We arrived at the hotel at 8.50pm as our journey was very long. We were greeted by a really nice and kind woman who we checked in with we were quickly showing to our rooms on the 3rd floor as we needed 3 rooms as there was a good few staying over have to stay rooms could do with a bit up a clean especially the bathroom.... the beds were so uncomfortable that i didn't sleep at all that night as i was really looking forward to a good night sleep. There was alot of noise outside our bedroom window down the garden of people singing and shouting. Breakfast was okay...but staff could do with a smile!!!!@
Although located in a less than salubrious area of Limerick, this hotel is well presented, clean and comfortable. There are plenty of shops nearby, and the route into the city centre is straightforward. As such this hotel it is great value for money, and can certainly be recommended.
Stayed two nights. Hotel was clean staff were nice and friendly. Front desk assisted with obtaining transportation to the city center. Breakfast was ready on time. Did hear a lot of sound from the street shops below throughout the night. Would be difficult to get a good night sleep if you are a light sleeper.
Stayed here for the one night Pleasant staff at reception however first room allocated was not acceptable as smelt and also the bathroom door would not close as there was a told that sat above floor level stopping the door from closing A quick callback downstairs and we were allocated the room next door what s difference room was fresh and everything worked Breakfast was good but probably should get a new toaster as one of them looked kind if had been in a fire fight Overall acceptable at s good rate and a health club if you are inclined
Was awful!! First staff was very unfriendly. Reception girl was very unhelpful and smell of sweat .. Bar staff even worst, no please or thank you ! No heating in room , have to ask receptionist to check it .. she said she will reactivate it , no sorry nothing.. swimming pool only ok , changing room was freezing and dirty . I have to bring child to room to wash her .Bath plug broken, it’s mean next morning I have to stand in cold dirty water to have shower.. only one key was working... we had late checkout but I couldn’t wait to leave it , we went early and I never will get back again .. very depressing , unfriendly, not for family hotel .. disappointed ..
Lovely hotel staff are wonderful. Spacious room nice and warm and comfortable too with a king size bed. Very clean at a reasonable price with breakfast included. Nice and quiet here by night too. I would reccomend it
I have a regular requirement for one of the meeting rooms at the Maldron Hotel in Limerick, Ireland. Management and staff are warm, friendly and very helpful. Parking is very convenient and refreshments are always suitable. You need look no further than the Maldron for all your requirements - just off the motorway. Graham S
Stayed with a group of friends from the UK before Christmas. The hotel was great, with clean rooms and all the staff were very friendly. We enjoyed spending time in the lovely pool and the food in the restaurant was fantastic. We will definitely return to this hotel when back in Limerick.
Stayed here for one night. When we got to our room it was so cold we had to keep our coats on. No hotel information is provided in the rooms so based on experience in other hotels I dialled "0" and got through to reception. I explained that the room was freezing, and the radiator was not on. The woman on the phone said she would activate the heating now from reception. No apology or acknowledgement that it was January and 3.5 degrees outside and they'd just knowing checked us into a room with no heating on. This was not the best start. We had planned to rest at the hotel for a couple of hours on arrival, but the room was too cold to even take our coats off so instead we headed straight into the city. The hotel is in a run down and very unpleasant area outside the city. A taxi into town cost €10.60. When we got back to the room 6 hours later it was warmer and the radiator (only one) was on but the room was still felt cold. Our room (130) was at the end of a very long corridor on the first floor next to the fire escape stairs. Perhaps the more central rooms are warmer? I don't know. After using the sink in the bathroom we noticed the bathroom floor was soaking. Turned out the bottom of the sink was linking so every time the tap was turned on more water leaked on to the floor. As highlighted in other reviews toiletries are not provided, just two bottles of soap attached to the wall (one beside the sink and one beside the shower). There was black mould under the sink ledge and around the tap. The shower itself was the worst I have experienced in any hotel, B&B or guesthouse in Ireland. The enamel was damaged which looked terrible but the bathmat provided was covered in black mould (photos included). I really don't know how this could be allowed even in a 3 star hotel. The lock on the bathroom door was broken and wouldn’t lock. Instead of being fixed it seem to have just been jammed so that it couldn't turn. Would've been easier to just repair it. The yellow lampshades in the room had horrible stains on them. The room hadn't been cleaned properly either - there were old peanuts on the floor. I appreciate that this is a 3 star hotel, however, I've stayed twice in the Maldron Hotel in Oranmore which is also 3 star an it is in a different league. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
I have booked my sister in to the hotel for several night I called to see her yesterday and was very inpressed. I would recomend the hotel to others. Reception is very warm and comfortable even just to sit down fr a coffee on your own. Really nice.
