A very well located tourist class hotel that is a block and half to the train/subway station. Old fashioned but clean, very nice staff and good wifi. Plenty of independent restaurants near by and that adds to the experience of staying here. It’s not the Four Seasons but it’s value priced hotel for someone who wants to spend the day exploring London.

Very adequate for the price and proximity to Paddington

Great location. Clean, nice stuff. Small room no variation at breakfast

This ws our first trip to the UK so I do not have any other visit to compare this one to. Definitely not like any place that I have stayed in the US at the same price range.

Location is excellent, close to hop-on/hop-off bus stop and dining. Included breakfast was very good. Rooms are small and the beds could be better.

a beautiful property on a green nice and safe street. Large windows easy to open to get fresh air, which makes it very noisy

Very no frills. Our toilet had to wait 5 minutes between flushes at least and was very hard to work. Bed sheets had a lot of black hair from previous occupant. Breakfast was filling and good.

This was a wonderful Hotel. One block from Paddington station. Also one block from Hyde Park. Parking right in front but the room were a bit small.

You get a lot for what you pay. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Hotel staff is a powerhouse good excellent jobs espicially the two power ladies in the morning very friendly staff plus hotel is close to our needs , ransfortations, restaurants , underground trains it’s everything you needs is in there ..

Front desk staff was decent enough so I hated to give a poor score to staff, but I had to because on our second day there one of the cleaning staff was loudly and angrily griping to another about how overworked they are. She was quite upset and making it known. The rooms were adequate but the stairway had a strong cigarette odor. Rooms were “quaint”. Clean and well-kept, but a little rustic for my taste. Had to flush the toilet multiple times to get it to work, due to very weak water pressure. No air conditioning. WiFi worked pretty well. The breakfast was very decent. Location was great. Very easy walk to Paddington Station, and lots of stores and restaurants nearby. For this reason alone, I would stay there again if I return to London. Just be aware that the rooms aren’t large and they are a bit old, in terms of carpeting and decor. If you want a quaint European experience though, this may actually appeal to you. Overall, not bad; just not excellent either. Did I mention a great location if you want easy access to Paddington?

It wasn’t bad, just very mediocre. The location was actually very good, within easy walking distance to Paddington Station, and there were lots of (cheaper) restaurants and souvenir shops nearby. Safe and clean neighborhood. The biggest issue we had was that the toilets did not work well. They flushed maybe thirty-three percent of the time, requiring you to flush repeatedly in order to get it to work. The complimentary breakfast was very nice. WiFi was adequate, and some of the rooms have a USB charger built in to the wall. Rooms felt and smelled ever-so-slightly dingy just due to their age, but were well-kept and as clean as possible. Staff wasn’t overly friendly, but they were not rude either. Although I did hear one of the women who clean the rooms loudly complaining to someone about being given too much work to keep up with. She was clearly frustrated to the point of anger, and was being quite verbal in the hallway about it, with no regard for our presence. There’s no air conditioning (but that describes most of the hotels in Europe.) I would actually stay there again, if only for the location. Despite some complaints, none were bad enough to be deal-breakers for me. Overall the experience was really just a nice taste of Europe.

This hotel is comfortable and conveniently located.

Centrally located hotel offering competitive pricing for its location. However, the quality of the product offered was disappointing. Would not stay again.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for mentioning the nice staff and great location. You only realise the value of a good location once you have been stuck out in the sticks which is becoming more common these days. Our breakfast includes :cornflakes, porridge, muesli, eggs, boiled, fried, scrambled or poached, toast, orange juice and unlimited tea, coffee and toast.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your review which praises the architectural splendour of our property. Windows that open are getting rarer in these days of sanitized, health and safety obsessed nanny states.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your comments which has left us bemused. We have had no reports of your claims and we are staggered that you could have stayed in a room with "previous occupant's hair"on the bed sheets without letting us know. Bed sheets are changed every time a guest checks out and every three days for long stays.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your positive review. I guess 4 out of 5 is as good as 8 out of 10 and 80% is, in old money a pretty good score.
