We attended a wedding on the 11th August and I have to say it was perfect . There was a very welcoming feeling as you entered the Castletroy park Hotel. I have been there on several occasions for lunch and always enjoyed the food. My first time at a wedding there, and true to form it was excellent . The meal was perfect, the staff were friendly, and couldn't do enough for us, so a big thank you to management and staff for a lovely day.
Me and my family arrived early hours Friday morning pulled up at the front as couldn't get round with a newborn baby stud outside the door (in freezing cold) the guy came to the door looking at us not offering to help at all and because we where trying to get stuff out of the car he turned round and said "well when you are ready then just come to the door" I said why don't you just leave the door open as you can see we have a baby or even better help. Got to our room there was no back on the remote, the light shades where wonky, the bathroom decor was bad, the wardrobe glass door had a massive crack in it (I was just glad my baby wasn't able to crawl because he would of cut himself otherwise) the light switch had a massive hole in the wall, what looks like a new lift kept saying out of order but would then go up or down (I felt unsafe) the choice of breakfast wasn't good some of the food was dry (I can't believe I paid full price for it as well) I wasn't happy with my stay at all as we where going for a family wedding I didn't know I would be paying for an expensive hotel with an appalling room an also the breakfast should be included in the room as people are paying expensive prices to stay there. I have taken pictures of the things I seen but won't let me upload.
Excellent hotel - very good family room with 2 single beds which was perfect for 2 children - no kicking each other or stealing the cover in the night! Room was very clean and tidy and a very good size. Good range of channels on the TV! We used the pool in the morning and enjoyed it - just find it strange that in Ireland you have to wear swimming hats to use the pool as we are unused to that in Ireland ! Didn't eat there but used the bar in the evening which was reasonably priced but the bottles of wine were a little expensive and I would suggest Diet Coke/lemonade on draught rather than bottles as it becomes very expensive if you have children!
Myself, husband and son stayed for 3 nights, it can only be described as excellent. The staff were more than 5 star, the hotel was exceptionally clean, the atmosphere fantastic. We also were guest at my cousin wedding on the Saturday and again the service we received was 5 star. The food was amazing, I'm afraid I ate too much! The little touches and staff going the extra mile, made me sad to check out and look forward to staying again. Thank you for an amazing short break and making the wedding exceptional
We found ourselves in need of a last minute room in Limerick and this hotel had availability. Overall we found the Castletroy Park to be above average but not amazing. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The halls need a little sprucing up. Friendly staff. Good rates. Weird entry and parking lot. We initially pulled in and found ourselves entering through the service area. Quality, but not mind blowing, stay.
We stayed here with a group of fellow cyclists on a stopover on a long distance cycle. The hotel is great and the staff were excellent. The restaurant was great for both dinner and breakfast. The lobby was a really cool place to hang out and I can't wait to revisit with my family at some stage.
Was here for a friends wedding and I was highly impressed. The function room was fabulous and all the staff were very friendly. They were very attentive and well up for the laugh. The food was beautiful and tasty. For a hotel I thought the drinks were very reasonably priced. A great venue for any wedding.
Hotel had been recently modernised and looks much better for it. Nice room and nice breakfast. Only issue we had was trying to access the pool in the morning - it should have been open according to the posted opening hours but was still closed up, meaning that I couldn't get my swim before heading to work. We also tried the bar food and sampled the 'best toasted sandwich ever', which lived up to its title!
We stayed here for a single night in August. The hotel is generally tidy but our bedroom carpet could have been cleaner. We went for the afternoon tea which was lovely, we couldn't manage it all. The pool and spa were also good, even if the changing rooms were a little cold. Piece of advice, always use the lift on the left, if you use the other, make sure you have plenty of time
This is a hotel with very comfortable rooms, nice eateries and a good fitness centre to which hotel guests are given complimentary access. It is a 10-15 minute drive from Limerick city (15-20 by bus), therefore quite convenient for travellers who do not wish to stay in the city. There is a little shopping centre next to it featuring a bank, a pharmacy, a convenient store, a big cafe and a Chinese restaurant.
