Went for lunch with the family here last week, in the bar. The service was extremely slow and it wasn't busy. The food was lovely for us adults, as always has been, and we have eaten here on many occasions. The children's menu, however, is extremely expensive at €7 each, extremely poor quality frozen chips chicken nuggets, sausages, bolognese.. Very small portions - our 10 year old was hungry afterwards and even our 3 and 2 year olds finished every bit on their plates - and not so much as a complimentary drink or scoop of ice cream to accompany it. We had to purchase desserts for them, a scoop and a half of ice cream for €3 each. Made for a very expensive and quite disappointing lunch out. Not sure how residents might feel about having to feed their kids here, it doesn't seem they want families to dine here. Pity.
stayed as a couple for one night. We were extremely disappointed with our Superior room - dated and in bad need of an upgrade. The bathroom was particularly poor, no bath offered just a shower. very dirty looking due to wear and tear. We were given quater of a roll of toliet paper. no extra roll provided. The room was dusty and the spare duvet was dirty. Room was very cold. We were left waiting at the bar and reception was they were unmanned at times. The positives - nice staff - good breakfast - nice dinner. beautiful grounds and we slept well - really quiet surroundings. wifi very fast.
Very enjoyable stay at Castle Oaks House Hotel, beautiful grounds, good food and peaceful surroundings. Staff were very helpful. We stayed in a courtyard suite which had everything we needed. Would def recommend and would like to return too!
I choose Castle Oaks House Hotel following the death of my brother William who passed away in Wembley London. My brother's wishes were that he be buried with my Mom, who he adored, in Stradbally Cemetry Castleconnell. Stradbally Cemetry is located directly opposite the Castle Oaks House Hotel & was an ideal location for the funeral & meal after burial. The MD - Mrs Connell was so helpful in every way possible. She accepted my booking for a meal after the funeral for 55 people and everyone I spoke to after the meal were so impressed with the meal & the staff involved.
If you are thinking of staying in Limerick and would like somewhere with beautiful surroundings and something a little quieter away from the city then this place is perfect. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and how they treated our party for the duration of our stay. Should the need arise to stay at this venue in the future I'll be delighted to stay here again. Every request we had was accommodated and we were treated so well it prompted me to write this review. Food was excellent, ambience excellent and faculties excellent. If you stay, take a stroll down onto the Shannon and make a wish in the Fairy Woods.
Stayed overnight in this hotel as part of a special offer package ... couldn't fault it at all . The hotel is situated by the river which gives it the perfect setting . My daughter and I arrived there at 6 pm tired after a day shopping . We were greeted by the receptionist who was efficient and pleasant. He directed us to our rooms and advised us on the facilities e.g. Leisure centre and dining room , breakfast times etc . The room was a family room with a double and two single beds , very nicely decorated . Everything was available to make the stay comfortable... tea/coffee making facilities, iron, hairdryer extra pillows , the room was warm and beds very comfortable. The bathroom was clean with an ample supply of towels, and mini gels, shampoos soaps etc . We decided to use the leisure facilities situated opposite the hotel .It was a little bit dated but the pool was clean as was the changing areas and shower area. The hairdryers were all working and towels were available for members and hotel guests . We used the jacuzzi , steam room and sauna and enjoyed them all . Overall very happy with the facilities. Rejuvenated, we went to dinner in the Island bar . The waiter was one of the most efficient, nice and friendliest waiters I ever met .the food was excellent. The atmosphere was very relaxed . Breakfast was also excellent with fresh fruit salad, beautiful scones, pasteries, cereals, etc. The cooked breakfast was excellent. Overall this hotel had old world charm , Lovely staff and a lovely picturesque setting . Only fault was the lift . It took a long time to move and when it did it was very slow . Better off using the stairs .
We just had our wedding at the Castle Oaks House Hotel and we could'nt have asked for a better weekend. Liam and the staff were so helpful, friendly and professional. The food was delicious and the evening went like clockwork. The grounds surrounding the hotel are also great for photos. I would highly recommend the Castle Oaks. We had the best weekend of our lives. Thanks again Castle Oaks.
We enjoyed a lovely overnight stay in the Castle Oaks House Hotel to celebrate my birthday. My wife, our adult daughter, our pet dog and myself were able to stay for less than €200 for overnight stay and breakfast. The setting and facilities are excellent, the staff and service were brilliant. The food was stunning and we would have no hesitation in recommending this venue to families(young and old), very pet friendly which was important. The beds were also extremely comfortable and we all remarked on how well we slept.
Both my husband and I stayed here on the 8th February and we could not fault the place especially been 5 minutes off the M7 motorway. The hotel was very quite and peaceful we ate dinner in the bar and the food was gorgeous with a good size portion. We will definitely be back for another visit.
I'm a local girl...born & raised a stones throw away from this beautiful hotel which is set on the banks of the majestic River Shannon. A short walk away is the charming village of Castleconnell. The staff at the hotel know what customer service is all about.....making the customer a number 1 priority without being intrusive in any way. Overall I'd definitely recommend a visit...there is so much to see & do locally that you will not be disappointed
