Enjoyed the hotel and location was good as it was right next to station and a Tesco etc. Check in is bizarre as staff aren't behind desks but just sat at what looked like communal computers. Check in took for ever, which wasn't the best start to the stay. Once we got to our room, it was lovely with a great view. We requested a bath and shower which we got and it was lovely. Mini fridge was great. It was our anniversary and my partners Birthday so we were given wine and cupcakes which was fab! |The kettle is really odd, and isn't plugged in so you need to look for a plug, but you cant take the pot off the stand so you need to carry the kettle everywhere haha. Over all nice stay, but they do take £50 per night off your card in case you use any extras. I have yet to have mine refunded so I'm not really pleased as you can imagine.
My partner had booked the hotel to be part of my 50th birthday celebration and it did not start well. First of all the room still had someones luggage in it so when we went back down the receptionist explained that the luggage had been put back in the room instead of leaving it in the hallway and that it would be taken away. After it had been taken away we found someones clothes in the closet! That looked like someone else had decided to use the room as a drop off point for their convenience and our inconvenience. The apology consisted of 3 chocolates and a note! what was the point of that when the coffee machine had not been re-stocked either? when we checked out 2 days later we were asked how the stay went and we explained what happened and credit due we did get an offer of a complimentary stay only for it to be taken away by email and be offered a complimentary upgrade instead! I have both worked and stayed in 5 star hotels around the world and when you pay that sort of money to stay in the hotel every detail has to be spot on because if it is not then the customer will complain and expect satisfactory compensation or service recovery. I feel neither has been offered and generally feel like my partner and myself have been treated like we do not matter. would I stay again? that's up to the management and even then if there were guarantees in place that this would never happen again.
The check in staff were exceptional, taking time to ensure I had a room with a bath after I commented on my particularly arduous journey. In addition to that they took the time to send up a sachet of bath salts and a natural loufah for my bath. It was something never requested, never asked for and greatly received and enjoyed. The service throughout was above and beyond, what you rarely get from a 4 or 5 star hotel, it was discreet and intuitive. You cant ask for more than that. In addition the hotel was well designed, well maintained and superior throughout.
We stayed here over night as we were attending a concert at Wembley, and the location made it perfect to travel there directly from Liverpool St underground. The hotel is immaculate, a beautiful old building with a really stylish and luxurious interior, making the most of its original features. The staff are helpful, efficient and friendly. We had breakfast which, with its choice and quality, was excellent. The attention to detail is what makes this hotel particularly pleasant to stay in: the refreshments in the lobby, the complimentary mini bar, the desire of the staff to ensure your stay is trouble- free. I would definitely re- visit.
Fantastic hotel where service is excellent.. Cannot think of anything bad to say about our stay, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be staying again whenever we go to the Capital. Fantastic friendly staff, very professional.......
Very nice hotel, located next to Liverpool Street station but we heard no noise or anything, the room was clean and comfortable and we got a lovely nights sleep. We checked in at 11.30am and they had a room ready for us which was brilliant as we weren't coming back that way until late at night (if you email them before arrive they will try to accommodate). The reception team were really friendly and even offered us a drink while we waited, and they have free tea / coffee available in reception and even wine for about an hour in the early evening. Very handy location outside of the busy centre of London as it is very easy to catch trains or the tube, or even a taxi from the rank right outside the doors. Also just 3 minutes walk to The New Ivy Restaurant which is also fantastic.
Tranquility in the mayhem. Close to transport links, fantastic restaurants and hip Spitalfields Market and Shoreditch. Hotel is tuned into the needs of a modern traveller, fuss free Wi-Fi, inobtrusive staff with a can do mentality. That does it for me.
Really went that extra mile - surprised us with a nice bottle of wine 🍷 from all the staff with a personal note saying hope we enjoyed our concert! Really made our stay even nicer - would definitely return!
Our first time staying around Liverpool Street - booked this hotel with friends for 2 nights to celebrate my husbands birthday and certainly wasn't disappointed. Fantastic greeting at reception - offered a soft welcome drink - speedy check in - rooms were ready at 1pm. Free canapés and wine in reception between 6-8pm - great idea and a good way to mingle with other guests. Breakfast was included in the most fabulous room - the staff were so efficient- smart and helpful - you couldn't ask for anything more at breakfastime! The room was quirky - clean - well equips with fantastically comfortable beds and pillows (I meant to ask the pillow content so that I could get some for home) - the mini bar was stacked with complimentary soft drinks and snacks. Will definitely return!
This was our second stay at the Andaz, and the welcome from the door and reception staff was as warm as the first time. Check-in was a breeze and we were offered some cold water and informed about the wine and canapés that we could enjoy later that afternoon in the reception. We were given room 228 which is a large king room - the room is stylish, spacious and clean and the bed very comfy. The free water, soft drinks and snacks which were topped up daily is also a welcome touch. The issue with this room is that it must be above one of the hotel's bars or restaurants - that means the sound of chairs/tables being moved across the floor early in the morning, and the sound of dance music late at night. We also had some drilling both mornings - once at a reasonable 11.30am, and then at a less reasonable 8.30am although fortunately (?!) we'd already been awakened by the chair noises. We mentioned this at check-out and were told there is fair bit of construction going on and its difficult to minimise the noise, which I appreciate but it doesn't cover all the noise this room experiences. They couldn't offer any refund since the room was pre-paid, but offered to put a note on the system for an upgrade should we visit again. In short, this is a very stylish hotel, rooms are great and the staff are really nice. I would happily stay here again but would ask for a different room if I was given 228 at check-in. I suggest you do the same.
