I have stayed here numerous times with work as there is a reduced corporate rate. I always think a good indication of a hotel is if I would be willing to spend my money to stay. In this case I would not, it's a great location and clear the staff are all well trained. I always get greeted with a bottle of water and towel after I go for a run/jog. However the rest of the hotel leaves a lot to be desired, the rooms are small, the gym may as well not be there (its tiny and has little equipment), the breakfast is average and expensive at that. Overall I wouldn't stay in this hotel personally as I think there is better at the price and have also stayed at the Hilton close by which was better in my view.
The hotel was very predictable for an intercontinental. It was Comfortable and spacious. The concierge was great and had wonderful recommendations. They were also able to to secure us some hard to find tickets to true Harry Potter Studio. The breakfast for the price was not that great. I would suggest eating elsewhere for breakfast.
The following email was both emailed to the InterContinenta Hotel Park Lane Manager following my stay and a copy sent via their official feedback site. Sadly no response was received at all, so I can only conclude that this is deemed acceptable by the hotel. Bottom line - do not stay if travelling with young children and require to check in at the promulgated check in time. ——————————- I, along with my husband and 18 month daughter have just returned from a weekend stay at ihg Park Lane. We had booked a suite with a cot and despite being told that check in was from 3pm, a suite was not available for us on arrival. Our schedule had been arranged around our young daughter having her nap on arrival and she was extremely upset (in the way only a toddler can be) at having to wait in the lounge area for 90mins for a room. As I’m sure you can appreciate it was extremely stressful for us to have our daughter howling in that environment and I’m sure it was not a pleasant experience for the other guests as well. Although in other circumstances the complimentary drink provided at the bar may have been a relaxing way to wait, on this occasion it did nothing to alleviate the stress. Particularly as unasked for olives were put down in front of our daughter who then immediately grabbed on and I had to physically remove it from her mouth before she choked. We did not get a suite until gone 1630 and then had to wait a further 30mins for a cot, by which time we had completely missed the window for our daughters nap, which then ruined our evening plans as we were unable to go out early evening as we has to advance our daughters bed time after calming her down. I would find this completely unacceptable in any hotel, but I certainly do not expect in from the Intercontinental Parl Lane. Although the front of house staff tried to make amends with the complimentary drink and additional biscuits and chocolates in the room, this fell far short in comparison to the stress of such a long delay to reviving the room with a tired and fractious toddler.
This is a special hotel where staff treat everyone wonderfully, with a terrific welcome in all areas of the hotel. The afternoon tea was the best I have had yet, with great advice from the waiter/chef about the order in which to eat the delightful eats: The sandwiches are all made on different breads to compliment to filling and the cakes are presented fabulously. Theo Randall's restaurant was a great experience too. Room on the 8th floor with balcony really topped of a terrific weekend. Well done IHG.
Everything here was great, as you would expect of any Intercontinental hotels. Checking in experience is enjoyable, the team is very friendly, and also the lounge staff are also excellent. Lounge food selection is indeed selected but of decent quality. The bellmen team are also super. Minus one star for housekeeping and the concierge desk. Quality can be improved. Both of them are only 4 star quality. I happened to enter my room mid cleaning and I could see how my belongings are being put in places they should not be, even on the floor. And for concierge desk - not very professional. For some reasons the rep I saw had issues with acknowledging my presence even though I was standing there for a while. Being polite and waiting for him to finish whatever he was doing. For that wait, even the interaction was less than perfect. Both times upon checking in and out they had issues with locating my luggages.
The hotel was very nice, it was one night stay. It is right in the middle of everything, Piccadilly Park. The room was more than fine with coffee station and N espresso capsules The staff were helpful, I asked for more bottles of water and a blanket as it was too cold for me. The breakfast idea was a bit new for me, you order from a menu although it is an open buffet concept for the cold cut , fruits and bread.
Nice hotel, nice room. My check-in was very effective, the doorman very professional. Basically all the staff of the front office was good and helpful. There’s no swimming pool which is surprising, but the location of the hotel is everything - Hyde Park, Oxford street, Buckingham palace... you have so much so close. Breakfast is the reason why I’m not giving 5/5, didn’t like it and the staff was a bit absent in my opinion, nothing major but it’s worth to be mentioned.
A stay at the Park Lane Intercontinental is always a pleasure. As a member of the IHG Ambassador programme I invariably use my weekend night free voucher to stay there. The location is great with Hyde and Green Parks on your doorstep, as are numerous great shops and museums. Rooms are well equipped with nice touches such as books on shelves to make you feel you are at home and not just in an impersonal hotel. There are now 2 great restaurants in the hotel so no need to pack a coat or have the inconvenience and cost of taxis when you go out. Staff are friendly and helpful. All in all a great place to stay.
We stayed here for 2 nights with our 1 year old. While we were quite impressed with the location, very central, directly across from Hyde Park and major tube stops the size of the room for 2 adults and child was disappointingly small. We traveled from the US so needed a crib and had large suitcases which barely fit in the room without climbing over each other or the bed to get to the other side. Bathroom was a shoe box as well and not much space to put anything or even turn around without hitting the wall in the shower. With all that said the service and staff were super friendly and helpful and very nice. They were always concerned with what you needed and tried to accommodate in the best way possible. I would just say if you're staying here with kids or family get a bigger suite...you'll definitely need the space.
Beautiful yet simple hotel sandwiched between Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace, this Intercontinental was a pleasant surprise after having stayed at a cramped Holiday Inn up near Oxford-Circus. Service was impeccable and the room, while on the smaller end, was elegant and tastefully decorated, like much of London during the Christmas season. Staff were incredibly well-trained and attentive. I'd highly recommend this hotel for travelers, whether it be for vacation or for work.
