We stayed over New Year‘s. The location is very good: silent yet very close to the city center and the „englischer Garten“ Park. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is incredibly nice and helpful.
This hotel was chosen because we had agreed to meet with other friends here for our onward holiday journey to a different destination after Munich. To ensure that we had space, we stayed at a Junior Suite with a balcony which was very well appointed except that it didn't have any coffee/tea facility. The room was spacious enough to accommodate both our 31" suitcases bursting at the seams, the shower was awesome and we had a nice tub for soaking in after a cold winter outing, and the bed was quite comfy (although, note to the hotel manager - you may want to consider turning the mattress over so that you avoid dents in certain areas!). We had a little misunderstanding with the staff but it was quickly attended to and remedied within the same evening which was a huge plus for the hotel in terms of making sure that the customer experience remains positive at all times. Although some of the staff are temporary, the level of professionalism is preserved and we do appreciate it very much. Breakfast was lovely - quite typical for Germany with an assortment of breads, antipasti, cheeses and fruits / juices. The breakfast staff was equally lovely too and it must've been hard to still attend to us even on Christmas day but we didn't feel that we were "rushed" so that they can end breakfast faster. We were instead greeted with warm smiles and everyone took their time to enjoy breakfast in their own cosy corner of the room. Location-wise, it's in a quieter neighborhood - which is great! - and the Lehel metro is just a few steps away. There are several other restaurants around the corner for your choice of eateries. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to the main square depending on your stride, but it's also nice that you get to walk along the high-end boutiques to get there so you don't feel like it takes a long time to get there. All in, it's a pretty hotel and they do take pains to ensure that you enjoy your stay and that it's comfortable for you. We won't mind staying here again if we're in Munich the next time around.
This is a really good place to stay if you want to walk to a lot of the tourist attractions in Munich. It also has a underground station access very close by to the hotel. The staff are friendly and will assist with most questions regarding how to access attractions and nice places to eat in Munich centre and close by. The area where the hotel is situated is lovely with an old church close by with a nice platz or square. The Englisher Garten is close by for a walk and it would be beautiful in the summer. We stayed in a Junior Suite on the ground floor which made access easy. Breakfasts are in a very nicely appointed breakfast room and there was nice fresh fruit including raspberries and blueberries.
I am very happy about my stay at this lovely hotel with its elegant decoration and cosy atmosphere. Staff was very friendly, breakfast was excellent and generous. I loved the variety of fresh fruits as well as the tasty variety of breads - typical for Germany - I love it! The breakfast room was also very beautiful. I can only recommend that hotel which is very close to metro station Lehel and only 3 stops away from Munich main station.
I'm often in Munich due to my job and this my favourite place to stay. Staff are friendly, rooms are comfortable, breakfast buffet is very good, there are plenty of lovely bars and restaurants, supermarkets and bakers in the neighborhood. It is right next to an U-Bahn station and just a few minutes ride from Munich's main station.
A lovely in a quiet residential neighbourhood, only 5 minutes from the Englischer Garten, and 15 minutes from the centre, with a few amenities, bakeries and cafes, a wine bar and couple of restaurants. The hotel itself was quite small, in a more traditional style, nice rooms, very quiet, warm.
I stayed at this hotel in a single room and it was very comfortable. The bed was excellent quality, sheets and decor to match. It was lovely and toasty in the room too. The build quality of the rooms etc is good and I would certainly visit again. All I would say is that it is not newly decorated so if you are after a modern hotel you might be deflated. But if you like a quality German hotel bang in the centre it certainly does the job.
Very good hotel, nice beds, clean and nice staff, quiet neighbourhood. The extensive breakfast is highly recommended. Around the hotel are several nice restaurants. Easy to walk to the center of the town. Visit their website for more details!
This is a very comfortable hotel in an upscale neighborhood. It's very walkable to many of Munich's famous sites and just a few blocks from the fabulous shopping on Maximilianstrasse. The breakfast was better than most, both food-wise and ambiance. Best of all, the eggs were perfectly cooked.
As a traveler very familiar with Munich and its hotels, I find it quite difficult to adequately review this property. The location is excellent, at walking distance to Marienplatz and the pedestrian old-town area, and just steps away from the underground, thus easy access to the entire city. They describe themselves as a “boutique hotel with charm and class”, and rave about their place and “atmosphere” (especially in the German version). Upon arrival, one finds a repurposed typical neo-classical middle-class house, with old furnishings and outdated décor. The only attractive “antique” space is the lobby, with its comfy seating area by the fireplace and the expansive library. The small single room and the breakfast area were in my eyes less charming, and a far cry from the promised indulgence; maybe the deluxe rooms are different. However, everything is spotless clean, the bed comfortable and the small bathroom modern and functional. They honored my request for a quiet room - even got a room with a tiny balcony to the courtyard, and the provided free bottle of water was much appreciated. The entire staff was very friendly, helpful, and professional and I got help with luggage on the flight of stairs from the reception to the entrance. In a rather untypical way, breakfast was not included in the price, and in retrospect it was not worth the money – average quality and selection at an over average price point. Overall, the hotel is a good choice in central location, but one can find much better value for the money, especially considering the extensive construction going on across the street.
