Stayed at the Shore Hotel in 2 rooms: Oceanview King and a "garden" view double for the kids. Your cookie-cutter run of the mill rooms without any frills - paper coffee cups and plastic glasses for your beverages! Nice lobby where we were served welcome drink (in plastic glasses) that consisted of sparkling wine for adults and apple cider for the children. We needed to be near the pier and thus this hotel which was adequate for one night stay to attend the Thai Festival on the Santa Monica pier. Basically awesome location and great views if you get oceanview room. Pleasant staff especially Mr. Adriano the Concierge. The 2 front elevators were inoperable during our first evening/night - had to go to the back building (garden wing) to take their elevator, and then backtrack to the front - but we survived as they were working the next morning. Daily weekend valet parking rate is $30/night ai without in/out privileges - this is a great deal for this area. For the right rate, I'd stay again when in town. But if luxury and room amenities matter to you, I'd look elsewhere.

What I loved about the property is the ocean view the entire staff, including the manager is very very welcoming. They make us feel like we’re at home. They also remembered us from a year ago. I just love this place.
