Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Hollywood Walk of Fame

2.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

The location was great and the place was clean, I just hate they were doing renovations while we were there. The grab and go breakfast was decent, but most Holiday Inn Express normally have a hot breakfast. The price for the parking daily was extremely pricey and the laundry machine prices was way to high. But overall it was a good stay.

Excellent Service & staff. Very friendly and polite. Excellent breakfast. Large variety. 5 star hotel.

The mattress was terrible or the bed frame was broke not sure. Other than that the stay was great.

Renovated clean spacious efficient and close to walk of fame

The hotel is under renovation. Our room looks semi-finished, and smells like paint. The hall carpets were stained and dirty. The elevators are quite temperamental. The valet parking became a problem because I am disabled. The valet attendant adjusted all the seats and mirrors, which made things unnecessarily difficult. Also, my car was not parked in the handicap spot up front as requested for easy access to my car. I ended up revoking valet privileges from the hotel and kept my key, in order to insure I was not further inconvenienced or made late to any of my appointments. Breakfast was ok. The wifi was hit or miss. We had NO mobile service in the entire hotel with two different carriers.

Close to Hollywood Blvd. Easy walk to many attractions.

We arrived early, and so I checked in early, for a “small fee” of $150, that was never communicated to me, and I had to ask what it was three times. The curtains had holes in them and the drapes dont close, so the sun doesn’t allow going to sleep late. The room smelled musty, so we had to leave the air on st all times. The first night, our room wasn’t cleaned, and when I complained that the room needed attention, the front desk person said he’d have to check if they could get to it that night. It was six o’clock when I said something, not midnight. The free breakfast was inedible, and the pool looked uninviting. Apparently the parking fee also isn’t included in the reservation online, so that was an unexpected expense at check out. We would have been better off staying at the Best Western next door.

very close to major sight seeing places but parking charge is 28$ per day

Staff very accommodating and professional. Valet personnel, Jonathan is very polite Andy attentive, Maria at front desk listened and accommodatednour request to accommodate our son's allergies. Breakfast was great and restaurant staff efficient and maintained cleanliness in the restaurant.

Located close to Hollywood blvd, within a short drive to the Griffith Observatory which provides great views of the city and Hollywood sign. Highly recommended!

This Hotel is close to Hollywood boulevard and also close to route 101 needed to go to Disneyland, Universal Studios, downtown L.A. and L.A. zoo. It's also not too far from Griffith park, Las Feliz blvd and Beverly Hills by car. They have valet parking for $20 a night. As previous reviewers mentioned, it is nearly impossible to make a left turn out of the hotel parking garage as N. Highland street is a very busy street. You need to make a right out of the hotel then make a u-turn at the third traffic light. Their breakfast is the best I've ever had in a hotel (I always pick hotels that have free breakfast). Their scrambled eggs and cinnamon swirls are great. Hollywood Blvd is about three short blocks away. We stayed in the third floor. The breakfast, pool and fitness room are located in the fourth floor. The only downside with being in the third floor, if you are a late riser, is the possibility to get disturbed by a fitness fanatic using the treadmill early in the morning, which you will be able to hear from your room. It is a great hotel and I would recommend it to anyone I knew.

Amazing all things i love it so much not more to say

I chose this hotel from a list of "recommended" hotels on my daughter's college website. It served its purpose. The hotel was clean, as was my room. The staff that I interacted with from the front desk, the staff in the breakfast bar, the valets were friendly and cordial. Hotel is a very short walk to Hollywood Boulevard, including TLC Chinese theatre, Dolby theatre, etc. I read a review somewhere that stated it was nearly impossible to make a left hand turn out of the hotel and boy are they right! Thankfully I didn't need to travel that way but trying to get into the parking garage turning left is quite a challenge too!

This hotel was in a perfect location. If places weren't in walking distance, we could get there via uber for less than $7. Also, very friendly and helpful staff.

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was. The staff was exceptional and very responsive to our requests. The complimentary breakfasts were outstanding. The water pressure in the shower was unbelievable. The only downsides were the swimming pool and paying for parking. The pool was very small and located poorly. I've never paid for parking at a hotel before. We found this a bit odd considering how much we paid for the room.

Loved that we could walk to everything. Dinner, sites, entertainment.

The staff was VERY helpful and curtious at check-in and at breakfast. The room was very clean but you could tell it needs a remodel and better maintenance. The gym is an absolute joke! They have a room with no ventilation, no free space to even sit or stretch and all machines are broken or very worn. This hotel is perfect for staging a Universal trip but at the price of the stay I would expect more from the condition of the hotel. The nice staff and very friendly ladies at breakfast make this a 4-star up from the deserving 3-star it should receive.
