I am a spire ambassador and used a combination of points and money for the stay which was father, son and grandson's 12th birthday. Peter the concierge was very helpful and Beatrice from housekeeping kept our room in great shape. Room was spotless, nice amenities and a bathtub with controls I could understand! Last night splurge for club access. Worth it and service was great by all involved.
Having stayed at many of the intercontinental hotels across the world this has to be the best one for me. The quality of service and presentation of absolutely everything is a league that should be carried out across the brand. The food at their in house restaurant Theo Randall was superb with the chef taking time to chat to most tables. The choice of their sheets and quality of the rooms was wonderful - I was here for business so didnt even get to full appreciate it. Its all the little details that make this hotel something fantastic from the detail of the shape of the cappuccino cup that differs from the other coffee cups to the choice of bedroom linen to the array of flowers that are in the entrance hall.
Excellent hotel situated in Mayfair. Very well situated in terms of distances to some key site-seeing locations like the Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, etc. Underground very close by. Also good restaurants around in the Shepherd Market which is just 5 mins walk from the hotel. The hotel itself meets the typical Intercontinental standards. Size of rooms is also good. Special mention would be the Breakfast. A buffet is complemented with a menu of some very interesting combinations. All in all a very good experience and would surely recommend.
Not much to say, everyone should try the Intercontinental hospitality. Its great, booked with great deal using IHG apps. Had BB, restaurant is stunning, great service, superb quality, reception with fresh flowers, massive bed, beautiful bathroom. They keep our luggage for couple of hours so we can visit Mayfair before our flight to Asia. Taxis available on the front of the hotels, quick, cheap trip to train station King regards
Having stayed previously and being fans of IHG Hotels, we knew exactly where we'd like to stay for our night prior to, and after our wedding. The Park Lane was the gateway to a most amazing day and we'd like to thank all the staff there for their help and service in helping make our day (we were married at the Roof Gardens in Kensington) unforgettable. On arrival, when the check-in staff realised it was for our wedding we were upgraded to an amazing room - while we enjoyed lunch and a drink in the beautiful bar area off of reception. As an aside, reception is clean, spacious and smells beautiful - what is the perfume used? We then went and had the afternoon in the spa. This spa is a hidden gem in London and even if you're not staying at the hotel, the pricing and superior service should be more than enough to get you to use it. Feeling utterly relaxed, we headed to our room thinking it'd be a deluxe room as an upgrade favour. We were blown away to find it was an executive suite with dining room, lounge, seperate bathroom and bedroom. From our window we could even look onto Marble Arch and see Park Lane corner. Amazing! Every single staff member has an attention to detail and a caring attitude and the service as you might expect at a hotel such as this was second to none. I simply cannot recommend a London hotel more highly and worthy of a stay at whether for a simple London shopping weekend, pampering trip or a special event such as ours.
Visited again in June for a weekend break. Booked access to the fabulous Club Lounge. Everything in the hotel is first class - decor, room, service, food, drink. The only slight thing, is that the air conditioning is pretty noisy in the rooms. We'll be back again next year!
We usually stay here once a year as a treat. We upgrade to use the club lounge which provides breakfast, afternoon tea and canapés and alcoholic beverages in the evening. The staff in the lounge deserve a lot of praise always on hand offering help and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is next to Hyde park and it is a short walk to the shops in the Piccadilly area. Thoroughly recommended.
Last time I went to London I stayed at the Ritz for about $1,500 pounds per night. That hotel was out dated, broken showers, dirty carpet, it's just old. This time we decided to stay at the intercontinental. Our stay was great and this is where I will always stay when visiting London. We paid 1/3 the price of the Ritz for a better, cleaner room and hotel. No complaints. We had booked 3 nights and we had flight delays so we could only stay 2 nights. The hotel was nice enough to refund us the 1 night we didn't stay even though we didn't ask and they absolutely didn't need to. That's great customer service. Can't wait to come back!!
I stayed here for one night, paying a reduced rate (about 100 pounds off the regular rate, which is way too high, in my opinion). The hotel is located on a busy intersection, but the sound insulation is very good. My first impression was of surprise. The entrance area is stark, and to use a toilet I was directed to walk through one the hotel's restaurants. That is bad design. Also, and though I assume the hotel conforms to code, the stairways (which I like to use for fitness reasons) are poorly marked. They are not lit up, and are rather discretely marked. I had to look hard to find them. The room itself was comfortable and spacious. It receives high marks for various amenities, including extra European plugs, and an expresso machine. The bathroom's plumbing was better than average for the UK (which is not saying a lot). Surprisingly, there was no toilet brush to be seen. And this is a self-styled luxury hotel! Do you like to leave skid marks behind for the cleaning staff? I certainly don't.
Stayed at the hotel for an awards night room was very comfortable and a good size check in was very quick and all staff had a can do attitude beverage and drink to a good standard and average price for London
