I had booked 2 night stay in a twin room. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately we didn't have hot water on our first morning but this was recitified once I had notified reception. One thing did annoy me. When one checks into hotels it is not uncommon to be asked to register a credit card and a small nominal transaction takes place, (I assume to check the card works) in case of any billable extras. We had paid for our room in advance and didn't require any extras. However, having checked out (and because i had pre paid) I later noticed on my credit card transactions an additional £9.61 charge against my card. I rang the hotel to ask why I had been charged and was told that it was a service fee which goes to the staff. On the basis I had no hot water on our first day and the fact that wasn't informed of the service fee I asked for it to refunded. I made my first request the day I checked out and was told I would be refunded immediately. One week later I still wasn't refunded so contacted the hotel again who said again they would immediately refund me. 24 hours later they still haven't. Guess who I will be ringing tomorrow.
