The One Aldwych is an excellent hotel and is one of my favourites which we return to whenever possible. Professional staff do everything they can to help without being invasive. Location is ideal for theatres and Covent Garden.
Enjoyed a last minute one night stay here whilst visiting theatre-land. Lovely hotel, attentive staff, lovely room with a view over Aldwych. Great facilities and amenities and a very large comfy bed! Would recommend and definitely visit again.
Our family of four had an amazing stay The pool and sauna were the perfect afternoon relaxation after the great adventures the concierges helped us plan. The location is great and the staff were wonderful. Our suite was perfect for 2 kids and 2 adults and made a great home base for our stay in London. . Thanks for great memories !! Especially on my daughters 16th birthday !
We were treated to a night here as a thank you. It is sited in the heart of theatre land next to Covent Garden. The staff are wonderfully attentive ( possibly too attentive) the cocktails are great fun and enhance the experience. It isn’t cheap but is a really wonderful treat. If the breakfast isn’t included prepare for a shock. They are delicious but hugely overpriced. Go. Enjoy. But stay two nights.
Let me start by saying this hotel has a wonderful staff from management down to everyone else. They all aim to please and for the most part, all do their jobs well. One thing that that this hotel has that many in London do not is a fantastic location. It is right at Covent Garden with all the theaters nearby and Covent Garden shopping. Within easy walking distance is the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, the Churchill War Rooms, the British Museum, Regents Park, Hyde Park and the War Museum, plus a ton of quality restaurants. The room was wonderful except for the bathroom and the curtain design. The bathroom needs serious renovation and according to the staff, that's coming soon. The problem is two-fold. The tub is deep and you need to use it to shower. There is no curtain, just a moving glass screen at the shower end of the tub, and that screen leaks water on to the floor. It makes for a dangerous situation, especially if you're not a 6 footer (1.8m) because of the depth of the tub and the difficulty of getting in and out. I do have an issue that most hotel rooms across the world don't have a place for 2 suitcases and a couple of smaller bags to be off the floor and opened and this hotel is no exception. As to the curtain design, when we arrived in the room in the evening, the one side of the curtain was pulled across the other and held there by pillows propped against it on the floor, but there by housekeeping. When we looked further it was clear that you couldn't draw the curtains tightly against each other to keep out light from shining through early in the morning without following housekeeping's lead. We found the breakfast in the dining area had a long way to go before I would consider it good. The afternoon tea was great. I think the food will get better for breakfast as the staff listened to complaints and we have no doubt they intend to improve. If the bathroom and rooms are updated and the issues fixed as promised, and the breakfast improved (That should be easy.) I wouldn't hesitate to return next year.
Great service, super friendly staff. The rooms are gorgeous. Great tea service, The location is very convenient for my company, but also for tourist attractions and theatre enthusiasts. Outstanding service
We love this hotel!! Everything is first class. Everywhere is spotless, food is very good and the location is so convenient. What stands out is the staff - extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. We appreciated the champagne for our 10th visit. Thank you. We will be back.
Have stay here a couple of times in the past, always amazing service. Staff friendly and Helpful. Convenient for London generally, restaurant excellent and good choice, rooms tidy and clean. Had no problems with my stays
We went here for themed afternoon tea of Charlie and the chocolate factory. Definitely recommend. Hotel was beautiful, service was great and the afternoon tea was a great twist on the show. We’re also a few mums with their young daughters off to see the show after.
I have stayed in many hotels in London over the past 30 years, but for almost a decade I consistently return to the One Aldwych. The hotel is lovely and the rooms are outstanding, but beyond this is the level of personalized attention the staff provides. They regularly checked on us, both prior to arrival and throughout our stay, to make sure all of our needs are met. It is a level of concierge that is second to none. I travel around the world on business and I am accustomed to staying in luxury hotel properties, but by far the experience I look forward to the most is staying at the One Aldwych.
