The room was not refurbished as stated on the website. Very old, dated and dark. The heat didn't work well and breakfast was minimal. Good thing we only planned on a one night stay as I would have moved if it was longer. I guess the saying that you get what you pay for is true. Don't be fooled by the pictures on the internet. The only thing I would rate decently was the pool. My daughter enjoyed it. The hot tub was not working while we were there.
I stayed here for a cheer competition as most other hotels were booked solid. When I walked in the room there is a horrible cheer cologne smell. The front desk staff was a bit and miss...while waiting for my elevator the one older lady was swearing up a storm saying how she walked in on the guy in room 330 passed out naked and drunk on the floor....not nice to hear when we have 7 year olds waiting for us. There was also a family renting a general room for a family function but their plates were left in the hall their children loud and running around eating food beside the elevator. Pool area was very clean - high chlorine content. Although the pool was warm air outside of it was very cold and the hot tub was closed down. The nicest part of my stay was the bathroom - seemed to have minor renovations to it with a clean shower. I wouldn’t recommend or book this hotel again as I went back home to get my own blankets. Hotel need a major overhaul
The hotel was dirty especially the bathroom. The toilet and bath were in the same room which was so small it was almost impossible to get into. Thankfully none of us are large! The room was cold and took hours to warm up with the old heater. Elevator walls had been scratched and drawn on. There is a continental breakfast. Chairs were a mess, tables had not been cleaned off, so didn't bother about food. There is a $100 deposit. Should have paid us to stay there! Time to shut up shop or gut.
The room itself wasn't too bad, but for the price you could stay at a much safer place. When I was checking out the desk person was incredibly rude and ordered no assistance. I needed a cart to get my belongings to the car. The desk person just took off on me to check the room, so he could refund my deposit. I finally caught up to him. I loaded all my luggage onto the cart and followed him through the icy parking lot to get my deposit. My belongings fell all over the parking lot and i tore my acl. I could barely walk let alone pick up my belongings. The desk person just kept going. I finally managed to put my belongings in the car and crawled in to get my deposit. The desk person yelled at me because I left the cart just outside the door, and would not return my deposit until i went and got it! I crawled back out, crying in pain and brought the cart back in. I still cant walk and felt terribly degraded.
This hotel is pretty rundown. The images that appear on its website are not what the actual hotel is like. Walls, furniture, etc. are not only old but in some cases damaged. Our room even had graffiti written over one corner of the door entrance. One of the drawers did not have a handle and the other one was falling down. The wallpaper was coming off. We asked for an extra towel to the reception twice and never got it. The swimming pool was the only thing that saved the stay. Would not recommend this hotel at all.
The room we were in hasn’t been updated for many years. Bathroom floor tiles were broken and crunch under your feet. The carpeting is worn and torn with the seems coming apart. The electrical outlets were broken and unsafe and cold air was leaking in all around the ancient patio doors. The room pictures on the website were certainly not representative of the room we were given...certainly would not recommend to anyone!
Looking for affordable 1 night stay which I found at this hotel. Room was on 4th floor and was vacuumed, dusted and relatively clean, spacious and simple dated furniture. Bed was comfortable and darkening curtains. Wi-Fi and flat screen both worked well. On the negative the room reeked of stale old cigarette smoke. I'm a smoker so you know it's bad if I'm taking issue. A carpet shampoo and a simple coat of paint would go a LONG way in freshing things up! I guess I just take pride in what I own so this is more a "personal" cleanliness issue. I would be embarrassed to have guests in my own home with such a sickening stench let alone potential repeat customers. The biggest complaint was the shower. I have a very warm shower and unfortunately there are no regulatilors on this hotols system. I was near scalded several times and was just glad I can move fast!! My mom or a child without supervision would have been in a world of trouble so please take precaution! Continental breakfast was coffee Orange juice muffins and toast or frozen waffles to toast as well as cereal. Overall the stay was find but not somewhere I would take my mom or a great just due to water issue and stench of room. Would return solo again due to cheap room.
I enjoyed my stay here.. Unlike the Holiday inn, I was treaded with kindness. I liked the fact that I could pay with cash and not need a credit card whatsoever.. And I was allowed to have guests.
HJ allows dogs, centrally located, continental breakfast that meets the early riser’s need for a quick fix, and a very inviting and warm pool. The lobby needs some work but the rooms were clean and met our needs. I truly enjoyed my swim. It was so nice watching the snow from the warm pool. My only issue is that HJ did not honour the $$ I booked for online with a confirmation number from the Wyndham Hotel Group. Shame on you.
The first thing you notice about the hotel when you walk into the lobby is how dark and sad it looks. Some better lighting and a fresh coat of paint would be a good start at refreshing the place. We chose to stay here because the rate was low and it had an indoor pool for the kids. The pool was an incredible 85 degrees. So nice! But the pool area, like the lobby and hallways, was fairly run down. The room was nicer than expected based on the lobby and hallways. Clean and large for a standard 2 Queen. We realized when we got home that we had left our cell phone charger in the hotel room, so I called to see if they had found it. The promised to look and let me know, but I have not heard back yet. Continental breakfast was ok. Eggos, bread, toaster, cereal options, OJ and coffee, stale donuts, and bananas. We won't be going back, but I suppose for $100 (115 after taxes), this is what you get these days.
