I was hoping for a room with no carpet like the Red Roof I had in Louisville, Ky. I found it a tremendous upgrade that my Louisville Red Roof had no carpet. Thus floors can be cleaned and sanitized easily. So, why did this one install carpet 😢The plaid carpet in my room appears pretty new and “clean” but in my opinion no carpet in hotels can be clean. This hotel is visible from I65 and is located just behind McDonald’s off Dauphin so not a sketchy area at all. However, it is low cost chain hotel so expect working class, blue collar people for God sake or people like me who want value that is a balance of clean, safe, convenient accommodations for a reasonable price. Room includes microwave and dorm fridge, flat screen, and minimal extras. Got two free cold waters at check in by being Redi card members. We booked the super king which advertised in room coffee ... cups but no pot or coffee provided in room. Recommend cleaning supervisor open every drawer as I did find trash (McD sack) in one drawer. Still I am giving Red Roof chain another chance after this as this one is ok and one in a Louisville was great. I’d say the chain is trying to move up. Room 116 is in perhaps a noisy location across from soda machines and beside the laundry, in the breezeway. Heard a couple of times people buying sodas from machine, otherwise quiet until some couple started fussing at 5am. I called office and he said he was coming. Fussing stopped. Room 116 updated but if noise bothers you might consider different location (on side by entrance seems quietest location as doesn’t face I65.) Don’t consider the free breakfast in your decision in this hotel as it is meager at best. Toaster doesn’t work. Only powdered creamer. Definitely not as good as the RR we stayed in Louisville Ky

I would give it zero stars if I could. The facts that the place was a little sketchy and half the building was being renovated I could adjust to. The deal breaker for me was when I went out the second night to get some food and came back to strangers in my room. There was an initial panic, but after the first few pumps of adrenaline I did a quick but inconspicuous check for stolen items, I found my money in a bag where I had left it, but the laptop was missing. I asked the couple (with a not unacceptable level of threat in my questioning) where my laptop had gone. The woman casually showed me she had put it in a drawer so it wouldn't get stolen. This cemented my opinion on this couples stupidity and their innocence. If they were looking to rob me, why would they have their shoes off and put my laptop in a drawer? I then suggested all three of us withdraw to the main office so that I may have a pointed conversation with the night manager. My conversation with the night manager was decidedly more heated especially when it came to questions about why she had given strangers a key to my room. She at first said she was confused because they were in there the night before. When I told her that I was in the room the night before, she started coming up with every excuse under the sun. I started to lose the ability to track and string together her poorly created string of scenarios and excuses. The manager's intellectual level was akin to that of my unexpected visitors. It is now weeks later and I still don't know exactly what happened. I have been in touch with the owner of the business and Red Roof Inn corporate explaining my dismay at the potential danger I was put in by their careless and lazy employee and have received nothing but empty words and apologies, Suffice to say, I will never use Red Roof again for any of my overnight lodging

I checked in and walked right back out to the desk to cancel my stay. Was told I would still be charged for a night as they offered an 'upgraded room,' and I had already checked in. Sketchy people, stains on sheets and bedding, bed sunk in. Stay away!!

Paid for Supreme king room. Upon arrival, NO coffee pot, NO hair dryer. Called desk about no coffee pot, they said will send one to the room. 3 HOURS LATER, no coffee pot. Called again, they sent a coffee pot. At 7 am the next morning, coffee pot DOES NOT WORK, just when a coffee pot should. Took the coffee pot to front desk, said I need another. He said cant help you, have to wait for maintenance to get there at 9 am., they will bring one. He was very arrogant when he spoke. Obviously he can easily get a job anywhere, because if I was a manager and he spoke to a customer like that, he would be on the street. Needless to say, I checked out at 1040 am and STILL NO COFFEE POT ! Roaches in the nightstand drawers. Sink faucet could only be off or on, no changing to hot or cold. Sink drained very slow. About 10 minutes to drain if almost half full. Outside trash receptacles were ALL running over with trash. Horns blowing most of the night outside, I believe it was a contest and they all won. The ONLY reason I give this Hotel a rating of ONE is because there is no ZERO rating. Highly advise against this hotel in Mobile Al. There are a lot of friendlier hotels there to stay at and I am sure MOST would appreciate the business. And yes, I did speak with the manager and there was NO satisfaction, which makes me believe this would surely happen again. This Red Roof Inn is a bad mark against Red Roof Inns DO NOT STAY HERE.

The hotel is a little tired but it is clean and reasonably well maintained Clean room comfortable bed. Reasonable cost. Looks like an old best western. Just spent one night wile traveling thru. Very pleased. Not luxury but clean and comfortable.

Had reservations but after arriving and realized with the junkie cars in the lot and Guests that appeared to be living by the month just sitting on out-side their rooms .... We quickly decided we didn't want to stay the night . I Walked in and cancelled my reservations, Then continued on .... driving all night and reaching home 8 hours later exhausted.

I wouldn't stay here again. The room smelled bad. It was a nonsmoking room but the smell wasn't smoke. It was musty and stale like old shoes and a cat litter box. The faucet was broken. It needs new carpet, paint, and repairs.

First off the smell was musty when we entered our room, then the air conditioning and lamps didn't work. They switched us to another room and that air conditioning didn't work either and smelled worse than the first one. I went to the front desk for another room and was told no then we were refused a refund. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Had appointment in Mobile and all near by other motels booked. No other options but this place! I knew it was going to be awful from an earlier experience. At the last minute ,on my prior visit to mobile ,another motel had a room become available and I took it. This time no such luck. Room was smelly, dirty around bed area, tub in bad shape,sink faucet came off in my hand, sheets had small stains,exhaust fan and air conditioning very loud and pulled in heavy cigarette smoke from outside of my room. Cigarette butts in parking lot and down sidewalks. As long as places like this can make money.... they are not going to fix / repair their rooms. Only until people refuse to rent these run down rooms will the owners make any attempt at providing a safe, clean and nice room for travelers needing a place to stay while vacationing or in Mobile on business. Too bad Mobile doesn’t have unannounced regular inspections of these places and issues “fix it or close it” warnings. I stayed here for the low rate and the pet-friendliness. Good location, not sketchy, close to several food options, easy off-on highway, easy drive to downtown. Room was entirely adequate. Showed several signs of age, and while not immaculate (they ran out of NS rooms, so we had a smoking room with strong smoke smell), it was clean. Front desk was friendly and helpful.
