Have stayed in No.1 twice and both times room, food and level of service were exceptional. Obviously not the cheapest option but if you have the budget and want something more opulent then this definitely beats the more anonymous chain hotels, grand as they are.
Have stayed here on a couple of occasions over the last few years and have never been disappointed with the location, the accommodation, the friendly staff nor the food. Like all places of this ilk, you get what you pay for. Is it exclusive ? No, not really, their Lunch and Dinner Clientele is reflective of the local community (and an eye to business), so don’t be expecting an up market, 5 Star residence. But if you want a comfortable, friendly, well appointed place to stay in Limerick City then I would thoroughly recommend it !!
We have just returned from a two night stay and am already looking forward to our next visit. The atmosphere in the hotel was so relaxing and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was so cozy, warm & clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. We ate in the Bar the first night and in Sash Restaurant on the second night and the food and service was excellent. Special thanks to Patricia and Damien.
Just had a wonderful night at this hotel , nothing negative to say . Room -top notch and lots of little extras to make it stand out . Staff - friendly and accommodating- bar man Seamus I think ? was excellent and super friendly with a bit of craic . Hotel is spotless and the dinner and breakfast was excellent. Will defo be coming back and I’ll be sure to spread the word . Thanks for a lovely stay .
We had a really pleasant stay at No.1 and it started with the friendly staff. Service was great, we were offered complimentary in-room coffee which arrived within about 5 mins of check-in; we had barely started to unpack. The food in the restaurant was very good, with the homemade breads and marmalade being absolutely exceptional. The room was immaculate and warm (on a miserable wet weekend) with a comfortable bed. The only minor downside is the somewhat small TV and SD quality picture, which is not great if you wanted to catch a big Sporting event, before heading out on the town. The hotel is in a lovely quiet area of town and even though we were facing the main street, there was no disturbance from traffic or pedestrians. Parking in the immediate vicinity is free at the weekend. All and all a fantastic location for a city break.
10 of us had lunch - on Monday 4th. November 2019- and all agreed that it was excellent. We were served by Roisin, who was friendly, highly efficient and a great sense of humour. Although it was quite busy, Roisin made us feel as if we were the only people in the Restaurant. I opted for Lemon Sole, served with Hollandaise sauce, creamed potato and spinach leaves- delicious. It was my first visit - I will be back. Thank you Roisin and your fellow colleagues for making it a special day.
No 1 Peru Square is a real gem. We have stayed here many times and it is consistently excellent. The decor in all the rooms is both classy and elegant. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and always go that extra mile to try and accommodate any request - they make you feel so welcome and valued. A special mention to Damien in that regard who has a rare talent for remembering faces. The restaurant is fabulous both for dinner and breakfast and the chefs and waiters are excellent. The bar has been recently upgraded and is both cosy and intimate. The staff in both the hotel and the restaurant made our anniversary so special when we stayed in June by upgrading our room and providing lots of little extras and treats. I would highly recommend No1 Pery Square to anyone who wants a luxurious break away - this is a real treat.
We, a group of eight ladies stayed in the townhouse of No 1 Pery Square two weeks ago to celebrate a 40th Birthday. From the moment, I contacted the hotel three months previously I got the 'warm feeling' that this was a hotel with a difference and I was so so right, Nothing was too much trouble, All queries big and small (where to park, where to eat, where to shop, extra beds, treats for the birthday girl etc) were answered in an efficient and kindly manner. This was only the beginning. We were made to feel so genuinely welcome on arrival. We were greeted by name and personally shown to our rooms, The accommodation was fabulous (They don't charge nearly enough for what you get)... luxurious french chic and everything impeccably clean. Chilled champagne and fresh canapes (which were nearly too good to touch!) had been left in our suite to coincide exactly with our arrival. We had dinner in the hotel the evening of our arrival. The food was scrumptious and once again nothing was too much trouble. The ambiance is hard to describe but it does have an almost other worldly feel to it with the soft music and flickering candle light. The lady who 'minded' us so well I understand is the accommodation manager ( a beautiful Brazilian girl with lovely pearls!) and she went to such lengths to guide us through a mouthwatering menu and she got it so so right. When I happened to go to the reception around 11 she was putting on her coat to go home having waited until we had finished and made sure we were happy with everything before she left. Where would you get it! A world of praise also for room service. Once again, the amazing hospitality of the establishment was on display. A lovely girl asked if we would like our room serviced and I said we would but we were in and out all morning with spa appointments and it might not be so easy to work around us. She agreed/ insisted that she would come back later on in the afternoon when we were out to service the rooms and she did. Changing everything! Once again, where would you get it! Another word of praise this time for the SPA staff. Not surprisingly given the genial nature of everyone who works here, the therapists were none different and pampered us into seventh heaven. They made my mum feel so at ease in particular and when she was leaving it was as if herself and Christina were friends forever. Indeed she happened to be in reception when we were checking out and came over to give my Mum a hug and say goodbye. Where would you get it! When I was leaving I happened to be speaking with the manager on reception (another lovely lady) and she made the point that there are 44 staff working in the hotel and they all know each other very well. It shows! In fact I would say the staff are the key asset of this hotel and what sets it apart from other places Ive stayed. Lastly, did I mention the breakfast.... well you know what I'm going to say and you're not wrong! Like everything else here, it's fabulous with a twist!
Stayed here with my fiance for 2 nights. Stayed in a classic club room. The decor of this hotel is just lovely, so quirky and modern. Love the wallpaper in the long room with all the exotic birds! Gorgeous touches here and there. Room was lovely, the bed was so comfortable. I was a bit disappointed there was no bath as i brought epsom salts for a soak, not to worry. Shower was amazing. Had dinner in the Long Room the first evening and we went out the 2nd night. Menu was a bit limited, there seemed to be a variety of cheese in 80% of the dishes. He had the burger which was lovely and i had the chicken. It was served as a half roast portion. To be honest it didn't look very appealing when it came out. Presentation needs work. Chicken just lumped on top of the fries ehich were greasy underneath. Chicken was delicious though! Had a mocha coffee which wasnt great... tasted like one u would get in a service station. Disappointed as i love my coffee. Breakfast stole the show, gorgeous full irish, crispy croissants and homemade granola. Fab! The restaurant is so lovely decorated. Lots of lovely choices for breakfast. Eggs florentine and Benedict too. The brown bread is absolutely divine. Used the thermal suite too, gorgeous facilities. The sauna was the best one ive ever used. Proper hot. Lovely. Herbal teas were a nice touch. Complimentary fruit wasnt very fresh so i didnt take anything. One thing which its lacking... a jacuzzi. Would really boost it. One room was a herbal cocoon...not very hot or cool or steamy?? Bit pointless. A jacuzzi would be a smart alternative to this. Overall, a lovely stay. Only a couple of things id change. I would recommend it. The staff are fantastic. So friendly and accomodating.
Though I want to give it 5 stars because our visit was so enjoyable, it falls a little short in some amenities to get it. The service and food (especially the homemade brown bread being the best in Ireland) are exceptional and the cottage charm is present throughout the hotel. Highly recommend it!
