I was greeted by a very enthousiastic lady at the reception who immediately made me feel welcome. Very important to have such a good first impression because this always reflects on the rest of your stay. The room, though small, was very efficiently planned. A sliding door to alter between the toilet and/or shower. I don't mind the glass partition between the bathroom and bedroom. As a solo traveller there's no need for privacy, but I can imagine some people would mind. I think it was just a clever way to make the room look less cramped. The hotel doesn't have a parking but they offer a discount if you park your car in the parking garage just a few steps away from the hotel. The area is not the best, but I didn't feel unsafe at any moment. Breakfast was good, nice variety of breads, danish pastries, cereal and some cooked items. Would recommend this place
We stayed at Cocoon hotel for 3 nights and left totally satisfied. Such a nice hotel at very good location. 5 minutes away from the train station. All kinds of transportation choices almost just right outside the door. Comfortable and clean rooms. We had fresh sheets and towels everyday. The highlight of the room was the glass seperated bathroom area, right next to the bed. The receptionists were really kind and friendly. They helped us with anything we needed. At a future trip to Munich, we are definitely staying there again.
Stayed for 1 night and kinda glad because of the area. It's busy and very diverse. Location isn't bad. It is nice to stay on the 5th floor just to have the balcony even if it's not really a view of anything.
Stayed at this groovy hotel for a short visit to the beautiful city of Munich to see GunsnRoses at the Olympic Stadium. We had a room with a double and single bed, funky chair hanging from the ceiling and a balcony to enjoy a late refreshment prior to retiring for the evening! Well decorated with a shower room and toilet off the open plan space. A shared sliding door for both meant you could only have privacy for the toilet or the shower at the one time. This wasn't a problem for us though. Comfortable, clean and great value! One thing which may be a problem for some is the hotel is in the heart of the strip joint and lap dancing bar area. We used the hotel as a crash pad only, so spent no time in the area other than that. I can't comment on the dining facilities as we didn't utilise them.
I stayed here for two nights, and it's a really nice, quirky little hotel with excellent staff. It's close to the Munich central station (about 200m), so if you're coming in, or heading out of munich by rail, this should suit you just fine. Marienplatz is within walking distances, and there's a lot of shopping around as well. Loved the fact that they gave a EUR5 voucher for the bar in exchange for house-keeping (was there for just two nights so didn't matter much to me). The wifi was good, and the room had enough space. Definitely good value for money
Wow, what a great hotel! Nice atmosphere, cleverly constructed interiors, very complete and smart! Very good breakfast, all fresh and lits of choice. Excellent service!! Nice central location, direct line with s-bahn to airport.
The reason for my terrible rating was because of one issue, which is totally unacceptable. If it wasn't for this one issue I would give it a 3 star rating: amenities were few, but everything was clean and professional, but the price was the best in town. The issue: I had accidentally booked 3 rooms at the hotel due to the fact that the cocoon website never sent a confirmation email or given me some sort of confirmation of reservation. Eventually I had discovered the issue and reached out to their support team, who in my eyes had fixed the issue: I canceled via email the other 2 reservations and received a response confirming the cancellation. Months go by and we check into the hotel and are charged for 3 hotel rooms and the person at the desk refused to cancel the other 2, even though I showed an email telling support that they made a mistake on the website. The guy at the counter basically said that it didn't count unless I specially said in the email which rooms I had cancelled. It wasn't until the 2nd day that I was able to find the exact email where I had said I wanted to cancel the other 2 rooms and the person from support confirming. Up until the end of this fiasco, the guy at the counter said he just wanted to do what's best for us both, to which i replied what was best for me was for the other 2 rooms to be cancelled. He said he had a boss he had to report to. This fiasco made me think this guy had no incentive to actually help me out unless he really was forced to or even worse he had some sort of incentive to charge me for these rooms. To add insult to injury, I was still charged all the taxes and fees on the two rooms, which I didn't realized until well after our trip. I am not a stressful person and am always very courteous to any business I deal with, but if I wasn't able to find that email I would have been charged over $1000 for a mistake that they made, and they also charged me ~$50 for fees and such for hotel rooms that were not mine. Stay here if you are on a budget, but watch out, you may end up getting royally screwed.
I must admit when I first got to the room I was disappointed. It was very small and lacking daylight. Those facts didn't change but the room grew on me each night of the 4 we stayed there. Great space saving with the door for the toilet doubling up as the shower room door as well. Comfortable bed and I liked the idea of having a quilt each on our king sized bed rather than just one that we argue over. Hotel drinks were cheap. Breakfast, again the first day I was disappointed, but again over the course of the 4 days I began to appreciate it. Except the hot part of the breakfast everything else was just enough. I would have liked a safe having come from a 2 day business meeting and had laptop with me but apart from that you really can't fault this hotel for the price and the excellent location it's in.
Stayed here several months ago and hotel was very clean and fairly priced. Room's take some getting used to but are functional and kind of fun. Only reason I give 3 instead of 4 is I got charged for breakfast for my 3 days there which I did not use and did not opt into. If people are going to be charged for breakfast let them know instead of letting them pay and never even go.
We had two nights here. The room was pretty cool, all open plan and relatively spacious. The hotel is walking distance to the train station and other points of interest. We really liked that if you didn't want housekeeping they gave you a 5 Euro voucher towards drinks in the hotel. Staff were friendly and good wifi.
