I was here all week for work and I couldn’t have been more happy and pleased with the accommodations. The room was adorable and so comfortable. The services was delightful and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was so good. Location was great. I can’t wait to come back again and stay here.
I stayed at The Dixon for close to 40 days straight so I think I can give a fair overview of the hotel. In general the hotel is nice and clear, it has a mixture of modern and vintage design considering it is an old court house (this also accounts for its winding corridors and many doorways). The room I had was on the smaller side - it had a closet space but no cabinets to put folder clothes in. The bathroom was large and comfortable and the hotel provided lovely bathrobes available for purchase as well. There was no fridge (mini bar only with no space to add anything personal), there are no desks in the room either but I found that was not an issue as there is a small eating table from where you can work if needed. Towels, hair dryer with diffuser, slippers, ironing board, and umbrella are all available in your room. I ordered room service almost every night from their restaurant (Provisionsers) - if you are vegan the options are limited, otherwise there was a great selection which varies each month. During my stay I received a few packages which were put in my room - the delivery went smoothly and I was appreciative of their notifying me once it was delivered. The only issues I faced daily were with housekeeping. During the first week of my stay I drank from several bottles of water, made tea and utilized their tea cups, and ordered food. Each night that week I had the bottles and tea mugs/and tea bags replaced, and the food tray removed. For the remaining four weeks I was in the hotel - the mugs were never replaced, the glass cups I used as tea cup alternatives were used and also not replaced, the trays were not taken away, and on one occasion the rags used for cleaning were left in the bathroom. I requested a full cleaning service one evening using the app/chat function and specifically asked these be replaced - they were not. If this was a short stay it would perhaps have gone unnoticed but given I was there so long it was hard to ignore. It was also odd considering the tea bags were replaced but not the mugs? Why were the food trays not always removed? I am not sure how to explain this but it became a "thing". That being said - the hotel is clean, front desk and room service is attentive, cleaning is overall fine but an overlook on attention to details from the housecleaning team. I do recommend the hotel it is close to the London Bridge underground, drop on drop off bus, and the Tower Bridge.
Stayed at the Dixon twice while on business trip. Service staff was very attentive (from front desk to the restaurant) and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. Rooms are of good size and tastefully furnished, and breakfast spread was very decent. Thank you team for this "home away from home" experience!
I recently spent 4 nights at this courthouse turned hotel now under Marriott Bonvoy. The location of the hotel is superb only minutes from the London bridge. From outside it has a fairly sophisticated and stately appearance. Inside is very well maintained as well. The two young ladies who used to be at the front desk for long hours are very efficient and friendly. So is Marco the concierge person. House keeping every day was top class. The staff who came to my room to deliver tea bags etc as I needed extra were all very polite. I got an upgrade as I have completed several years as Marriott Platinum Elite and the suite 317 was beautiful. Showers are probably the best I have seen. The bathroom door has a major design flaw though and my wife injured her finger severely. All in all a great accommodation. I never ate there as I always ate out checking out various restaurants and cuisines in the great city of London Chandan Chakrabarti Orlando Florida
Sometimes you can measure a place by how it reacts when things aren't quite right. This place goes above and beyond. This is a beautiful hotel, no question. The location is equally impressive, being less than a minute from Tower Bridge and ten minutes walk from The Shard. We had a specific requirement for our visit (made at the time of booking over 4 weeks prior) that unfortunately wasn't met. We had to stand our ground to get what we required and in fairness to the duty manager we did get it. The duty manager could not have been more helpful getting resolution and went out of our way to make sure everything else was perfect. We'll definitely stay here again.
We loved everything about this hotel, the unbeatable location, the concept and design, room, courtroom bar, coffee bar, breakfast but most of all the staff. NOTHING is too much trouble for the staff plus I get a call after checkout from Marco on reception informing me I’d left behind in lobby my handbag containing cash jewellery, valuables credit cards and senior railcard. I was almost at Euston so arranged a pick up by a family member plus the receptionist Melania (?) under supervision scanned my senior railcard to me by email. Thus avoiding me having to purchase a return railway ticket at great expense. I couldn’t thank all the reception staff enough for facilitating this for me. Also the waiter in coffee bar from Majorca so very pleasant and helpful. Thank you all of you you were Marvellous. We will return.
Lovely hotel with amazing staff. On the Southside of the river below tower bridge. Walking distance to London Bridge and the Thames path. Rooms lovely, beds comfy, Provisioners great. Only slight negative they dont recycle which I feel is a bit backwards.
I have been staying at The Dixon hotel for the last 7 nights. Tonight is my last night. It hasn’t been an enjoyable experience. On my first morning, house keeping knocked and told me they needed to check the mini bar and I asked them to come back later and they said again “no, I need to check the mini bar”- I was still in bed. How uncomfortable. I had to tell them to leave me alone so I could rest. Our complimentary water was NEVER replenished after our first day. The coffee capsules were replaced every day, but only with decaf coffee capsules compared to our first day when we had a mixture of both. There was a sign in the bathroom quoting “hand your towel, not the planet” explaining that if towels were hung up, they would not be taken and fresh ones given. Every single day, we hung our towels up, every single day they have us fresh towels.... WHAT?! On our first night we had to phone down to ask for 2 more pillows as our bed was only dressed with a pillow each. They’re rationing their pillows?? The mattress was so firm, I don’t think I ever had a decent nights sleep. We ate breakfast on our first morning only as our “hot” breakfast was just about tepid, service was unfriendly and restaurant was messy. I would never, ever recommend this hotel. You would receive better service and housekeeping in a Premier Inn. This is not the standard of hospitality I expect from a relatively expensive “boutique” hotel in this area of London. Very disappointing.
This was my first stay in this hotel. On the map it looks a little distant but it is only about 10 minutes walk from London Bridge station and a little shorter to and from More London. The hotel is very new and furnished in a very tasteful manner (dark wood combined with modern features like bright colours). We got (as requested!) a quiet room, which was facing London Bridge – fantastic. I travelled with family on a special occasion and the hotel made sure they acknowledge the purpose of the trip adequately. No fussing about a late check out and a truly distinctive breakfast (my advice: try the self-made joghurt, it is a dream) rounded of a pleasant stay. I will surely be back.
Ridiculously overpriced drinks - we were even charged over £5 for a little dish of peanuts. Twice the price of some far better alternatives within a few minutes walk :( Popped in for a drink after work and found the courtroom bar utterly soul - less and - well, like a courtroom
