The hotel is a good choice for London: it is central in zone 1, close to the Pimlico underground, and in a safe area. Rooms are good enough for London standard, breakfast is satisfying and prices are honest. A particular positive mention for the staff.
The one thing that sets this typical smaller London hotell apart is the hospitality of the staff. Always friendly and helpful they create a relaxed and enjoyable stay. The modern, but on the small side, bathroom is an extra plus. Recommended!
I stayed at this hotel with my two children in a triple room with a en-suite bathroom (shower, small sink & loo). It's very near Pimlico tube station, but we walked from Victoria station which took about 10 minutes. The room was compact as you would expect for a budget hotel in central London, but more than adequate. The room was spotlessly clean and nicely furnished. It was at the back of the hotel and very quiet. The free wi-fi worked well. The staff were very helpful and happy to store our luggage after check-out until we returned later that afternoon. The continental breakfast, which was included in the price, was also a bit better than I would normally expect for a budget hotel. It included a very good range of breakfast cereals to choose from and some nice crumpets for toasting. I would definitely stay here again if looking for the same type of accommodation in the same sort of area.
The staff here was completely fantastic. Incredibly welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. They offered tips on local sights, provided a map and answered questions about tube and bus routes, and were also cheerful in greeting us coming back or wishing us a good day. Unfortunately the rooms themselves are pretty dated and fall to the "OK" level. They're serviceable, but the beds in particular are very hard, and the lack of central air means that even on cool days outside, the temperature in our room was stifling. The bathrooms were more recently remodeled and were pretty nice.
I had a very pleasant stay. I was upgraded to a triple room which was clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable and Magdalena at reception very professional. Breakfast was also good although there wasn't much choice.
Very clean and comfortable. Good quality beds. Good location very close to Victoria line Pimlico station and to bus stop. Hotel staff very thoughtful, pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast was elegant, catered to all tastes and generously so. Made our stay great. Happy to write this review.
I have stayed in quite a few converted townhouses in London over the years on my trips back to the UK from Australia and this has been the best located on a quiet street with the friendliest and most helpful staff. The rooms were very clean, the linen and towels fresh and white with a nicely laid out continental breakfast in the basement and free WiFi. I think this is an excellent choice for this type of hotel in this price range. All the historical townhouse hotels I have stayed in don't have lifts so you do need to be aware that when staying in this type of hotel the stairs are narrow and can have as many as 8 short flights of stairs that you need to be able to carry your luggage up. Although the manager very kindly was available to assist me when I arrived which was a huge help.
There are hundreds of B&Bs and hotels in London, so picking one is a challenge. We were fortunate to decide on the Blades Hotel in the Victoria district. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet (we were at the back, away from the street) and Anto made us feel very much at home. She was knowledgeable about the area, extremely helpful, and pleasant. The hotel is well situated within easy walking distance of Pimlico Station, the Thames, the Tate Gallery, the Parliament Buildings, Big Ben, Westminster Cathedral, Rodin's powerful sculpture of The Burghers of Calais, restaurants, and more. Breakfasts are not hot, but are ample, and there are crumpets! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
Very friendly staff, 3 minutes to the underground Pimlico, walking distance to the city and major attractions. Clean and nice rooms, but steep staircase, no elevator, breakfast - British. We will be back
I recently stayed for three nights at Blades Hotel. The room had everything I needed and I was was very comfortable there. Continental breakfast is served in a pleasant room and there's lots of variety, with food items being constantly restocked as needed. Best of all was the staff. All three of the receptionists I encountered were very friendly and welcoming. Especially helpful was Antonella, who helped wth encouragement and follow-up phone calls about my missing luggage (lost by the airline). I would stay there again, and recommend it to others.
