My wife and I spent three nights at the Castletroy Hotel in March 2018. The hotel staff showed us lots of Irish friendliness. All the staff were constantly full of smiles. When i asked questions about the locality and Limerick they were happy to help. Check-in was quick and easy -- all our records were in order. Our room on the second floor was a nice large size. We had a big, soft, comfortable bed; the amenities were top quality. Everything in the room worked. The lobby and hallways all look well and there is plenty of ambient light from large windows that offer a view of the outside--you can easily keep an eye on the Irish weather. The wifi throughout the hotel was quick and steady. I always had a strong signal. The breakfast in the hotel was delicious. To be fair--I am a big fan of Irish breakfasts and the Castletroy Park hotel was reliably excellent on each morning. They had all the trimmings of the Irish breakfast along with breads, cereals, fruits, yogurt, and tea and coffee. The coffee was good, as was the Irish tea. There's a well-equipped gym in the hotel. When I went on each day it was busy--lots of locals--but not overly so. You can do cardio and lift weights, both free and machine. There's a pool too--a large one with some lanes set aside for lap swimmers. The hotel is a 2-minute walk from an entrance to the University of Limerick. So if you are going to meetings at the university then this is the hotel for you. The hotel is also a short drive to the center of Limerick and it's within easy access of the Dublin-Limerick Road/Motorway. It can serve as a good base to tour Limerick and County Clare. A drive to Bunratty Castle and the Cliffs of Moher can easily be accomplished in one day, even with an 11 AM hotel departure. There is a shop nearby, along with a very upscale butcher's shop, and a Chinese restaurant. We had dinner in the hotel on a couple of nights. I had the "world's greatest sandwich" and my wife had soup and Irish brown bread. Both our meals were delicious. On a second night we ate there my wife had a burger that she said was a bit dry. i had a fish entree, that again was delicious. We had a rental car and there was plenty of parking onsite. Overall -- top marks.
Stay here now and again, typically mid week while on business in the area. Overall nice set up and inviting atmosphere. Service and staff are very good. Room nice and comfortable, very well furnished and clean. Nice bar and decent food. Ample parking.
What a fantastic hotel. The weekend just gone we celebrated my sisters wedding at this hotel and from start to finish they were amazing hosts nothing was too much trouble for then. As one of the bridesmaids the manager on duty checked in with me on several occasions to ensure everything was ok for the bride & groom. The meal was beautiful and plentiful the compliments throughout the evening from all the guests were the same " that meal was amazing". After dinner when some tables had to be rearranged to accommodate the band this was done so fast and efficiently no one hardly even noticed the staff were excellent. The rooms in the hotel were also fabulous spotless clean and very comfortable. The choice for breakfast the following morning was vast from the fully cooked Irish breakfast to pancakes. Again the staff here were very accommodating moving tables etc so we could dine together as a family. All in all after my experience with the castletroy park hotel I would certainly recommend it as a wedding venue or as a base for a visit to Limerick.
Recently had my daughter's wedding in the Castletroy Park Hotel. From start to finish, the professionalism shown as well as no no fuss response to any reasonable request is something to experience. On the day, everything went like clockwork. General comment from each and every guest was positive. This ranged from food, decor, courtesy and accommodation. The food in particular was plentiful throughout the day as well as delicious. Anyone with dietary requirements was catered for on the spot without any fuss or having to give prior notice. Well done to all and in particular to all the staff on duty on the day, with special mention to Darren who ran proceedings with great efficiency and courtesy.
Great staff, great services, great hotel. It is within walking distance of public transportation and places to eat. Limerick city is a short bus ride away and there are many attractions to see there. Overall we were very pleased with it.
The Staff are so welcoming. You are made so comfortable and all requests are dealt with as being ‘no problem at all. The Executive Room was so comfortable. I must stay longer the next time. The food is first class and plentiful.
Whether visiting for dinner, afternoon tea, or an overnight stay, the Castletroy Park Hotel never fails to provide an excellent experience. The additional bonus is the team of staff who are second to none.
Had afternoon tea here this week, really good food, a lot of effort was made, even with The child's tea, there was no problem catering for my allergies. The only thing lacking is the teapot and basic cups and saucers. The setting is perfect as is the food, but for such a treat the nice delph would make it perfect
Been plenty of times before. Great breakfast and the bar menu has plenty of options. Bar does get a little busy at 6pm but by 8no problem. Guinness was a little to cold. Room was nice, bright and clean.
I attended a wedding here and from the minute of checking in we were made to feel very welcome. Fantastic hotel and the staff are excellent too.The room was big and very comfortable would highly recommend staying in this hotel.
