Five star hotel. Member of Leading Hotels of the World ( BTW try the Leaders Club; lots of goodies that come with membership). A modern way of five star. All the comfort and style but a little more relaxed. Very nice hotel bar ( crowded but nice) and the lovely restaurant Indigo. Situated next to Covent Garden with most of West End within walking distance. A wise choice for a stay in London
Our eigth stay in three years .That speaks for itself. Its ambience , the staff ,its centrality for London's Attractions, especially the theatres and galleries make it the perfect place to stay. However, you pay for that. It's not cheap, but it is quality.
We stayed for, gasp, six nights here and, gasp, loved every second of it. In London for the Harry Potter plays, museums, dinners. One Aldwych had a great location, and just amazing service from the front desk to the doormen to the concierges to Indigo restaurant to the lobby bar to Roberto, bartender extraordinaire! Special nods to Greta and Diana in the lobby bar. Everybody was sweet and efficient and friendly: How as your day? What did you do? How was the play? Just a charming, charming place. Not inexpensive but we would stay again in a London minute.
We loved everything about our stay, which was over the London Marathon weekend. I was running the Marathon for the first time so wanted to find somewhere within easy walking distance. Having re-learned to swim in the pool 7 years before it was a joy to come back to No 1 with another challenge in mind. The staff were super attentive, from check-in to the guests' lounge to breakfast which literally arrived 5 minutes after we ordered it, to the team in the Spa who helped my with my recovery process from an exhausting physical endeavour. And not to mention the personal touch of a small chocolate cake presented to me in the Lounge to congratulate me for the marathon run. We did try to see if there was something that the hotel would not be able to have an answer for, and only found that on our last morning when searching for a forgotten MacBook charger. The front desk only had a PC charger so when I spoke later to Rui he informed me that they were having another look at their provision of IT equipment and chargers. What is so great about this hotel is that despite being such a busy location, the rooms are incredibly quiet and the beds are really comfortable with the best pillows that I've come across in London hotels. Will definitely be returning.
Have stayed a number of times before and have enjoyed. However although the service and standard of the hotel was still 1st class, I was very disappointed to be asked not to sit in the main lobby / bar area on the
From the moment the front door was opened upon our arrival, we were treated like royalty. Early check-in was a treat after a long overnight flight. The chocolate cake sent up to our room. The pleasant smiles. The great touring tips. The slippers left out at night. The friendly chat at the bar. The travel bag in our room the night before departure. The attention to detail is amazing and much appreciated. Perfect location to see the sites and the shows.
Very comfortable. Great service. Great gym. Excellent location. When I visit London I love going to the theater, this location is perfect for that as well as close to the tube and Covent Gardens. One of my favorite hotels in London.
This hotel has a great location and everything about it was fantastic. It is all the extra little things this hotel does that makes it so special and it’s consistently high level of service by every staff member.
The One Aldwych is my home away from home in London. It's in the heart of Covent Garden and adjacent to the Novello Theater. I began staying here, due to its extremely close proximity to London Fashion Week (under a 5 minute walk) and now stay here for all my visits. The staff really goes above and beyond, to cater to my needs. I often have deliveries and documents, which arrive before I do, and the Concierge is always on top of my correspondence and packages. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the beds have the softest sheets -- I so enjoy every moment of sleep and relaxation that I can fit into my schedule. There are lovely macaroons and a handwritten note of welcome -- one of the many personal touches that I have encountered each stay. The desks have a B&O bluetooth speaker that has such great sound, it's inspired me to buy my own at home. The in-room safe is in a peculiar place -- behind one of the framed paintings. I laughed when I discovered it! When it rains, the staff at the front door have umbrellas prepared for you. Breakfast on the Mezzanine floor in Indigo is freshly prepared and my favorite is the eggs benedict -- room service is just as fabulous. Their Lobby Bar is quite full on almost all evenings, with an eclectic mix of business personalities, fashionable people, with a relaxing atmosphere and energy. They even have "showtime cocktails" that you can enjoy with a virtual reality headset, and the Afternoon Tea has a delightfully crafted assortment of cotton candy (the British call it "candy floss", petite sandwiches, and handmade chocolates. Eneko, the award-winning restaurant, which is adjacent to the One Aldwych) has been featured on Masterchef (Chef Eneko Atxa), and is so unique in its presentation and distinctive Basque palate of unusual flavor combinations. One hidden gem about One Aldwych, is the indoor swimming pool! There's also a sauna, steam room, gym and cinema. I didn't have a lot of time to enjoy the Spa as much as I wanted to, but I did manage to get in a Glow on the Go Facial. I'm so pleased to have found this gem in the heart of London!
Hi there, I took my daughter for a treat as she has been revising for her GCSEs. If I am honest Premier Inn felt it took my care f the interiors. The room felt full of cheap furniture at £400 per night felt as my daughter said,
