The Bridge Hotel London3.0 out of 5.0

I have stayed at this hotel over a number of years and could not recommend it more highly. It is sited very conveniently half a mile from Borough (Northern line / Euston) and Southwark (Jubilee line / O2 Arena) tube stations, and 5 mins walk from a most excellent full English breakfast at Terrys Café, and about 20 mins from the Breakfast Club. A Tesco or Sainsburys are en route. The rooms are small (if booking a double en suite ask for room 13, which is bigger than the others) and of differing shapes and sizes, but all are clean with welcoming décor and the en suites boast an invigorating power shower. Typical amenities, coffee tea and kettle, fridge, fruit and bottled water. Also free, 50+mbps! wifi. What sets the hotel apart are the proprietors, who could not do enough for you and will go far out of your way to ensure your stay is the best it can be. I left my towel behind and they spent an hour searching their laundry for it; it was eventually found and they are going to mail it to me.
We came to this hotel on march 2017.reception was warm and welcoming.price was very good for the place close to the centre on London.room was clean and tidy.we had 2 types room was share bathroom but inside was clean I cannot believe it was share bathroom.other room was En-suite double good mattress and clean room.i leave the hotel very satisfied and happy.we 100%coming back next time.
Tired decor, low frills, no phones in room, no breakfast (but there were apples and oranges and water left in the room). The carpet in the reception area did not appear to have been vacuumed over the days we were there. Waste paper basket in bathroom was full upon arrival and not emptied in three days (despite a request by us on the first night). Bed linens clean. Sinks and toilets were cleaned, but sinks so small you could not lean over to wash your face. Floor area around baseboards and lower parts of bathroom doors were very dirty. The door to our room did not close snuggly against the door frames, in fact, there were visible gaps of several millimetres at the side and bottom. We believe this was the reason that cigarette smoke wafted into our room from guests above us, and who came downstairs to smoke in the bathroom across the hallway from us. We had to open a window to clear the air in our room, but then the street noise was another matter to deal with. In one of our showers, there was a disposable razor (used by another guest) left on the floor of the shower for much of the day. This could have presented a danger for small children. The staff in general were pleasant and helpful. I would suggest that the information in the brochure needs updating to reflect the current state of the premises and amenities/services (i.e., There is no breakfast provided on site. There is no longer a Bridge Cafe, adjacent, it is now a Lebanese restaurant. No phones in the room). The rooms we stayed looked nothing like the photos posted on this site, nor in their brochure which we picked up in their lobby. Though the location is good, for reasons listed above, we would not return.
We stayed here on a family trip and really liked it! We had a family room, it was a bit of a hike to get up to it but the room was very nice. Shared bathroom facilities could be a problem for some people. We had an issue with the radiator in the room but the manager fixed it quickly. If you're a family travelling on a budget this is a good option!
This hotel is located in a good, not noisy, location and near numerous bus routes and two underground stations, just south of the River Thames. The reception staff are exceptionally efficient and the ensuite rooms are very clean and comfortable. Rooms are usually available at very reasonable rates compared to the rest of London. A real great value find.
First impression was how tired and grubby this place is, nothing like the photos. I was taken in by some of the reviews I read, thinking that although there is room to improve, overall it would be OK. I was wrong, it really is unclean, badly in need of redecorating, new bathrooms and new carpets throughout. The photographs do not provide a realistic account. Given the location, investment in some basic improvements would Improve the ratings considerably and thus family run business could be lucrative for many years to come. Allowing it to deteriorate further will be such a shame!
What a great place to have as a base of operations for exploring. Rooms are clean and comfortable, reasonably priced, and the staff fantastic. It is a quirky little place and it is obvious that they really want their guests to be satisfied. The only critique I would have is that the soap they provide is a bit tiny, which makes it awkward for washing up for those of us with butter fingers, but I am sure if I had called for more they would have brought it so that is on me. Great place, will definitely stay here again when next in London.
i have been staying at Bridge Hotel since more than 10 years. I visit london thrice a year for business. the service is excellent with a genuine smile everytime. the breakfast is supervised by the owners themself so it is a personal touch there also. the takeaway (good price) besides takes care of the dinner and lunch at times. the price of the rooms are very moderate compared to other hotels in the vicinity. the rooms are clean and modest fitting my business requirement of attending meetings and come to a clean bed with attached bathroom every evening. It is also close to Elephant and Castel tube station and easily connects me centrally and also when I want to come in from heathrow. The amenities have improved over the years with 24 hour hot water, linen change, telephone in the rooms, cleanliness. they give 10 per cent discount on the next trip. in my last trip, the breakfast room was being done up.. so they arranged breakfast outside. but when it is done, the breakfast room will be engaged once again.
If you wanna experience one of the bests and terrific London hotel you need to go to the bridge hotel. Every thing is perfect since the first moment you move to the premisses. Excellent service and excellent staff.
First off, the room was all the way at the top and there is no elevator, so we dragged all our bags up there winding staircase only to find that we had to share a bathroom with the rest of the floor. Um. No. There wasn't even a shower on our floor. It was just a dingy single toilet that was half a staircase down from our floor and has an awkward extra step that I missed in the night. My ankle was swollen and made for a crappy next few days. The room itself was too small for 4 beds and the window faces the street so we got to hear every emergency in central London all night long. Yay. The room was clean, at least, and in a decent location. If you're breezing in for one night it's probably fine, but I won't be staying here again.
