As with several other reviews it was a bit difficult to find the car park but found it on second circuit if the one way system. Hotel is perfectly located for sightseeing Greenwich or visiting O2. Grounds are lovely and a respite from the hustle and bustle of the day. Walked into reception and was warmly greeted and sorted out a room out as we were a bit early. Room was set in corner so had windows on two sides which was great given it was very hot the day we stayed and the room had no air conditioning. The booking was through Travelzoo and we had a complimentary bottle of wine and a welcome letter. A really nice touch and the wine was lovely. The room was well appointed and spacious and the bathroom was lovely and couldn't be faulted. Everything was perfect until we went for Dinner. We were told at reception that we could have an allowance against the a la carte menu and had to insist on this with the waiter. We ordered a bottle of white wine that didn't come until we had finished the starter. It was just below room temperature and not as good quality as the free red in the room. The food was good and options varied. We ordered dessert and had to wait so long I had to call over a waiter. To be fair the menu upgrade was waived but it was small comfort. Putting that behind us we went down for breakfast in the morning to be escorted to a table and then ignored for the next fifteen minutes until again I called over a waiter to bring coffee and tea that we had originally ordered and take our order. What was a lovely experience was spoiled by the restaurant both evening and breakfast. I wish we had gone for room only as there is such a wide range of places to eat and drink so close to the hotel.
The hotel is very good with all the facilities that you would expect. however it is its location in the middle of maritime Greenwich that makes it exceptional. We used it as a cheaper alternative to London with about a 30 minute commute to Trafalgar Square. We were pleasantly surprised by all that Greenwich had to offer and the hotel put us right in the middle of everything. Great value for money.
The staff here are very helpful and polite but don't be in a hurry at the bar. It took 6 mins to get a wine and a coke and 3 people were involved in executing this task. Other than that, it's an excellent location, very central to local attractions and a quick tube trip to London. Decor is very good and beds comfortable. Breakfast is ok. Worth a try .
We stayed over the weekend with our first visit to the United Kingdom . Nice staff with a great location in catching the boat cruises to London. Main issue was the fact our room was on the second floor and apparently right above a wedding on Saturday night. After a long day of walking around London, feeling extremely exhausted and a flight to catch early Sunday morning we were looking forward to get some rest. To our surprise it sounded like we were staying on top of a Miami night club. Laying in bed wondering when the maddnesss would end we called the front desk and shocked to learn they have a license to play until midnight and of course they did. A couple other things to add is they had a great breakfast and if you like air conditioning in your room they don't have it.
The hotel was fairly clean , and the room was bigger than I expected. Price was ok considered the great location. Bathroom doesn't have toothbrushes, but there are soaps and shampoos , Breakfast was nice too, Definitively I will return in my next trip
Stayed to access London for a one-day visit and were very pleasantly surprised by both Greenwich village and this hotel. Great staff, very welcoming. Great architecture - interesting place and decent sized room with full bathroom. No aircon, which we did not mind as it was a cool August London night, but might be stuffy if the weather was good as we could not open the window fully. Very quiet for such a central and busy location. Breakfast good value. Room well equipped and clean. Access to London via the DLR and Jubilee Line very fast and pleasant. Would recommend and would stay here again if in this area. I give it a 4 rather than 5 because of the air con question and I can see it needs a bit of doing-up - which is difficult in a listed building, but in the meantime compares very well with other similar price hotels. Great staff.
We were surprised at the standard of service offered by the staff which was excellent. The location of the hotel is great. So close to all the attractions in Greenwich and the beautiful Greenwich Park. The breakfast buffet style was one of the best we've experienced. The sausages in particular were very tasty and the range of food offered was very good.
This hotel is in a good location, the staff are helpful and it's only a 5 minute walk to the Cutty Sark. Fairly reasonably priced, but the rooms are well worn and could do with new clean carpets and curtains. Their isn't any double glassing, so their is quite a lot of noise at night especially if your facing the courtyard area.
We have stayed here on numerous occasions and had a really happy stay. Fantastic location, with charming staff. Greenwich has so many wonderful things to do, Cutty Sark is a must, the Queens House has wonderful artefacts and picture gallery, a walk in the park with the most stunning views of London. Can't wait to return.
This is the fifth time I've stayed and it continues to impress. The staff are welcoming, the rooms are well appointed, spotless and very comfortable,. The location is superb. The buffet breakfast is generous, catering to all tastes. You are within a short walk of the Cutty Sark, Greenwich Market, the Old Naval College, the Fan Museum, Queen's House, Maritime Museum and the Royal Observatory. There are good restaurants nearby as well.
