A cute little place right at the beach!!
I got woken up on my third night here by a call from the front desk accusing my dogs of barking "from 6am to 11pm the past two days." I didn't even check in until 11pm that first night and didn't wake up before 7am the next two days, so I don't know why the guy thought it was even possible for my dogs to be the ones responsible for barking. He also said you're not allowed to leave your pets in a room by themselves which makes no sense for a pet friendly hotel. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you're traveling with your pets.

The Bayside Hotel is a perfect place to stay in Santa Monica! It’s on the beach and is a 5 minute walk to the Santa Monica Pier and the main shopping district. The staff are very courteous and helpful and the rooms are very clean. It’s the only place we stay whenever we visit family in Santa Monica!
ocean view was very nice; proximity to pier and downtown santa monica also a plus. good value for location and beach access.
The location is perfect. You can see the beach from our room. The rooms are nice and clean. I did step on a tiny piece of glass the first night in the kitchen so that was a bit of a bummer. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I like that I had the option to pay for parking in the back or use the meters out front. I only paid for parking one night. We were gone the other two days while the meters were in effect so it worked out nicely.

Don’t stay here if you have a car! There was no parking available and I had to drive around for over an hour to try to find a parking meter spot that I had to pay for and then go out on the morning and pay again for - and it was a half mile away. There is nothing in the description that indicates this (only that you have to pay for parking). I understand there is limited parking in the area but when I reserved the place it gave no indication that there would be no parking for me unless I reserved way in advance and in addition to the room. As well, the photos make the hotel look way nicer than it actually is. There was loud music and yelling in the room under us until late in the night. The only thing decent about the place is the location.

I’ve stayed here on and off for over a month. The staff is so friendly from the front desk to cleaning staff. Clean property and across the street from the ocean.....can’t beat it for the price!!!
