We had the cavery lunch here was nothing to get excited about and staff seemed disorganised to deal with a que. Good choices on the menu meats/fish well prepared but veg was dissapointing and flavourless on mean course. Deserts were fine but took ages to get served and delivered to the table. Dissapointing as with a little effort and good customer service emprovement would make the difference. A nice venue
Thanks for a great place to crash after exploring this beautiful part of Ireland. Very central for all of the things we wanted to see. Cliffs of Mohar, Blarney and Bunratty Castles, Cork and lots else besides. Clean, comfy, friendly and a breakfast that sets you up for the day. I would definitely recommend this Hotel. Thanks 😊😊
Lovely hotel with comfortable communal lounge. My room was spacious and well-equipped: spotlessly clean and very welcoming. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is served buffet style: superb choice of cereals, fruits, breads, pastries, juices and full cooked breakfast. Excellent value - highly recommend.
This hotel is about a 15 minute drive to the airport. The room was clean and spacious, and the bathroom was modern. The entire room was set out very well, with plenty of storage, plus a desk, TV, places for luggage and ironing facilities. The beds were very comfortable and it was quiet at night, providing a good night's sleep. The restaurant has a large variety of foods on the menu, and the wait staff were friendly and courteous. Likewise all the staff we encountered on reception. The lobby had a large lounge area, and snack machine. Overall, the hotel is large, spacious, and convenient to get to the airport. Breakfast was not included but there are plenty of food places around, and there is free wifi. Definitely value for money.
Good location with handy shops near by the hotel staff were nice and the room was really spacious and clean, breakfast was reasonable as usual for self service we went to the gastro bar for food but id give that a miss next time not very good
Got a dinner bed and breakfast package for this hotel at a very reasonable price. The hotel and our room were very nice. Reception staff were helpful and sorted out a dinner reservation I had made that had somehow gotten lost. Dinner was fantastic in the Off the Bone bistro, would eat there again in a flash! The only small negative was breakfast. The menu said Brown and white toast, home made brown bread and rolls, pancakes and pastries would be available. Well thwre was only white sliced pan and a few crusts of brown sliced pan left when we arrived down at 10am (breakfast was being served until 11am). I asked was the pancake machine going to be refilled and if not could I have a small pastry or roll. The waitress went off to check with chef and never came back. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay and would visit again.
Stayed here over the weekend ... room spotless... eat both nights in the hotel and food was amazing mussels to die for.. staff in off the bone were very good and friendly overall was delightful to be here, looking forward to coming again
After a wonderfully smooth ferry crossing to Rosslare and an easy drive to Limerick, we enjoyed six nights at the hotel. Situated just off a roundabout on one of the main roads. The hotel has a large free car park, and very helpful staff on reception. There was a small, reliable lift, very handy with a wheelchair. As we were staying for six nights, we decided to treat ourselves to a suite, it was very spacious, and we found the sofa, table and chairs very useful during our stay and well worth the additional cost. The bedding was good quality as were the towels. The TV in the room had a good range of channels, if you are prepared to search for them. WiFi was free, fast and reliable, without the need for constant logging in. In the bathroom, in common with most plumbing fittings we encountered in Ireland, the taps were separate hot and cold, rather than the single mixer type, so you needed to be careful not to scold your hands when washing them. The shower was a fixed head model, with an awful system that went from cold to hot with a single control for heat and flow, so as it was a fixed head you couldn't avoid getting a cold dousing before you managed to get the temperature right! Not too comfortable, or the most efficient use of water. Can't help but feel that a more modern valve system and a mixer tap in the basin would save the hotel a fortune in water heating, as well as being more comfortable and useable for guests. All areas of the hotel were very clean. The housekeeping staff do an excellent job and like all the staff at the hotel, they were always polite helpful and friendly. Also of note was the quality of the breakfast, with the usual serve yourself cereals, toast plus cooked options. The scrambled egg was outstanding, as was the quality of the bacon, black pudding and sausages. The staff at breakfast were very helpful, and always with a friendly smile. We did notice that the water in Ireland, is quite hard, which we are used to, and enjoy, it also tastes wonderful. We think this also goes some way as to why the tea and coffee at the hotel is very enjoyable.
Just wanted to review the wonderful christening party hosted by the south court last Sunday. Although everything didn't pan out as planned we couldn't have been happier with how things went. I initially contacted Fiona in sales who couldn't have been more accommodating with the menu. We were looking for 'off the bone' restaurant and she worked hard to find a suitable menu within that to suit our needs when the buffet or finger food wasn't what we wanted. Unfortunately there was a big event on the same day so we were told closer to the event that we'd be better going to seasons restaurant within the hotel. I was nervous that out party in a large empty room would be a disaster but equally didn't want to be in an over crowded "off the Bone" so went ahead. I was apprehensive but there was no need as from the moment we arrived at the south court hotel we were treated so well. The gentleman who looked after us and took out order was friendly, professional and highly competent despite the pressure he was under on an exceptionally busy day. The food was perfect and although we had to wait a little longer than we hoped we never felt abandoned or forgotten about and that made all the difference. I will be sure to recommend both the south court and off the bone to people who enquire. Thanks again for a great day.
Upon check in we were sent to a room that did not have the amount of beds we booked for, then we were giving another open the door and it had the right amount of beds but also someone elses luggage and personal belongings, not a good start to say the least, receptionist was not the most helpful either, hotel is nice, lovely pub and restaurant alright and a Starbucks. At breakfast there was no coordination, table was not set and even after waiting we had to get cutlery ourselves and use a saucer for a side plate, this was not even at the so called breakfast rush. I honestly would not stay here again, as the hassle really put me off.
