Candlewood Suites Downtown2.5 out of 5.0

I stayed at this location for 8 days in Oct 2017. I enjoyed this hotel very much. It was quiet for being a downtown hotel. The rooms are very accommodating and came with an adequate amount of items in the kitchen to cook with. The check-in is very easy and the front desk staff was very nice and very accommodating. They have a nice little shop with various items that you may need in a pinch and you can pay on the spot or charge things to your room. Parking is spotty in the main parking lot but they have a garage for overflow parking directly behind the hotel, right across the street, and it seems to be pretty secure. I had no issues parking in there. Overall, this is a great hotel. I would love it if they had breakfast but it was not a terrible inconvenience. They do have coffee all the time. Really, there is nothing negative that I can say about this particular Candlewood Suites. I am just happy that they are as clean and nicely maintained and this all comes at a very affordable price. Try them out. I cannot see you being disappointed.
We stayed down there for a Wednesday night, it was very easy to walk to downtown. The room was basic and all we needed. Staff was very helpful with recommendations. Parking was free and easy to get to.
The Candlewood suites was the nearest pet-friendly hotel of decent quality we could find because essentially the entire state of Florida was under evacuation orders. Because of this there we a LOT of dogs there during our stay but it worked out perfectly. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The vicinity of the hotel was well suited to our needs (i.e., numerous nearby green spaces to walk the dogs, several good restaurants to get carry-out food). I would stay there again (hopefully under better circumstances and without the critters).
We evacuated Naples FL with Hurricane Irma on our doorstep and had a reservation at the hotel. The first night we ended up sleeping in a rest area for 1-1/2 hours and couldn't check in until the next day. Called them and they said not to worry. Finally arrived, checked in and got unpacked. The hotel is an extended stay facility so the rooms have two burner cooktops, dishwasher, full fridge and freezer and grills outside so you can cook if need be. There is a small pool and patio area with a TV so you can sit outside if the weather is OK. Everyone at the hotel was so gracious to all the Floridians staying that it was amazing. The staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful than they were. If we ever get back to Mobile will definitely book a room here.
Loved the location of the hotel and the fact that it was Pet Friendly was outstanding. Bienville Square is a beautiful square and a great place to walk your dog. Felt very safe in the area around the hotel and in downtown Mobile. Only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is that other "extended stay" hotels offer some type of breakfast and this facility offer nothing for breakfast. Not even fruit or a muffin. The rooms was clean, quiet, great AC, and nice full size Fridge in the rooms. Free Parking was available but a bit limited. Pool area looked very nice.
If any hotel is close to perfect, it would be this one. They are gladly willing to accommodate their guests any way possible. Suites are simply the best. Pleasant outdoor pool and grill area. Rates are affordable, location is 2 or 3 blocks from Dauphin Street. Walking distance to all great restaurants.
We had planned on just a one night stopover on the way to New Orleans, but enjoyed our stay so much we changed our return plans and stayed two additional nights on our way back home to Greenville. The suite was comfortable for us and our two dogs, the service was friendly & attentive, and the location is close to quite a few great restaurants with pet friendly outside dining. Add an affordable rate and presto - Encore
This is actually a very good hotel located in the heart of downtown Mobile and near the Port. The hotel offers a Cruise Special for guest staying at the hotel before sailing out of the Port of Mobile.
Our stay was very comfortable and the staff was friendly and professional. The room was clean and quiet. The water pressure in the shower was good and having a fridge was nice. Restaurants are all a short walk away which is very convenient. Parking is on site and costs $8.80 per night. I would recommend this to anyone passing through Mobile for sure!
Newly renovated suites hotel in downtown Mobile. Easy parking behind hotel. Friendly staff, and spacious rooms with full kitchen, new beds and TV, and reliable WiFi. Excellent value. Clean and quiet. My only very modest negative was that there's a single elevator, so at peak times there may be a minor wait. The Lending Pantry is a very nice touch that helps assure that all your needs are met.
