Absolutely love this place! Great location in a quiet neighborhood, but a quick walk to the entertainment district! Karen, the host, is so incredibly friendly. She immediately welcomed us and gave us great recommendations for dinner. Had a great variety of quick options for breakfast, and she even whipped up some bacon and eggs. 🥓🥚 We're also able to leave our car while we're cruising so we save on parking 💵 I'm certain that if we travel this way again, this is where we'll stay. 10/10

Wonderful location, and ok for an overnight, would not be my choice next time around. This place is quaint, nice, but not for everyone. The land lady was pleasant, nice, welcoming, offered any assistance needed etc. In our room the bed was not comfortable, huge space between the bed-frame and mattress, had an awful loud squeak to it every-time you'd switch sides. The difficulty was the bathroom. The sink WOULD not drain what so ever and the bath tub/shower was the most uncomfortable one I had ever experienced. I stepped in and out, no shower. In general the bathroom was not inviting nor functional (keeping in mind that I pay for functionality and use). Breakfast was ok, it got you started for the day! None of the windows open in this house, not quite sure where and how the air circulates. Design wise a little too much mardi gras paraphernalia, you got to like it. Once again, just simply not for everyone, but my intention in the review is to draw attention to the situation in the bathroom.

Together with my husband we are doing a road trip in South. We found this B&B last minute and we could not be more fortunate. The house is very welcoming, clean and with super friendly atmosphere. The location is great, just few minutes walk to everything in Mobile. Landlady is very helpful, providing all info one needs. We even could use washing machine. Breakfast was the highlight of a day (great variation of coffee choice). We really enjoyed our stay here.

I stayed a night during Mardi Gras, which was perfect because it was just a couple short blocks from the civic center. It's away from the crazy downtown area but still close, so close you can walk. The room was modern but had that feel of old to it. The common area was no fuss. It had everything I needed and made myself at home. I loved that art and the look of the house. The porch is perfect to sit on while drinking a beverage. I would stay here again.

We spent 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Our room was upstairs in the front with a balcony. It was roomy, the bed super comfortable and the bathroom - gorgeous. Karen was extremely helpful with restaurants, things to see and do and even cooked us a homemade breakfast. Nice to have free off street parking too. We would go back in an instant.

I discovered The Petrinovich House, known locally as the Mardi Gras House, just this past week on a spur-of-the-moment trip to Mobile. What a fantastic property! The owner Karen was wonderful and went out of her way to ensure my stay was great. The Jasmine Room is a beautiful suite complete with a spa shower and a balcony. The entire B&B is great and centrally located within walking distance to everything. I look forward to staying here again.

Where I plan to stay each time I come. Big family house atmosphere with privacy. Best of both worlds. Walking distance to downtown. Parking on site. Breakfast is in the fridge or buffet when you are ready to eat. Well equipped kitchen and dining room if you want to eat a meal in. Karen is the absolute best. This place is loaded with character!

This was as great place to stay. Very convenient to downtown. We stayed one night prior to a cruise and the owner took us to the port and let us park for free for the duration of the cruise. We love the house and the hospitality of the owner. Looking to book again for the next cruise.

The Mardi Gras House was a wonderful place for a brief overnight passing through town. It is blocks from good dining, in a charming neighborhood suitable for a good walk after a long drive, and very comfortable. Karen is super accommodating and thoughtful, anticipating guest needs. This is a restored 19C boarding house, not a private home. The common areas are really common. There's a lovely living room (decorated with costumed mannequins!), dining room stocked with self-serve breakfast items (so much more than coffee, and so many choices of coffee!), a fully functional kitchen and fridge. Azalea has a private en suite bath and also a door to a small private porch. I left the door open all night to enjoy the breeze coming from the water and through the palm trees. Again, Karen anticipates guest needs: toiletries, hair dryer, good wifi. The house is decorated with Mardi Gras in mind, and indeed this would be a terrific place to stay if you were in town any of this 3-week event. The house is one block off the parade route. Every house in the neighborhood decorates for Mardi Gras like Christmas. The house is also very near the waterfront, just a few blocks away from the cruise terminal. So, if you were in town for a cruise, intending to stay the night before, this is a perfect choice. You'll have a lovely stay, be near good restaurants and live music, and Karen will take you to the cruise terminal. Lots of good free parking, too.

We loved our short stay in the Petrinovich House! Lovely comfortable room and modern bathroom, character filled house, and a fantastic host in Karen the owner. We really enjoyed our conversations with her and the helpful tips she provided. A great bonus was the full recycling facilities as we like to recycle as we travel as much as we can. Very convenient to down town. A memorable part of our trip to the American South.
