we knew exactly where we needed to be. Above and beyond hospitality!
