Everything was good in the hotel, cleanliness, room, internet, staff, the breakfast was very good! It is located inside a business buildings so all the coffee shops and restaurants the weekends are closed.

We had a big, nice room on the first floor. The bed was comfortable and the room was well spaced out. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. Our only complaint was that the a/c was weak. We left it on full blast all day and it was never cold in the room. The hotel staff were excellent and even let us into our room at noon. We were expecting to leave our bags but our room was ready and they checked us right in. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the paddington tube stop. We only had carry ons so it was pretty easy. If we would have had a larger bags the walk would have been harder. The Mercure and Hilton were immediately outside the tube stop.

Very convenient to Paddington Station and quiet!!! Modern hotel with all amenities. Wi-Fi signal was very strong. Close to several restaraunts/bars. My window looked directly into the floor to ceiling windows in the office building right next to me. I have to assume that they are able to look directly into the hotel windows as well. Not ideal.

Awful bed after long flight to UK. Shower impossible to fit 6'3, 200lb man. I would recommend this hotel for small people who like hard beds.

The location is great - very central. However, I paid a lot of money for not much. Very small room with very basic decor, tiny bathroom. Staff was nice.

Nice Hotel... Clean and large rooms. Wifi isn't that reliable

My husband and I stayed here after 1.5 weeks in Europe and it was by far the best stay we had the entire trip. The staff was very friendly, welcoming & helpful. The restaurant & paid breakfast was delicious & the bar was a great place to unwind at the end of the night. It's located SO close to Paddington station we could get anywhere in a flash. Also nearby to a beautiful neighborhood great for walking/exploring. Highly recommend!

I was only there for one evening and night. Fairly close to Paddington Station, but if you have lots of luggage you might find the uphill walking/stairs a bit much. I only had one carry on and laptop bag. The hotel is very modern looking, and the check in staff were very friendly. I liked that they didn't put pressure to show a credit card -- they trusted me not to pillage the mini-bar's expensive contents (I would have to be desperate to do that!). They also gave me a high floor at my request. Lots of shopping and eating places close by, so I got a couple of bottles of water for my use rather than using the hotel bottles. Room was very comfortable, and I was able to adjust the temperature. Windows of the room looking out were a bit streaky, but perhaps because of the rain. Really liked that they had the toilet completely separate from the bathroom.

We booked this hotel for holiday over other hotels given its proximity of it to Hyde Park and Paddington Station. It's not that close to Paddington. If you walk it from the center of the station expect at least around 15 minutes, currently through a construction zone, on cobblestone, over a bridge, crossing a major st (with crosswalk) and walking to the end of a large business park with more cobblestone. Not fun with a heavy roller bag. Then we arrived at the hotel and I guess to me, it was just a hotel, nothing special about it at all. They did give us early check in and a nice room but again, everything was just average. Also, it looked directly into the offices across the way so expect to keep the drapes closed the whole time or feel like a goldfish in a bowl for all the people in the office. The toilet was separate from the shower and bath which seems nice but the door was not much of a door, anyone in the room can hear any noises from the bathroom very clearly. The TV is this overly complicated TV offering pay per view, internet access (paid) and tv. Just to watch BBC 1 it was a minimum of 5 button presses once the tv was on, not a big deal, just annoying. Want to go to the pool, sauna, steam room or fitness center, you have to go to the front desk and complete a waiver and collect a pool key and once done you are supposed to turn the key in. Again, not a huge deal just annoying. Overall the hotel seems great for business travellers, clean, away from the madness, quiet but not great for couples on holiday, its too far away from the train station to be convenient and too far away from downtown London to be a home base.

Convenient location close to Paddington. Room was nice - lots of room for a little one to play.

The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and cooperative. It is very close to the train station but not too much of "London" close by. I would stay here again!

stayed here on last night of London trip with wife because its across the street from Paddington station (had early flight from Heathrow next morning)..Modern, clean hotel. Nice staff at check in. Only negative was the charge at check in (i guess a resort fee) when the room was fully pre-paid/nonrefundable on Orbitz. Got to hotel at midnight, and woke up at 5 am and left for trian station, so whatever the undisclosed charge went toward, I never found out. I would recommend it if i could warn others about the fee.

We booked this hotel from the states on the internet about a month and a half from our travel date. We got there about 7 PM and checked in. Our room turned out to be a handicapped room. The shower was a roll in shower filled with equipment, and there was no tub. There were also no toiletries etc. When we asked, we were told that this was the last available room at the rate we booked and that rooms are basically first come first serve when booked on the internet. We were offered another room at 15 pounds more a night which included "all the tourist stuff" which we did take. The staff were nice about it but it seemed a bit cheap on the part of the hotel to make us take a room that we obviously would not have booked had we known what we were getting when there were others available. The new room was only different from the other in that it was on a higher floor and was minus the handicapped aspect. Breakfast was not included in the first rate we booked or the higher rate we paid. We were also charged for the water from the fridge we used although there was a tag on the water that said it was complimentary. We chose this hotel for the pool, sauna, and proximity to Paddington Station. It was close to Paddington-few blocks walk out of the back of the station, along a canal and into a business park type area. I found the pool to be too chilly, but the steam room and sauna were ok if small. There was a fire alarm while we were there one night. The staff handled it well, and provided blankets and coffee/tea for the guests. I wouldn't stay here again because of the room situation and the cold pool.

The hotel was extremely convenient to Paddington train station, food, shopping, etc. We were very pleased with how the hotel was located near everything yet separated enough to enjoy some sense of seclusion. The hotel does offer a breakfast for 15 pounds. The breakfast is nice enough, but multiple less expensive options are a very short walk (or ride) from the hotel. Don't forget your power converters, don't purchase "show tickets" from the hotel (again cheaper options available a short walk away) and be aware that food choices become extremely limited after 9. Be advised, the hotels in London (they advised) do not offer washcloths. So bring your own ladies if this is your preference (as was my wifes). Nicely appointed room, decent space (for a European hotel) and friendly staff. I would recommend to a friend.

Stayed one night on business. Hotel was clean and room was spacious, especially for London. I upgraded to an executive room. My only negatives were the check in people seemed to have a lot of problems getting me checked in and out. It took about fifteen minutes and she needed assistance. I asked if there was a problem since it was pre paid but she uttered something i didn't understand. I am somewhat hearing impaired and asked her three times to please speak up a bit but she talked in a very soft and fast voice which made it just impossible to hear her. Once I got settled in my room I wanted to access the WiFi but it required a password. I called downstairs and the person who answered again spoke so fast and soft there was no way I could understand her. They did not offer to send the password up to my room so I had to get dressed and go down stairs and get it. I ordered room service rather late and it came promptly and the person was quite helpful and cheery. No hair dryer, I thought that was odd.

Hotel was very nice. I chose it because of convenient access to Paddington Station. The hotel is a bit far from some of the main sights in London, so if all you're doing is sightseeing you might want to choose something closer to the center of the city. However, if you're there for a short stay and want convenient access to both trains (if you're taking the train to and from Heathrow, for example) and all the fine things London has to offer, I would recommend this place.

Visit with family and friends, some sightseeing. Hotel was efficient, clean and the staff very helpful and pleasant.

The Novotel Paddington is the essence of what I expect from an economy hotel in the States. It's generic and forgettable, boring decor, dingy linens and up-to-date, if unspectacular, bathroom. But it's comfortable enough. Common areas are open. Internet signal is slow and sporadic, but inexpensive. The really big selling point is the location. It is literally two blocks from Paddington Station, where you can connect to the subway to other parts of London and National Rail trains to other parts of Britain and is the stop for express trains to and from Heathrow.

If you are coming into Paddington station, this hotel is very close by, but YOU have to Schlep your heavy luggage a couple of hundred yards up and down stairs and ramps to get out of the terminal to the hotel. Be nice if the hotel would have a golf cart or such to transport people to and from the back of TRACK 8 at Paddington to the hotel, that was a royal pain. The only other negative was that the hotel didnt have a working ice machine on ANY floor so that you had to go down to the bar to get any ice. Overall, nice place, brand new, fairly nice hotel staff, and nice clean modern area in an office park, right next to Paddington Station.

We were very disappointed in our [...] Novotel Paddington experience. [...]the hotel is in a lousy location. It is in an isolated office park 5-7 minutes walk over cobblestones from Paddington station (not great for roller bags). With few people around, it is easy to feel unsafe. The hotel itself is nice and modern, but with little character. Saw a bunch of other hotels in the area that we thought were in better location and provided a better cost/benefit to the Novotel.
