The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles5.0 out of 5.0

This hotel is really a Marriott -- complete with the cheap-feeling room, the terrible in-room dining, and the shoddy cleaning. Best of all, it costs double the price. Had to stay here for business, but will never come back.
The Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles is a fine hotel. Located in the LA Live area, it is adjacent to multiple forms of entertainment and dining options. The staff is attentive and courteous. The rooms are spacious and inviting. I would recommend highly the Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles for anyone on either a trip for business or pleasure.
I was only able to stay one night. The hotel was very well decorated. Stayed in a suite. Very modern & beautiful. Wished I had time to sample the concierge lounge, spa, & fitness center. I would like to come back & stay longer to sample the amenities & cuisine
I was excited booking Ritz Carlton LA as I expected Ritz as in the top tier of hotels. Versus expectations, it fell short. Maybe it was the absence of a grand lobby. And a busy looking front desk with many front desk personnel, but there was a small reception with one staff. He was professional and amiable, though, and this comment is not directed at him - - more about the look and feel of the reception area. In fact, even the concierge guy who ushered us to our room was good, and asked us to call if there is anything we need. The gentlemen at the door, when we were waiting for out fetch on check out, were also very nice, and even offered us bottled water. 5 stars for the hotel personnel we encountered. Small complaints. There was no bidet in the toilet - - even as I know this is not "standard". I would appreciate this feature. Also, I called front/desk and the operator a couple of times, and there was no reply on the first tries, even as I patiently waited for an answer. Got thru on the third try.
The Ritz-Carlton in LA Live was the best hotel my wife and I have ever staid in. The reason for this is the exceptional service they offer. We are vegan and they went out of the way to accommodate us. The rooms ate super clean and stylish! The club lounge was amazing as well!
My check in experience was amazing. The front desk accomadated me with all my needs and also gave my party a bottle of beer each. The rooms were clean, tidy, and you can't beat the nice view of Los Angeles. The only downside was that the beds didn't feel luxurious at all. They felt like you were sleeping on a boulder. Overall it was a great experience.
Place is located in the heart of LA Live. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants and nearby shops. Great views of LA and surrounding areas.. We like staying here when we are hanging out in LA cuz it's close by many hot spots and the staff is super awesome and attentive... the club lounge is nice filled with lots of wine, desserts, and food :) They also offer a late check out 3pm which is better than most places where the latest is at noon or 1pm. Overall we love it :)
I had issues during my stay and the staff handled it very professionally. I was surprised to see how open they are to satisfy their clients. I will like to say thank you to Mr. Amar El Naqa, for helping me with the breakfast and making sure that he follow up with my feedback. I will always come and stay in Ritz Carlton LA, the best customer service and place.
I called 3 times prior to landing in LA to confirm that my booking had gone through because the reservation was not appearing at the front desk as this is apparently the hotel’s policy. Having stayed at Ritz properties in Singapore and Spain, this was unusual to begin with. But the call center operators were polite and confirmed that all was fine and that all the charges had been received by them. This was important to me as my girlfriend was arriving from London earlier than I was and I wanted to ensure that the room was available to her to freshen up and rest. Upon her arrival, she was told that the exact same card that I had used to make the booking was required. This was not communicated to me at any point during the online booking process or when I called the hotel three times. The lady at the front desk by the name of Lauren was extremely rude in her behavior as well. She apparently mentioned to my girlfriend that all she could offer her was a seat and a glass of water. This is the response of the Ritz Carlton to a guest who has travelled for 12.5 hours on a flight. My girlfriend was not even offered a seat at the Wolfgang Puck restaurant to get herself some food or a cup of tea. When I landed in LA and called my girlfriend, I was told of the situation. I immediately called the hotel and this same Lauren was extremely rude to me as well. My girlfriend was in front of her when I was on the phone. Apprently, when I ended the call with Lauren, my girlfirend saw that she muttered some unpleasantries - again, some really terrible training and service. Upon raising this to the hotel, not a single correspondence was sent my way asking about what had transpired and how my stay could have been made better. Possibly among the worst hotel stays in my life so far. I am pretty sure I will never be staying at any Ritz property ever again. I hope this Lauren is trained better and is taught some manners at minimum.
The Ritz Carlton as a rule offers superior quality in their rooms, service, and food (especially the food) and the LA location is no exception. The staff are fantastic, the food excellent and the cleanliness and fittings of the facility/rooms in general were very, very good. We will definitely stay again.
